The original and best spammy move in Street Fighter 2 has to be the fireball so beloved by the Shoto Bros Ryu and Ken.
With the fireball easier to pull off than a dragon punch, from the second we mastered the quarter circle forward and punch combination needed to fire these flaming projectiles, we knew we’d never need a second move. Not when we could create an impassable wall of fiery blue death like those seen in this video.
Then there was Dead Island: a fun, open-world zombie game that suffered from the scourge of survival RPGs known as weapon durability. But you know what doesn’t break? Legs.
At least, they don't in Dead Island, where almost everything else will eventually snap if you smash it over the head of a zombie enough times.
Better yet, in the original release version of Dead Island, kicking didn’t cost any stamina, meaning you could boot zombies around to your heart’s content. Those were good times. Good, kicky times.

personally, when playing as Malkavian in VTMB, i always upgrade Vision of Death. that way I can murder all the low level enemies and conserve health and ammunition for the boss. plus if you leave 1 minion alive to snack on during your rampage, you can keep killing them with your mind indefinitely

I would have thought you'd be more interested in the "free" medical care than the "free" food (neither are really free, of course, but rather the cost is shared by the community through taxation).

@@anarchyanddinosaurs4226 That is completely inaccurate. Someone who practices a kick a thousand times will eventually master it. Someone who practices a thousand kicks once each will only have second rate knowledge about those kicks, but will be unable to carry any out

Mass Effect 3 had a combo for the Vanguard, where you would Biotic Charge, filling your shield, and then nova, destroying your shield for damage.
You had no shield then, of course, but if you pack light enough, you've already got your charge ready again, so you can instantly refill your shield.
Then, just repeat as needed, to become a hyper-mobile untouchable murder machine.
Spammy, and very satisfying from a cinematic perspective.
I found a combo similar to that on me andromeda, singularity to pull in your enemies followed by shockwave to destabilize it and deal extra damage
The soldier class's rocket would have a cool down of about 1 second if you keep your weight down and spec it for cooldown. Then if you took the a.o.e. for last perk you could ragdoll entire groups of enemies then just stroll up and off them. It worked awesome on thr ravager after you shot out their egg sack. Then follow up with a rocket to burst the hatchlings under it. Would kill it almost immediately.
Also that spam guard was broken and hilarious. Especially if it was.the krogan with the claymore shotgun and melee spec. They'd headbutt atlas mechs to death
Charge/Nova was the vanguard human in multiplayer(also shockwave for attacking through walls) and always would net you the top scorer for the round.
Surely sneak archery in Skyrim counts as spamming, it's so unbelievably cheaty (which is exactly why I love it)
That was exactly what I was going to suggest. Why bother hitting people with swords and risk dying when you can crouch in a corner with sneak level 100 and shoot arrows. And it isn't like arrows are rare enough that you risk running out.
The sneak archery in Skyrim is good. Oblivion however it was amazing. Best class was Wood Elf and choose The Thief sign. Then make agility your governing attribute and usually speed too. Then make a two major skills marksman and sneak. Most enemies could one shot killed right away. Also if you made illusion a skill you could you use calm or paralyze and spam them on enemies so they can't attack you.

That would be considered "cheese," spam is about volume and rate (of fire in this case,) cheesing is exploiting broken or unbalanced game mechanics for an easy win. Keeping in mind that some game designers deliberately include methods of cheesing as a legitimate option for progress like the Dark Souls or Divinity: Original Sin games.

Yep. Spartan kicking and then stomping the zombies if overpowered.
Can't go wrong with the good old square, square, triangle in the God of War series.
It even works in the new one.

