I typically don’t watch a full interview but hearing two of the best in their respective sport talking about similar traumatic brain injuries cutting their careers short is a must listen regardless if you’re a NASCAR or NFL fan. This is a must watch/listen
Luke should be eligible for the upcoming Hall of Fame vote, and I believe he 100% deserves the honor of a first ballot induction. One of the greatest players ever without a doubt
He was very good for ~3-5 seasons but look at the careers of first ballot linebackers, you are talking the best to ever do it and I dont think he quite had the longevity of greatness to be mentioned in the Singletary, Lewis echelon. Heck, Sam Mills was better if you look at the totality of his career.
I met Luke after his rookie year and he was legitimately one of the nicest and most humble people ive ever met. He puts that helmet on tho and hes an absolute animal. I personally believe hes the greatest MLB in the history of the NFL
Growing up, I loved two sports: NASCAR and NFL. Dale Jr. was my favorite driver, and Luke was my favorite player for my favorite team. This podcast is a dream. Great job, Dirty Mo!
Awesome show today Dale Jr... and Luke... inspiring to see grown, respected and trusted men talk about such a "tough guy" topic... and being okay with facing reality and healthy outcomes. Appreciate you Dale Jr... from out here in Oregon!
Thank you for having Luke on your program. I have been wanting to hear him speak on his career, experiences, and life after being on the field. Dale, I remember when you started doing these podcast, you said it was a way to help to connect with your dad. Plus, you wanted to document the history of NASCAR. Your interview style has developed over time and is very smooth. I like how you let the person you are interacting with complete their thoughts. Thank you.
Thanks for talking about brain injury I have had multiple concussions and a tbi in the army and never knew they were treatable I was living life where my mind was constantly foggy got treated and now I’m shaper than ever no more brain fog
Have had 5 concussions. If I were given the option of getting another concussion or losing a finger...take my finger!!! They are hell. Great discussion.
Excellent podcast. Glad Jr. touched on the brain injury/concussion subject with Luke. Always was a fan of Luke and was great to hear some of his story.
Got in bad car wreck a couple years back i suffered a grade 3 concussion I had to learn how to walk and talk again my family and friends thought i was overreacting to things i do feel better now but i still suffer from too much stimulation sometimes thank you Dale and Luke much appreciated
Luke was and is my favorite Carolina Panther ever! As a fan living in the Charlotte area it is great that he is still around the team and the community. I was at the Thursday night game against New Orleans when he was carted off of the field. It was sold out and you could hear a pin drop. It was such a gut punch. It warms this fans heart to see him doing well.
Nothing I love more than seeing Luke still being around and doing things. He is an alum of where I went to high school so it's always awesome to see a St. Xavier Bomber being successful
Love Luke Kuechly. For some reason, thought he went to Linebacker U (Penn St). Really great to hear these stories and awesome that they shared their respective experiences with concussions. Having played football for 14 years and lacrosse for 7, I have had my fair share of diagnosed concussions and a few undiagnosed ones. I still struggle with the aftermath of TBI. Awesome show, boys.
So many of us dont have access (or at least feel like we dont) to a guy like Mickey Collins. Super greatful to hear discussions with this. These discussions along with Dale's book helped me majorly with some issues I dealt with. Hearing the story of the baseball player with the current going one way and the boat going the other wiping them out hit me so hard. A lot of people dont realize it can be something that simple that can put you out. Thanks for having these discussions for all of us to learn from!
This is genuinely one of the best podcast episodes I've listened to in a long time. Dale is a helluva interviewer and so personable. Luke seems like a great dude. 10/10
I have always appreciated Luke’s on field performance and professionalism. Hearing him talk about the variety of topics in detail during this interview shows how much effort he puts into mentally training himself on all of the details of any topic. This is what sets him apart from many others, his ability to do the study ahead of doing the task. Amazing guy, excellent conversation!
Awesome job on this interview with Luke! Your in depth questions helped us all learn more about the defensive structure, play calling etc....VERY Interesting Dale.....Thanks man
These are so compelling - you can't turn it off - good to cook brunch to it, eat, clean the dishes, send some emails etc! Junebug is a master at getting people to open up and tell their life stories - good job 👍 🏈🕺 M in Miami : )
Luke will never be forgiven for what he did to my cowboys on Thanksgiving but he's one of the best ever! Glad he has stayed in our state and he's healthy. HOF bound
Great interview some great questions asked, also as much as it sucked to see him retire early because he was so good to watch it's great to see him now it's recollection of names, plays and dates etc showing no signs of any concussion related symptoms
Luke was a very great player. He reminded me a lot of Ray Rithehe #66 for Green Bay, also in the off-season when he was working with Grey Greg was used to working with the people from the university of Miami and his teammates so I know that made him a lot stronger and a lot better
As an Athletic Trainer it was great to hear these two talk about how they dealt with concussions, how it affected them differently, and the course of action taken to assist their recovery.
When Luke touched on him knowing it was time and he had like one game left. He didnt want to do it in training camp etc. I instantly thought of Andrew Luck and the backlash he faced. I always disliked the hate Luck got for that. I always saw it as he wanted to try/play so bad but after all the offseason drills/camps he knew he could not be himself after trying.
Jr is or was way to guilty about his injury fans still an allways will love him an his dad he couldnt control getting hurt better to be alive an healthy
Born & raised ENC, lifelong Panthers fan. All my people hated Luke retired cuz it was kinda the beginning of the era's end, but everybody i knew "supported" his decision
I took my son to the Bears training camp in 2010. The enormity of NFL players truly doesn't translate. Julius Peppers met my then 11 year old son and my son came up to his waist 😂
Yo I don't care what anyone says Matthew McConaughey and Woody harrelson are definitely Brothers don't believe me go out and do the research yourself it's pretty mind-boggling and crazy.. so every time I watch true detective and I see those two together I'm like yeah they are definitely definitely Brothers
Lightweight man! Grew up in North Dakota 30 miles from the Canadian border. Played football outside from a little kid through college year round. Sub zero temps all the time. The Vikings played outside through 1981. What Luke is talking about is normal in December & January!
He needs to have the questions more succinct. Without bringing in 4-5 more layers of personal context. On one hand it's cool that he shares his entire thought process, but it does impede a little.
WhatchutalkinboutWillis? It always amazes me when people dis something when it has so much meaningful content! Dang, I’m about as far from being a football fan as you can be (never heard his name before for example) and I was intrigued and enriched by the conversation. Better than a self-help seminar or a business coaching event because there were more contemplative elements and “clues” as to how to become great than any of the former. You can benefit and be blessed with wisdom when you are willing to expand your mind!
I don't think Jr realizes how good of an interviewer he is. Great job as always really enjoyed this one especially going outside the box of racing.
This was a seriously great interview.. such in depth questions and answers you wouldn’t hear on most NFL shows!

