    And just to make sure everyone's clear, ExVoto63 has also admitted Odinga had not officially announced candidacy because the election had not been called yet.

    I'll tell you why it matters: being seen with Odinga that much would have been a more touchy issue had there been an election going on. Since there wasn't, Obama can justifiably claim to have been neutral in the race. And, in fact, when the election was stolen and the violence broke out, Obama made a statement that - in my view - indicated almost too much impartiality: he referred to Kibaki as "President Kibaki" and Raila as "opposition leader Odinga".

    It true that Obama is a Kenyan & it should b geven full support to Raila odinga.

    Obama should go back a listen to this speech, it sounds like America now.

  • @ChikeJ
    @ChikeJ 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not surprised someone from the ruling party would be upset about Odinga's ability to attach himself to Obama. I'm not confused about how happy Odinga was to bring light to himself by appearing with "his cousin" (again, not literally true). I'm just saying Obama had no reason to say "there's an election going on, I shouldn't be seen with you or it might look like I'm taking sides".
    And I encourage all to read Obama's inspiring speech about Kenya's (and Africa's) epic struggle.

  • @missi625

    I doubt if Obama wanted to run Kenya. It looks to me that in his first term and now in this one as if he is not even giving Kenya a second thought.I think Kenyans are more concerned about Obama than Obama is concerned about them.

  • @ChikeJ
    @ChikeJ 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    And one last point: it is Raila himself who called Obama his cousin. But saying it doesn't make it true. It isn't.

    @canaryman69 Here are a small list of the promises Obama has already fulfilled:
    1.) He repealed "don't ask don't tell"
    2.) He passed the healthcare reform bill.
    3.) He repealed the ban in Stem cell research, which will help scientist find cure for grave diseases
    4.) He passed the financial regulation reform
    5.) He help save the banks and the car companies and saved million of jobs.
    6.) He passed the bill for 9/11 first responders to help them with their heath issues.

    @canaryman69 I agree with you, the US is in bad shape: we need to reduce the deficit, get the private sector to start hiring again and improve in math and science in public school.
    America has faced greater perils in the past and survived them all: the Great Depression, the economic malaise of the 80's, we defeated Hitler and we put a man in the mood.
    We will overcome these problems again.

    Far below expectation. Much as we celebrated Obama as the first black and in fact Kenyan ascending to Presidency in the United States, either he was misinformed but shows a lot of tribal bias like any other Kenyan. I wish he used his position to shun tribalism in Kenya. We are disillusioned. Even the Kenyans living in the United states do not feel the same enthusiasm they had when Obama won. All we know is that he is a smart guy and that is it. Did Odinga mess him up? Did Kenya benefit at all from his presidency? At least Pre. Bush honored Kibaki witha 21 gun salute.

    Okay, Mr. Obama didn't campaign with Odinga. Deal with the following:
    A direct quote from a Chicago Sun-Times article by Lynn Sweet on August 29, 2006 entitled: "Senator rebukes Kenya's corruption":
    Obama appeared with opposition leader Raila Odinga -- a Luo running for president -- at stops on Saturday in his father's native district.
    Mutua, in the CBS2 interview, said Obama may have been caught up in ethnic politics with Odinga "using Sen. Obama as his stooge, as his puppet.''

    So you're basically arguing your point based on hearsay huh? I must tell you I've read that book and nowhere in that book does it say the things you're talking about. I suggest you read it yourself it's not that big, so don't be scared. If you can read Twilight and Hunger games, it's not even half that. Summary: A man grew up without his dad and went out of his way to find out who he was. It's pretty much his life story and not about a dream. Read it.

    This video elicits a number of questions, among which are:
    Why would Obama seemingly support Odinga, aka the "Butcher of Kenya," establish Sharia law in Kenya?
    Where did the money come from supporting Obama's flights to Kenya? [ American tax dollars?]
    Why didn't the American media present this?

    • @alambez
      @alambez 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ushie Mayna Odinga is a christian. Am a kenyan

    • @ushiemayna
      @ushiemayna 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Philip Alambo I don't think Odinga is Christian.
      I've two very close childhood friends that joined the Peace Corps. They so happened to be stationed in Kenya; in the very village Barack Obama was born in. They know his grandmother,his tribe and even had seen the exact hut in Kenya he was born in.
      In early 2007,at a time when the name Barack Obama was hardly known to anyone they were curious as to how this Illinois senator was obtaining money to help Odinga establish Sharia law in Kenya. I told them not only did I not know how Obama was obtaining the money for his frequent flights to Kenya;I told them I never even HEARD of anyone named "Obama!"
      They sent me videos they had taken of Obama speaking to the people the village in Kenya he was born to the Kenyan people trying to convince them to embrace Sharia.
      At that time I I thought nothing of it..
      However in 2008 when Obama declared he was running to be the President of the United States my Peace Corps friends couldn't understand how a man born in Kenya would be eligible to run for that office as one need be a native born American which he was not. I also was confused regarding that.
      And when he actually won the Presidency I showed the videos they sent to me from Kenya on a site called My Space.
      I would show them to you except after showing them on My Space the F.B.I.paid me an early morning visit at my home and confiscated my computer; claiming they had reason to believe I was running a kiddie porn ring.
      {REALLY! What a crock of sh*t!}.
      They did return my computer after about a week with every video of Obama making speeches in Kenya to help Odinga establish Sharia scrubbed off my computer.
      Go figure!
      Ushie

    • @alambez
      @alambez 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ushie Mayna I am really shocked with what you are telling me, because his father was Kenyan while the mother was an American. I do not have much details about Obama's youthful years, but I am sure of Odinga's religion because I happen to be a Luo, Odinga's tribe. Raila Odinga belongs to the "Legio Maria" religious sect, which is related to Nomiya Church founded by Johanna Owalo, a 19th century prophet who formed the first African independent church. The ascension of Obama to power was met with shock in Kenya, especially among the Luo community, because this prophet once stated that there is a Luo who will later be the most powerful man on earth. I do not know whether it is Obama as some people claim.

    • @ushiemayna
      @ushiemayna 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All I can write to you is from what my friends I've had since childhood have told me. They are now married and had joined the Peace Corps and were, and still are, stationed in the village that Obama was born in. I wish I still had the videos they sent to me. {I told you the FBI came to my home,took my computer and scrubbed every one of those videos} Considering that they are close friends with no reason to make up lies to me and that considering that in 2007 the name Barack Obama was hardly known and surely not upon the list to ever run for Pres.of the U.S. all seems to be as so they stated.
      Anyway I am no longer in the U.S.
      Also,what would I have to gain if you felt I made up this story?
      Besides, Barack Obama is almost finished with his term of office.
      Ushie

    @canaryman69 China owns about 27% of our debts, which is a very high percentage.
    The Chinese students are number #1 in international math and science tests globally and the business people are intellectually aggressive and want to win.
    So far, they have refused to let their currency (The Yuan) float freely, so their goods and services are cheaper than other countries.
    We need to get the Chinese to help the rest of the world recover by spending more and re-evaluating their currency.

Now that we will vote Mama Hillary Clinton, we can only hope she will declare amnesty to bring those millions to proper documentation.

    If you go back far enough, most people have ancestors that were treated very badly. It's not something that they can change, so they do the best that they can and learn from history so as not to repeat it.

    You are woefully uninformed. I was in Kenya shortly before the election. Odinga inspired people. This sense of inspiration turned to frustration when Kibaki stole the election, but that still does not make him the primary cause of the violence. The causes run much deeper in Kenya's history.
    Meanwhile, even people I knew who were afraid of Odinga before the election now say that the coalition government with him and Kibaki is working well.
