I’ve been there many times and I always find something new there. In one of the cases they walked past they have some of Hitler’s and Eva Braun’s personal effects. It’s a wonderful place that puts you within inches of MAJOR historic significance! We are going back in a month and I can’t wait to stop in again.

I have learned more about history from you, in these excellent videos, than I did in high school. You keep it light hearted, fascinating, truthful, and most of all, sharing places that most of us would never actually see. A big shout out to JD!

You can tell you and Eric have a profound respect for these artifacts and that’s awesome because it’s people like you and Eric that will keep the past alive. I have a young daughter and it breaks my heart that people now a days are not aware of a lot of this history. You can feel the respect and the care that you take in making these videos and it makes it so much more immersive when you watch it. That means more than you know, kids today will enjoy and seek out your videos and learn what the schools don’t teach anymore. So from a father of a young kid, thank you for cataloging history so it will continue to live through the future generations.

This collection was amazing and I love the way it has covered so much of American history not just relics related to Gettysburg. The casing from the bullet that struck Oswald is something every collection would die for, actually so many of these artifacts are treasures and one of a kinds.
For people that can not travel around to visit these Museums, this video is great and the way you had the director of the Museum giving a personal tour it felt like I was actually there getting the tour myself. Gotta give props to the director, who seemed just as excited to be telling the stories of the artifacts as I was hearing about them. Thank you.

What I find sad too is that from time to time at these battlefields some poor soldier's remains are still being found. I've been to Mannasas and it is a somber site. How Lincoln kept the Union together with this level of casualties in a relatively small country as far as population is beyond me. They say after the Civil War ladies wore black more than any other color for years.

@@TheHistoryUnderground My dad was in Europe during WW2, with the US Army, and could hold people spellbound for hours with his stories. He saw a lot of action in four or five campaigns. He brought back a lot of souvenirs. I have the box of items in storage in Virginia (I'm a US expat in Bogota, Colombia; my wife is Colombian). I took the box in 2007 after my mother died. Before we moved to Colombia, we opened the box, which hadn't been done in years, and there were less items than I remember. One of the items that was not there was a yellow star that Jews were forced to wear. I vaguely remember my parents telling me, years ago, they had donated it. After watching your video, I thought that it's a shame I couldn't donate it to this museum in Gettysburg.

A great video of historical items. I’m the son of a WW2 Polish Catholic Army combat veteran who fought the Germans in Warsaw in 1939 and later in France in 1940. My mother is a Jewish Holocaust survivor from Vienna Austria. She was only one of a few family members who were able to escape. Her mother ( my grandmother) and 23 other family members (the youngest being 3 years old)were all massacred by the Germans. I feel these items should be preserved . I have a SS M40 helmet with shrapnel holes and my father liked that helmet. It was hard to make him talk about what he saw the Germans do in Warsaw but the few things he told me I can’t blame him for hating the Germans and what they did. Keep up the good work with these videos and collecting these items.

In my very short visit to Gettysburg, I went to that museum, I could spend decades there, but a 3 years old son and especially wife, I was there for 5 minutes !
A must stop if you visit Gettysburg!
Thank you for sharing it !

I went here last year. Insanely overwhelming so much to look at. The WW2 displays are the most impressive in my opinion. They have two human skulls from the pacific that were brought back

If you ever make it to East Tennessee, please, please, please go to the General Longstreet Museum. The guys running that place are doing amazing work, and are woefully underrated, much like General Longstreet’s story.
    Loving the Gettysburg videos!!

Sir, just happened upon your video and since my ancestors were from Gettysburg and my g-g-g-grandfather served in Co. K I decided to check it out. You cannot imagine how stunned I was when his belt buckle was one of the artifacts shown. Michael Miller was wounded at Spotsylvania and to see his belt buckle was awesome! Thank you so much for this video!

I just discovered your excellent channel!!! What awesome narration!! I’ve been enjoying the Gettysburg rangers and their walks and special programs for a while, but now this branching out to other historic places and subject matter is a welcome addition! I love this guy as narrator and I can’t wait for the Presidents series to unfold.
Keep up the excellent work! I’ve been referring this channel to everyone I know who loves history like I do!

Words cannot express how many fascinating items are on display at this museum! At first I thought it would be just Civil War items but turned out to be items from several wars, items from presidents, famous war individuals, and so much more! The collections are truly magnificent and if possible to be seen in person at its location in Gettysburg, Pa.
