What a fascinating way to make a living. The depth of knowledge and hard won experience it would take to own/curate a small museum like this is pretty impressive. Having run a small business I’m sure his days are long and the work is never done but his energy for the endeavour comes across in these episodes.
@@TheHistoryUnderground I would add the same applies to you, providing consistent high quality and innovative content while juggling a day job is equally impressive.
My dad’s hobby was Civil War relic hunting. We lived near a battlefield. He had some great relics which now belong to my brother since my dad died. Some are in excellent shape, buckles, breast plates, buttons, bayonets, tons and tons of mini balls and more. Great history.
If y’all ever become interested in selling a few relics, I would be interested in any buttons you’d like to unload 😉 if so just comment in any of my relic hunting videos and we can make arrangements 🇺🇸
Nothing as good as a video opening with a Christmas Tree. Un-Boxing vids are fun to watch, thanks Erik. Years back I had so much WWII memorabilia, US and German, but sold it all to help buy my first house. Erik your museum is such a Trever trove of history, you must make Gettysburg proud. Thanks to JD and Erik for this fine watch, and you ended the vid with more Christmas Trees.....
@@TheHistoryUnderground It "Helped" with the down paymet, I also sold a 70 440 Cuda, 70 383 Challenger, 68 AMX and most of my coin collection. It was a hard thing to do but, like my dad said, "you made a good decision." have a great day.....
Really nice collection of memorabilia! I know unpacking an over packed box can be tedious, but I’ve come to appreciate the extra effort. I can’t tell you the number of times I have received a package and what was inside rattled like a BB in a box car. Thank you so much JD and Erik! Merry Christmas to you both.
I just drove up there from Florida two weeks ago to hunt for 3 days and I couldn't wait to go there and look around. What a place and what amazing things they have. I found out about the museum from your videos way back when and finally had the opportunity to go.. I loved it and I got to meet " The Man"...if anyone gets a chance to go there please do, it's truly amazing.
Like always I enjoy your content I hope I get the pleasure of meeting you one day if you're ever in Gettysburg shooting or in the Baltimore area.. I did get the pleasure of meeting Garry and chris by complete accident when they were shooting Devil's Den before the remodel for the American Battlefield Trust. All you guys do great work I've learned a lot by watching all your videos..
Always so interesting at Gettysburg Museum of History. Would love to visit there someday. Thank you for all your time & Erik's also. He is a wonderful man & the two of you make great friends
Was up in Gettysburg last weekend for the Christmas Festival and thought I saw you walking out of the GBMH... wasn't sure until I saw you were in town!
Aloha and Mahalo! Great Video and artifacts. On my bucket list to visit the muesum and civil war battlesfields. I need to put my Iraq war trophies into displays like the ones on the website. I also plan to get somethings from the site to add to my collection. Great stuff there on the site. Merry Christmas! Bruddah🤙
I would love to get either of those packages in the mail 👍 I have made quite a few purchases from the GMoH 😆 I'm really tempted to head to the website and take a look, but I just recently purchased a certain nefarious person's silver luncheon knife that set me back a few 💰💰 I wonder who'll reply first? JD or the text me spammer 🤣
I would love that job. History is fascinating but some people just don't get it. I have my Uncles dog tags from WW2 and they are covered in blood . He died in the Ruhr pocket , I never met him but I think about him alot.
I have a colt gun crate in my basement that was repurposed into a shelf, I was so mad after I found it when we moved in. One stamp says 1932 I think, and another one is stamped looks like 1835 or 1836.
Artifacts in the ground have a story to tell. Items taken out of context for decoration are almost meaningless by comparison. Selling them is unethical.
It was a joke. Keep in mind that these are all items that were brought back by the men who fought against the Nazis in WWII. We don’t condone the ideology but do find value in the history, even if it is ugly.
I do not trust the judgement of this commenter one, little, bit… 😅 Seriously, he’s solid. If it weren’t the case, I wouldn’t be working with him. Thanks for watching!

Love the Christmas aspect to this. But as always, American Artifact is one of the best shows on TH-cam.

Sold it to buy a house? That must’ve been a heck of a collection.

I have a small relic box with Union and Confederate bullets from the Gettysburg Museum and a nice note from Erik. One of my cherished possessions

Awesome episode
Thanks!
It would be cool if the museum sold some mystery boxes for $150 or so.
That's actually a pretty good idea.
That would be awesome!
Great idea
I would buy, never know what you get, like a box of chocolates! 😅
That's so crazy I thought the same thing when I saw the video title
Cutting towards his heart like a true professional!
I love the unboxing videos! So cool!
Glad that you're enjoying them. They're fun to do.

The battle of trevillian station maybe for the sword plate
👍🏻
I live right near it also lol
Cool!
Thanks!
When did you film this? Im pretty sure that's the spotsylvania belt buckle I ordered from the website last weekend
Filmed this last weekend. If it's the same one, you must have got it as soon as it went up.
@@TheHistoryUnderground I must have
Very interesting video

When is the best time to go to Gettysburg and the museum? We would like to go in 2023 but not sure when.
Personally, I'm a fan of late fall or early spring before the leaves come on. You can see the terrain a lot better and the crowds aren't as bad.
Early spring sounds good. Thanks!
Vary cool
I want it all 😂
Ha! I hear you.
Trevillian Station in Virginia.
👍🏻
What's the story with the golf clubs in the background there?
Those belonged to Eisenhower.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
could that belt buckle be from Battle of Trevillian Station
Commenting for the algorithm
Thanks!
In Amazon box. How Amazon get these items?
Just a repurposed Amazon box.
Trevilian Station
Where’s home?
Take all my money

I have a bunch of nazi stick pins
Why are you selling donated relics?
These were not donated. They were purchased.
Artifacts in the ground have a story to tell. Items taken out of context for decoration are almost meaningless by comparison.
Selling them is unethical.
Nothing says Merry Christmas like a swastika. 😢👎🏿. Why anyone would want that in their house is beyond me. 🤷♂️
It was a joke. Keep in mind that these are all items that were brought back by the men who fought against the Nazis in WWII. We don’t condone the ideology but do find value in the history, even if it is ugly.
It's sad to know that those buttons, breastplates and blt buckles came off of real people who most likely died while wearing them.
I love your channel, but hope and pray that the Nazi memorabilia doesn’t end up in the hands of NeoNazi’s or white supremacists. .
I do not trust the owner of this shop one, little, bit...
