I will be staying in the dwell for several months in January , the owner is a really nice and helpful Thai….have stayed in one of her other condos in the past . Always enjoy your videos…
Thank you, Joe. Another great video. LiveZen is a great little hotel. Not sure if it's considered serviced-apartments or a long-term stay hotel but it's great. They have work and conference space (Live Work Asia) attached to the hotel which is convenient for setting up meetings. Reasonably priced. Manager and staff are wonderful!
I try to watch most of your videos. Always good information. I miss Bangkok! Been back in Oregon 1 month now, finally cooled off! LOL. I get high and tight, just easier to manage. Tons of places all over for $3-6 (at least on Samui where I went).
Oh ya, there are plenty in BKK too. The problem is if you wanted longer hair, you'll get the high and tight. It's just the Thai style. 450b is a little high. But, once a month is fine.
Enjoying your vids! I’ve travelled extensively and have status in Hilton/IHG/Marriott, so appreciate your showing/commenting on the properties and showing shortcuts (lol)
Enjoyable video as always, thank you. Funny that you mentioned Big Lots, I'm also a Big Lots shopper, and actually have been to one in San Diego, ages ago, when I needed a small duffel bag for some reason... hadn't thought of that in forever.
Ya, you can get a 140b haircut around Phrom Phong too. It will be a 10 minute cut. If you want a little more attention to detail, that comes at a cost. No matter where you get the cut. Hey, thank you for watching.
Packed full of good info, Joe. Really, really enjoyed the day with you😅 Your neighborhood is beautiful with all the trees and greenery. I’m getting hungry now 🍜
My day is pretty much the same except I get up a little bit earlier and hit the gym first thing in the morning. If I’m ever feeling jaded, I just try to put things into perspective that most men just dream about having a life I live every day and then I come to my senses. For those of you with dreams of retiring Bangkok and Thailand stay home and make a ton of money. Bangkok is fabulous . Try not to do it on the cheap.👍
Hi Joe, I messaged you late last year about staying at the Lucky Hotel, you did a quick video tour of the outside of it for me, which was so kind of you. It’s November I am travelling to Bangkok but I opted to stay in Ekamai. Cheers, Tom.
thank you for the useful information! there is a good and quite food court near by your condo, or some others good condo you did show to us. My best regards to yuo & and pls keep us updated about BKK .
I had to smile when you said about establishing a good relationship with a barber in BKK. My Thai husband is a hairdresser, and thus haircuts are free; it is just a shame that I am not back for another 75 days.
I’m a tourist but last time I was in that IKEA, it seemed like forever to walk through it. Like all IKEAs, they have a path that takes you through the entire store whether you like it or not. 😅. I guess I need to find the exits that can get you out sooner. Lol
good to see your barber doing good,,,that he had to hire another....... like the area,,,,,it looks busy BUT you can be a few blocks off where it is quiet
Hello from Mira Mesa, just came across your video, and it was nice seeing a simple day in the life of an expat from S.D. I myself am just beginning the homework on comparing and contrasting Thailand and the Philippines. As so many have done before me. My best bud is in the process of buying a condo in the Philippines, so that's gonna be my first trip. It seems that Thailand is a bit more modern and convenient in some senses. Thoughts on that ? Looking forward to your next video . Cheers !!
Your building looks same age as mine Saitharn Condominium (1992) (70m2) bought 2004 ฿2.2m bargain. Currently renovating almost finished. Ceiling and built-ins all taken out, high ceiling now, new electrical wiring entire condo including new plumbing, industrial style open plan with 1 wall divide taken out also. Thanks for the video. Lived in Bangkok 20 years and so many streets in that area never been 😊🤭
I am curious about how you get along in Bangkok without speaking Thai? Is the language barrier only a small hindrance or can it get in the way in important ways? Do a lot of people speak English there? Or do you speak Thai or some Thai?
I speak a little Thai, but in 99% of expat areas, you'll speak English. I love the Philippines youtubers who say they don't speak English in Thailand. I've been to the Philippines a dozen times. I heard way more Tagalog than English.
Hi there Joe... I love watching your videos... I'm from Cape Town ,South Africa... By the way....The name of that building 🏢..." KRAAM" is in Afrikaans Maternity 😂😂😂😂😂
I've never seen a snake. As far as the toilet, that's more a once in a lifetime. That's why it's all over the Internet. If you move to a small country house, yes, you might get all kinds of snakes. In BKK, it's not a concern.
It's a big city. There can be pollution. But the real problem is when they burn the sugar cane between January and as late as March. I don't care where you live. You will have smog from that. Everywhere in SE Asia. In Bangkok, I'd say 75% of the time the air out my window looks clean and blue. Other days, it looks bad. If you listen to the experts, it's bad every day. So who knows.
@@EagerExpat I was born in Philadelphia, but grew up outside of Chicago. Been in south Florida about 25 years. Next stop Thailand! Hope you’re enjoying Japan.🙏
It may not be a problem for you at a Thai condo. If you refuse to give your finger print and take a picture at the airport, you won't be entering Thailand. Or most countries for that matter. I just did finger prints to enter Japan yesterday. I'm not wild about all that myself, but I think my finger prints, even my social security number is in 1,000,000 data banks by 2024. You can't even walk down the street in any major city without a CCTV camera keeping track of you. It is what it is. I'm not going to stay inside all day.
I like how you just walk across hotel lobby to other hotel. It help when you know your way around 👍
Yes, I love living in Phrom Phong. I went home when I wanted to, when I lived in On Nut, but that involved getting a car. A pain
Hi from a fellow TH-camr who might move from France to this part of Bangkok one day.
Loved you giving real daylife information on this neighborhood.
Ya, man. Come on over. Bangkok is great.
@@EagerExpat I will. Definitely!