This has been by far one of my favorite Podcasts!!! 2 of my All time favorites together!!!
I met Luke after his rookie year and he was legitimately one of the nicest and most humble people ive ever met. He puts that helmet on tho and hes an absolute animal. I personally believe hes the greatest MLB in the history of the NFL
Great interview, Luke was one of the smartest players in football and I miss watching him play

Well said 👍

This was great. Love Luuuuuukkkkkeeeeeeeee💪💪💪
Luke was a seriously good football player. Respect.
Statistically the best LB during his time in the league. Total beast
He is one of the best to ever play MLB
Excellent podcast. Glad Jr. touched on the brain injury/concussion subject with Luke. Always was a fan of Luke and was great to hear some of his story.

What a great and insightful interview with Luke. It was such a shock when he retired, so glad he is doing so well today!

Damn this was a good one. Dale actually lets people talk and explain their whole side of the story. This entire podcast was so fluid
Great podcast. Nice to hear Luke talk openly bout his concussions. Two class guys chatting!
Glad you enjoyed it!

this is the first time i’ve watched this podcast. junior is a helluva interviewer. definitely going to be back for more

We miss you on the Panthers Luke! Dude was a beast!

Thank you for watching.
My first time watching Dale Jrs’ podcast and I’m hooked. Great interview.

