You can't always have your way. A difference of opinion doesn't mean the other person hates you it just means you have different viewpoints or ideas. Just because you've never heard of something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Conversely, if you discover something and it's new to you doesn't mean that it's new to everyone else. Lastly having an adverse opinion solely for the sake of being the odd person out, being the voice of dissent or the contrarian, is not a sign of intelligence. It's just plain obnoxious.

What's funny is I know this, and I accept it, but some adults refuse to accept that they can't be right all the time and like to use the fact I'm 19 and younger than them as a vantage in their arguments against me, it's frankly, a petty ass thing to do and quite pathetic especially when I've put more effort into the subject at hand than them, I've dedicated over half my life span to researching art, turtles and TMNT as those are my hyperfixations and yet my mother argues with me over colour theory, idiots argue with me on tortoises without al much as a Google search (they're in the same species as turtle, all tortoises are turtles, not all turtles are tortoises), and luckily majority of cases of me arguing over TMNT stuff is a misunderstanding, most of my TMNT interactions are quite pleasant with me having been in the fandom since I was 8 getting to teach the younger fans about how accepting TMNT is to all people, I honestly love seeing younger people get into the fandom via rise and mutant mayhem, and knowing majority of them will most likely dive into the older series as they get more into the franchise makes me even happier cause it means the franchise most likely will never die

@@LeonardoHamato I feel like your mom is being ornery. I totally agree that people who are older like to talk down to those who are younger as if they don't know what they're talking about. I used to have a friend like this. She lorded her age over me because she had eighteen years more life experience than me. It made her quite obnoxious. She just could not accept that she couldn't be right about something or not get the last word or be the center of attention, be center stage or be front-and-center of everybody's life. If that sounds at all telling to you, it's because I later discovered she was a narcissist who would even sell her own kids up the river to get what she wanted out of life. So I totally agree with everything you have to say and it's obvious that you have something that you dedicate your time too and are passionate about. Don't ever let anyone try to steal your joy or make you less passionate about something that you care about. It's your hobby, it's your interest, not theirs. The hell with them..

Yep, 30s is when your parents and people in your family start dying. You have those moments of 'oh, shit, I'm the adult now.' The thing is, I remember being little and my uncles with kids being just as immature as me now. It's more shocking to me that I as a little innocent kid trusted fully in these people who also have no idea what they were doing. Its scary that little kids are so trusting, I dont want to let them down.

My contribution is this: emotions aren't 'reasons.' You can try to blame your actions and behaviours on emotions, but that doesn't make your actions reasonable, acceptable, or appropriate. And while you can't control which emotions you experience, you can always choose to behave differently than your impulses tell you to behave. It's not easy or fun to learn how to do, but it will significantly improve the quality of your mental health and personal relationships.

by mid 30's you will lose people dear to you, your grandparents, parents, etc, and if you are unlucky friends. It will never stop to hurt, but you will have to learn to live with that, remembering the good. also the 50+ friends you had when 15 will turn into less than 10 by 30 and you will see them only once every couple of months by age 60 you only will have 1 or 2 of those friends and see them 1 o 2 times a year, by 80 more than half of those(50+) friends will be no more. so never say no when a friend ask you to talk or hang out, a couple of years ago a friend call me and I said, better tomorrow (so he went on a excursion) 2 days after that they found him...(no need to be more explicit)

The social media part where a post can ruin your life, maybe 5-10 years but that’s supper rare and that happens if your famous. Most people won’t care what you post 5-10 years ago. People shouldn’t care, people are young and make stupid mistakes. Shouldn’t have to be treated like you committed murder. Guess what feelings get hurt canceling someone because of a old post won’t make feelings better

As a teenager, I shall give my opinion of this comments while I watch:
S1: Ok, I agree on that. The body is fragile, and I Don't Want to end bruised up. I just keep on my lane and know When I have to shut up and avoid problems.
S2: all I got from This is that the same sense of humor can be found everywhere/When, and I could not love it More.
S3: I prefer to look at how I have Improved instead of talking smack of my younger versions. And I have done really stupid stuff. But I like to give credit even at my 5yo self that I tried my best.
S4/S5: Well, at least it makes NNN quicker, am I right? (Fun fact, the Spanish speaking community celebrates NNN in September, so here I Am). But without joking, I realized how things like my sister have evolved, and I Know to appreciate the Time I have.
S6: no, contrarianism isn't wisdom, but questioning everything can help you become wiser. Just don't think you're the Last coke of the desert.
S7:tbf, I don't Have any social media apart from TH-cam, and sometimes I'm scared of giving anything in a comment, even thought it is harmless. But I Know that I Can share some stuff with y'all. It's just about finding a balance.
S8: Ahh, Simpsons references I Can't wait to become outdated with them, or share them with the new generations if they manage to keep themselves fresh. It's a win-win.
S9: that is why I still give credit to my younger self, cause it is still me. Some things have changed, others haven't, that is how It goes.
S10:I indeed, cringe at somethings I have done. But that doesn't stop me.
S11: nothing to add, except that I have no rizz (no atractive charm).
S12: I get it, just keep trying, and life is not easy, I've already heard it, moving on.
S13: I haven't seen most of my school friends for a long Time, but we talk like eight times a year. We went our ways, but still look fondly at our friendship. And even if we didn't talk, I wouldn't lose my sleep, for it is no More Than another stage in life.
S:14/S20 :I try to have headphones, and if I forgot them, put the subtitles and turn the volume off. Or if I REALLY want to hear it, put the sound on minimun and put the phone on my ear. No need to annoy others.
S15: fair enough. If I Am going to go to college, It is because want to learn more, not that the Other options are bad.
S16: maybe its because im on the endangered species of heat supremacists, but I Don't understand why people of my age don't shower. A hot shower after a stressing day, both on winter and Summer (Yes, I use hot Water even on Summer, sue me) Is my greatest pleasure in life.
S17: Why would I send pics?
S18: nothing else to add, prevent mistakes, but don't torture yourself if they happen.
S19: 🎵this is the Real liiiife🎵 this is no fantasyyy🎵
S21: yup, everyone has something new to learn. We should just take It easy.
S22:also, the New generations aren't dumber, just a different brand of dumb.
    S23/S24: nothing to add
All and all, a pretty good vídeo.

