Awesome video man, been doing the duct tape thing myself since late fall lmao. I'd say you're right on point with the weather seal grabbing the window. Cold morning heading to school and clunk. Though, I think I seen recall the seal being "sticky" in much hotter temps. Could be it just doesn't do well in hot and/or cold temps. I don't get VW and the things they make plastic that shouldn't be plastic. Anyways thanks for making a short but sweet video. Hi, I would like to say thanks. You probably saved me from a huge headache. I’m glad i stopped and checked out your video before proceeding with taking everything apart. Once i had seen your video, the hardest part was getting the glass back out of the door and then easy to set up on the track and retighten the bolts. Again, thanks.
Instead of using duct tape, you can jam a bit of wood underneath the glass inside the door to hold it up, my a3 was rolling about like that for a year or so
good video. my 2001 did the same thing late last fall. I just parked it in the pole barn for the winter, but now that the weather is getting nicer, I might try and go fix it. Thank u for uploading this. It helped.
How the fuck did you get this window on back on the track? I'm an hour into this. About to just set the car on fire and be done with it. This is like removing the engine to change a spark plugs. I may never want power windows again after this.
I got it now. I broke most my clips. I just had a hell of a time gripping the window to pull it up. Once I had the window where I could grab it, the rest was easy. But getting to the window, I still had to remove both panels