Yeah, he is like Clark Kent almost. Clean and professional off the field and an animal on the football field.
I really enjoyed this broadcast, Thank you JR for what u do.
Nice one. Appreciate the in-depth football talk.
Luke sounds like genius about football. Go coach LUKE!!!!! We love ya in NC. From a Dallas fan...
What a great conversation. Thank you both
This is probably the best podcast I’ve ever watched. This is an amazing interview
So fascinating listening to Luke breakdown plays and the verbiage used. Extremely intelligent.
Awesome job on this interview with Luke! Your in depth questions helped us all learn more about the defensive structure, play calling etc....VERY Interesting Dale.....Thanks man
Luke was nominated for the 2025 pro football hall of fame in his first year of eligibility
Two awesomely humble men who prove you can be a leader and a success without being arrogant or a jerk.
These are so compelling - you can't turn it off - good to cook brunch to it, eat, clean the dishes, send some emails etc! Junebug is a master at getting people to open up and tell their life stories - good job 👍 🏈🕺 M in Miami : )
PS I'm only in hour one and I can't hang up haha - am doing work social media posts while listening - these are so great and motivating too 🎉 M.
Luke will never be forgiven for what he did to my cowboys on Thanksgiving but he's one of the best ever! Glad he has stayed in our state and he's healthy. HOF bound
Very intelligent man. Not football fan but enjoyed this interview.
Great interview some great questions asked, also as much as it sucked to see him retire early because he was so good to watch it's great to see him now it's recollection of names, plays and dates etc showing no signs of any concussion related symptoms
Love both Dale Jr. and Luke Kuechly....and great honest conversation about concussions around the 01:24:28 mark and 01:39:44 mark.
I was always so mad that Notre Dame didn’t recruit Luke. He was phenomenal at BC
Luke was a very great player. He reminded me a lot of Ray Rithehe #66 for Green Bay, also in the off-season when he was working with Grey Greg was used to working with the people from the university of Miami and his teammates so I know that made him a lot stronger and a lot better

I’m 20mins in and I’m fooking loving it.. Let’s go thanks DJD
"where are we going"?
@@jamesheiden696 where ever Jr is driving
His dad was at my shop today, great guy and raised a great family, Luke is a stand up guy
Definitely watching this entire thing I cannot believe you got Luke on the show that's so cool
Great episode ❤
Awesome ! Sad that both careers got cut short, but the best decisions not to continue were great ones. Two class guys having a nice conversation !
It is so cool to see Dale Jr. back ❤ 😍
Hey DJ, very nice interview with Luke.
This was excellent!!!
Junior was a Hall of Fame driver. He’s a better interviewer. Awesome stuff.
I saw Jr.'s original interview on his cocusions. I knew what he was talking about! Every word! Been there, done that!!
Shoot this is interesting. Kuechly was such a stud
Yeah.
1 of the best LBs i ever saw
Fantastic conversation…you can tell Jr respects tf out of LK! Super cool to watch 🤘
Fantastic guest. Absolute beast between you too
Jr is or was way to guilty about his injury fans still an allways will love him an his dad he couldnt control getting hurt better to be alive an healthy
Dale , you knocked this one out of the park too , great interview , u fogged it
Great interview!! Thank you!
Watching Luke at BC was amazing
Born & raised ENC, lifelong Panthers fan. All my people hated Luke retired cuz it was kinda the beginning of the era's end, but everybody i knew "supported" his decision
I watched the interview that Jr. did years ago, I found out then, the truth. Great doctor. I never had that chance. I really did try to contact Jr.
I’m hearing coach Luke for the Panthers before to long.
That would be awesome!
Luuuuuuuuuuuuke!!! Future Hall of Famer
Really interesting thank you
Salt Pepper! Oh boy I would have been laughing my ass off on the sideline!
Luke is a awesome guy! I can't wait to see him in the HOF!
Awesome episode!
Love this!
Great show!!
Amazing
Get Cleetus with dale jr. would be massive.
I miss seeing Luke on the field. But he is right. Seeing him at 70%, as he says, would have been frustrating as a fan.
The moment Luke rode off on the cart was burned into my mind. It's a scary moment as a fan and it's nice to see that he can laugh about it now.
LLUUUUUUUUUKKE!
Luke and Steve Smiths up for the HoF this year....hopefully atleast one makes it
Hey! He got his guy.
I took my son to the Bears training camp in 2010. The enormity of NFL players truly doesn't translate. Julius Peppers met my then 11 year old son and my son came up to his waist 😂

I wish I had seen that doctor. Real help, never got it. I would love to see that material. My, so called doctor, NEVER did any of that.
I wish you was still I Carolina 😢, but your health is more important . But I hope WB cast you as the next Superman 😂
Product of Cincinnati, OH.
When's the last time you have seen a Knee Pad on any football player?
Lightweight man! Grew up in North Dakota 30 miles from the Canadian border. Played football outside from a little kid through college year round. Sub zero temps all the time. The Vikings played outside through 1981. What Luke is talking about is normal in December & January!
Worst shin splints ever. Screw in cleats. Looked kool but were horrible
Bruce Campbell}Ash
Nascar can collapse and Trump and Elon both can see lead.
Dale jr is the worst interviewer. Keeps asking questions and not letting Luke answer them
He needs to have the questions more succinct. Without bringing in 4-5 more layers of personal context. On one hand it's cool that he shares his entire thought process, but it does impede a little.
My god the adds dont you have enough money
Mike Davis has just run out of ideas at this point I see
One of the better guests if you know nfl
WhatchutalkinboutWillis?