As a 30 year old, you're right about young people these days not being any dumber. I don't know why, but every generation seems to conveniently forget what they were like as kids/teens. Every generation likes to complain about the generations that come after them for some reason. Even Socrates, who died in 399 BCE, pulled this shit.😂
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

That feeling, like your heart is going to burst, and you'll die if you're not with them? That is not love, that is a crush. You can feel that same feeling for an actor or idol you've never met, without having ever met or talked to them. I know it feels really big, and forever, and like true love, but youcan't trust that feeling. Real love at the very minimum, requires meeting someone and having an actual interaction with them. And just because you dated in middle school for a year, doesn't mean it's forever. You will change, they will change, the the people you become might want nothing to do with eachother.

Influencer isn't a job. It's a byproduct of fame from something else. There's no application to be an influencer. You need to be famous from something else to the point that people want to hear your insignificant opinions. Only then will you MAYBE get a contract to use someone's products and sing its praises.
There's 8 billion people on the planet and only about 100,000 will ever achieve celebrity influencer status. And you don't have a chance of that unless you have rich parents to support you while you spend several years making insignificant efforts to be famous. If you have to work a day job, you will not have the time or energy to do what it takes to be famous. Even if you have the rich parents, your chances are less than 0.00125%.
You're not special. Having insta followers doesn't make you an influencer

10:11 with story 8, reminds of experience with this. I was working as a barista and we had just got a bunch of new hires who were all still in high school. I was training one of the girls how to close. Anytime I would finish a drink she would say yass queen slay or some variation unironically. It through me off so much it was like culture shock. The thing is was 20 at the time. I’m now 22 and it’s beginning to change again. I can’t even blame adults these days because gen z changes their lingo like every few months. I honestly blame TikTok culture and this generation’s excessive need to be trendy and have attention. Once one word is widely known, it’s no longer trendy.

still a teen, but almost out. Being intentionally different doesn't make you cool, or likeable. I hear about it a lot, especially with those Iamnotlikeothergirls subreddits. Unfortunately I fell under this belief for a bit, which is why I point it out particularly, and I got away from it when I realized it was sexist and put down other women. If you don't like a trend or a common style, that's okay, but don't put down people who like that style or type of music, or clothes, or whatever.

My biggest advice for teens reading this:
Don't worry about people making fun of you for liking things, dressing up a certain way, enjoy life the way you do. If you're enjoying it, you do you. If you're not hurting another creature (humans included) you're ok!
Look, I'm a 31 year old furry (time of writing this) and yeah, I get made fun of all the time for it. I wear a tail sometimes with a hoodie w/ears on it! Don't think too much about it. As long as you don't constantly bug people to be into your thing most people don't care. If someone wants to make fun of you for it, let them, then ask them what they are into and "make fun of them" and then ask, "How does it feel?" Most of the time, most people don't like being made fun of and don't like their feelings hurt.
Humans are hypocritical creatures. The best thing you can do is try not to be and when you are acting hypocritical about something, just say, "My bad I didn't mean too" and move on.
also, stop demonizing everyone. People make mistakes, people fuck up, if YOU made a mistake would you not want to forgiven and forgot? Of course you would! So don't demonize people who make a mistake. Let them apologize and hope they don't do it again.
also, a joke is a joke, yes some can hurt, but 90% of the time, they are meant to be in fun. Allow it. Stop overthinking everything. TRUST ME. It's easier that way.