Or Engineer. Incinerate, Overload. Repeat. Those tech explosions were always fun to watch.
Soldier->Ammo powers->M--77 Paladin/M-358 Talon/M-98 Widow. I know it's not a "move", but I've played whole mission with just a pistol and sniper rifle. The Paladin was the equivalent to Halo's M6 Magnum - deadly + precise = easy headshots.
Yeah I always liked charge into a shockwave though. Or charge hard hitting shotgun or pistol at point blank range or Melee.. those always work well too
Vanguard is great, until you meet the Banshee's. Then i'm huddled in the corner plinking away with my pistol while i get Grunt to deal with them

Vanguard was excellent for insanity, because they had by far the fastest way to regain health/shields. However, Nova spam was less effective against big enemies, so you did have to update your tactics. Slightly. Instead of just biotic >charge->nova->repeat> you had to learn to shot first (with elemental ammo, so you set up for a detonation), the charge (detonating them) then shot, then nova (detonating them again). Bonus points for using the Claymore-shotgun, but learning to cancel the reload animation by trying to use a power that's on cool down. Mix in some heavy melee and occasional use of another power, just to get some variety:)
Anyway, I went into every battle wielding nothing but a shotgun and my powers, and either won or died within seconds, because when you play shotgun-face tactics on insanity, there was very little space for mistakes. But the reward for the risk taken was equally large, your DPS was optimal and cover was optional.

I was personally a huge fan of the "Ground Slam" attack in the Lego: Star Wars games. Considering it was the only way to defeat lightsaber-wielding foes, it was kind of useful!

My boyfriend made a custom spell in Oblivion that would paralyze the enemy for one second. It had low cost, so he could spam enemies with it. The real effectiveness of it was that the spell made them fall over, and it takes a couple of seconds to get back up again, whilst he would chip away at their health bars with a sword or whatnot.
I miss the custome spell making (Skyrim have non to speakoff). It was so much fun (even more for me in Morrowind).
in some games, not Elder Scrolls mind you, but like some of the Star Wars games, a knocked-down enemy can be stabbed for an instakill
DarkSydePhil’s first Dark Souls 2 playthrough. He spammed lightning spear on everything, and referred to it as “dick lightning “. He cheesed the game. Later, beginning the dlc, they nerfed lightning spear. The glorious salt resulting from that feeds me to this day.

Whist on the subject of gredades, if you play probably any Bethesda Fallout game, do NOT give any of your companions grenades because you will die a horrible, explodey death. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. You have been warned.
Definitely don’t give them ‘ALL’ the pulse grenades because of a weight issue, than forget they have them

I've played Human Revolution over a dozen of times, but I've never even considered getting the Typhoon...
That's just not how I play that game.
Yeah when I used the Typhoon to defeat a boss it really felt like I didn't get enough out of the game at that point. It'd have been much more fun to grind and lose and die a couple of times before finally defeating the boss. It'd certainly have been more fulfilling. Unfortunately, the regular gameplay ended up being more fun than the boss battles because I'd never use Typhoon except in boss battles

Obscure answer, but JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fighting games. Jotaro's 'Ora Ora Ora' being a common and usually good move, with his being the easiest one of all the characters to pull off, with the most hits/extended time for the attack, and one of the fastest too. Easiest character to play and can be spammed to ruin anyone's day. Sometimes without trying to use it even.

Orochi's sidestep light attack let's you sidestep almost anything and quickly counter attack. only your stamina limits how spammy you can be with it.

My favorite thing to spam is my handguns with explosive ammo in the Saints Row games. Nothing as fun as playing keep up with an enemy's corpse.
Its fun to try seeing how high up you can get it. I managed to land one on a rim jobs roof once

You could make a list on Smash spam alone, but I think I'll go with the one technique that's borderline banned: Wobbling. Not just because it's annoying as feck to deal with, but if done right in Melee, it can FREEZE YOU IN PLACE.

I had a friend who was a horrible spammer in Soul Calibur 2 with Astaroth. He defeated quite proficient people without looking at the screen just by spamming the basic horizontal attack all the time. I was no good at the game, but I ended up learning how to counter that at least.
Ugh, when my friends came over to play smash Bros they'll randomly decide to spam me and every time I complained my parents would say; let them do it, if the game allows it I'm what they are doing is fair. They obviously don't know what I was dealing with..