I was very close to moving into Dwell. Nice building
Bangkok is glorious ❤
Bkk is a great town

Love your videos and commentary 😊

Enjoy, Bro! I'm retired in Bangkok also, and live just across Sukhumvit on Soi 39. Phrom Phong is the best neighborhood in town!
A little over 2 years retired here. It feels like 6 months. Now I want time to slow down. Ha ha

You stay in expensive area of Bangkok. Hair cut costs around 120-140THB for local Thai out skirt of Bangkok.

BKK is great. I like to hit the gym or swim my laps in the evening. But, everyday is different.

That's great to hear. 75 days will fly by.
This is the first time I've seen Bangkok described as easy to walk lol, but I guess it has been improving.
I walk everywhere in Bangkok. I guess by easy, I meant it's very safe. Plus, after the streets of New York City, Bangkok is a playground.
I’m a tourist but last time I was in that IKEA, it seemed like forever to walk through it. Like all IKEAs, they have a path that takes you through the entire store whether you like it or not. 😅. I guess I need to find the exits that can get you out sooner. Lol

I was still breathing that day. Ha ha. Just arrived in Tokyo. Nice and cool. 22c

I might check out Story if I need a go between. Price seems reasonable if they still would accept 21K.
It's a nice location. The 21k banner is gone, but you may get close.
Great video! Thanks for the tour. I have a question when you use the Wi-Fi’s do you have a VPN? 🙏
I do use a VPN. I have a link in the video description to Surfshark/incognito VPN. It's worked great for years

MEA app for Electric
I just scan the bill. All Thai banks have the MEA, AIS, True, etc.. loaded
Bosun chairs....
There are men working aloft. Do not rotate or radiate.
Arm barber shop I don’t think I would go if it was foot barber shop. I know corny.
Ha ha. Arms a good guy
I have never actually tried it but from what I know, I am just the type of dirty old man that would be addicted to nuru massage
Ha ha. Worse things to be addicted to.
Boots on the ground, thanks.
