Reading a score sheet is another language. Then playing an instrument. Musicians are artists that are on same level as graduate students of business, science, philosophy, etc. This Rocky theme is also good to evaluate speakers. In the stereo shows I attended in the 1980’s, jazz and metal instrument music was popular to listen to speakers; no rock guitar distortion, and more listenable than classical.
@Gael Alexandre Rosa I quit band, but only because I didn’t like my director and he didn’t choose good music, also Was never in jazz band, kinda wish I was, but I didn’t want to put fourth the effort. I just enjoy listening to the music, not as much playing it anymore.
We have the best tenor in our band and his solos are the things to make everyone fall for him and he always does his own thing and not what is written so it is even better
just improvise the parts that you can't do, it's a solo so unless someone has the sheet music on them they won't know you did anything different than what the score said
