Counterintuitively, for ivf battalions you really shouldn't use the infantry or get them killed at all. If you lose an ifv all you lose is morale but after the battle you get the transport back as it isn't a 'carded' unit. Its made most obvious with american mech units since the infantry is also really shit with how little hp and ammo it has. add that the mech inf are debuffed when they are outside of a range from a transport but the transport isnt and its even more clear. I generally just dismounted the infantry at the start when they come in and hide them while i go do dumb things with the ifvs.
im not sure if someones told you already but you get a total victory when you take less 20% or less casualties (i.e. if you have 60 loss cap you can take exactly 12 losses and achieve total victory), great game as always and merry Christmas.
In this battle he has 120 points and finished on 108. By your logic anything above 96 (20% losses) should have been a total victory but it was only a major victory :-(

yeah the FISTV still has the m901 launcher chassis in order to disguise itself so enemies won't notice it being different to the others and snipe it