What I've seen a lot is teens getting stick and poke tattoos from friends and thinking that they're not permanent. I work in a very laid back private school and one of my coworkers was 19 when she started working with me. We were talking about things we did in high school and she told me that she wishes she never did stick and poke tattoos with her friends because now she has a few little tattoos on her hands that she did with friends while 16 and drunk.
One of my college roommates was a freshman and was thinking of getting stick and poke tattoos with the girls she was rushing with for a sorority. She quickly changed her mind when I explained that those were permanent because you're still inserting ink into holes in your body that will heal over and stay.
But I also had a roommate my freshman year who said I ruined my life because I got a tattoo on my thigh and jobs don't want people with tattoos. I'm wearing what I wear to work right now and you can see the tail of my tattoo, no one cares. Granted, I'm a TA at a private school and have way more freedom than normal teachers, but no parent has ever said that my tattoo or my coworker's hand tattoos are bad. I'm wearing a Kuromi shirt and have pink hair, not a single parent or older teacher has said anything other than saying it looks cute or asking what color I'm doing next.
I guess the advice I'm giving is, do what you want, but know that it will have consequences and you'll have to live with them. And if you find a laid back job, go with it man, I need to find a second job because I don't take much, but I get so much joy out of working with little kids and doing what I do.

People might say to teenagers that no one wants to hear your devices, but other than random influencers doing stupid stuff in public, I don’t know anyone under the age of 35 who thinks it’s acceptable to do any of the following while in a public space that is at all contained or quiet (such as a small store or bus): a) dictate a text at normal speaking volume; b) have a phone conversation at normal speaking volume that lasts longer than, “hey, can I call you back? I’m on the bus,” or c) GOD FORBID, have a phone call or FaceTime ON SPEAKERPHONE. And yet, it’s constant behavior from any number of people OVER the age of 35 while in the small bookstore where I work, while on public transit, etc. My mom will be in the middle of a group of people having a conversation, see that she has a text, and just….USE VOICE TO TEXT to dictate her response. In the middle of a group of people she’s with! It blows my mind. Something about not growing up with this technology has made older people think all sorts of bizarre things are acceptable behavior while using it, for some reason

      @Fabala827 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Now that I think about it, it’s even weirder that older people think this kind of behavior is acceptable while younger people find it rude. Aren’t these the same people who used to yell at teens for being glued to their phones? And who exactly taught all of us younger millennials and younger what behavior was rude or not? It’s kind of fascinating that with all the fears people used to have about the impact of being so connected, the very people who ARE so fully connected have simultaneously created our own ways of governing that behavior to keep us in line.

As a 20 year old (don't come for me please), THE!! ONLY!! OPINIONS!! THAT!! MATTER!! ARE!! YOURS!!! What I'm saying is, as a beginner writer who likes James Bond, death stranding, team fortress 2, rainbow six siege, call of duty, and actors like Mads Mikkelsen, Lars Mikkelsen, etc, I blow it off when people say, "Stop creating every villain as if Mads Mikkelsen will portray the villain! You'll never be a famous writer!" I tell myself, "It's okay to have an actor in mind when you write the villain. Mads Mikkelsen can play the villain in my story perfectly if it becomes an actual movie. It's okay if they think differently. I'll prove them wrong." It's okay to be inspired by an actor, actress, video game, movie, etc while creating the things you love. As a beginner writer, I write for myself with the hopes of one day becoming a famous writer. If they don't like it, that's okay because I write for myself as of right now. So, don't listen to other people who tell you that you're just a "copycat" because you have the art style, writing style, etc of someone famous. You should only value your opinion about your work.

Worked with a few teens last year and they were using the word "bet", my first thought was oh, what's the bet? Maybe I'll get in on the action, but no, I had to ask what the meaning was behind that, learned it was an agreeing term, like "ok," or "hell ya."

    (Read to end pls)
    Easy since I’m a teen.
    GROW UP!
I’m tired of all of you whining about the tiniest little things, and then insisting that they can do everything an adult can, I’m not saying that you can’t be sad about stuff but just Either decide on being young and a teenager, or act like an adult if you want to be. Stop trying to be both and hurting others.
    Also skibidi toilet isn’t funny,
And finally, start becoming your own person, don’t just follow whatever it is to be popular since in school that’s fine but in the adult world that can be very bad for you if you just chase popularity.

    • @disposablextalent
      @disposablextalent 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hate to say it but what you described in your first paragraph is literally just a part of growing up. You're not nearly as mature as you think you are. Also whether or not you find something funny you really shouldn't be trying to force your own opinion around. Most modern memes irritate me but I'm not going to go around telling people that they can't like it just because I don't. And "becoming your own person" literally requires you to live life, even if that includes following popular trends for a time. Personal growth is not a one way street.

I know it's hard to believe and you probably won't change, but there is something crucially important to remember - almost everything you are going through at the moment means very, very little.
Sounds harsh, but it's true. That person being a bully and ruining your life? Your SO just crushed your heart and you'll never love again? Nobody understanding that your hobby is the "real" you and you hate that they don't drop their lives to support you? Nope. It's fine; you'll get over it.
When I look back at my teenage years and all the drama that came with it... sheesh, like a damned Disney teeneage sitcom. If I ever go back my advice to young me is to just chill out and roll with it. Some day you'll be trying to lean out a roof window and poke a dead pigeon out of some solar panels and suddenly 'Jenny never turned back to look as she walked to the train for the last time' will pop into your head and you will laugh at yourself.