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Storm's lightning eventually upgrades so that it steals energy from KO'd victims and chains onto other enemies. The energy stolen ends up being more than it costs to use the lightning if you're hitting more than two people. This is a game that regularly sends large waves at you. Oh and on top of that, its fully upgraded form bypasses electric resistance. Did I mention that the chain effect is activated by button mashing?
Cue me flying around above everyone and just spamming lightning forever until everything is down. Probably destabilised the atmosphere by the end of the game.
A close second contender is Iron Fist, who has the only direct group healing move in the game. On higher diffculties, you will use this a lot. He also has a mashable jumping ground-slam that is _very_ satisfying.
@@KingNae Yeah it's also in XML1, but you just fire it once at a time, and it's not _nearly_ as spammable as in MUA2.
In MUA1, Ms. Marvel's Xtreme move stuns all enemies on screen and Dr. Strange's has a chance to change said enemies into Xtreme Pips. It's an extremely (no pun intended) effective, if obnoxious, tactic to spam that combo.
@@KingNae Yeah but there's a delay to it between each use. The MUA2 version uses a _lot_ of button-mashing incorporated into it that makes it infinitely more spammable. It will also _destroy_ your thumb, but alas, sacrifices.
@Dr. Mysterious I just remembered Scarlett Witch in XML2 and Dr. Strange in MUA1 and their random chance to turn enemies into a box forever. Which you could then destroy for cash. Yessss. Good memories.
For me, it was green lantern in the original injustice. The move where you grab your opponent and throw them over your shoulder could be spammed over and over, allowing you to just chuck your friend around until he got mad and put down his controller.
Props also to super girl in injustice 2. Your friends can’t hit you if every time they swing, you fly in from the other side of the screen. Did it to the same friend too...
If you really think about it Crash Bandicoot's spin attack is one of the most spammed moves ever, you tend to do it once every 5-10 seconds in every level

Me too! I saw the title and immediately thought "Oh, you mean every fighting game I've ever played?". And then thought about it for a minute and changed it to 'every game that had fighting in it'.
And now excuse me while I try to remember what Sonya move I used in every single match against my little brother for Mortal Kombat way back in the day. (Until he decided to start playing Raiden)
I'm spamming the 'antagonise' button button every time I get anywhere near Uncle on red dead 2
Grenade spam was so bad in the original Team Fortress Classic (and early builds of TF2) that Valve removed the grenades (barring those of the Demoman) from TF2 entirely. A few "sorta" grenades were later added, like Jarate (which put "liquid karate" on your enemies so they would take more damage), but these throwables took the place of secondary weapons and had a cool down so they can't just be spammed.
I remember spamming remote and proximity mines in Perfect Dark. I would wait until they set off the proximity mines and then set of the remote ones when they respawned. I also liked setting up laptop gun traps.

I would have gone with the up+B with Kirby. Or the down+B with Kirby. Or simply B with Kirby(get Fox powers and shoot lasers yourself). Or hold A with Kirby. Or Tab direction+A with Kirby.
Kirby was/is very spammy.

The traps from the Assassin class in Diablo 2's LOD expansion, specifically the turret traps, are a nightmare to demons as you place them (Somehow) psycho-kinetically right where your mouse pointer is , letting you run around avoiding foes while putting down little mechanical pals of death.
It's like you're leading your prey on a merry cat and mouse chase, except the cats are bombarded relentlessly by shocking and fiery death.

Pretty sure the entire move set of Eddy from Tekken was spam. I lost many a friend during the arcade era because of Eddy.

I used devil Jin alot. He had this one quick move that would send the other person flying back. Great to follow up with charge attacks.
Oh my god, he was so OP!! I preferred Yoshimitsu in Tekken 3 though - he had this one sort of spinning kick that would down the other player every single time. Get the timing right and the other guy basically spends the entire fight on the ground 😂

Law and paul somehow due to bad a.i. became spammy with their up Forward right kick combos respectively.
Number one spam nuisance though anyone who's played street fighter 2 knows it....not the hadoken......not even bison with his ridiculously o.p. psycho crusher headstomp combo.

The "Throw" ability in Control. Especially if you've maxed it out and gotten some better gear, more or less breaks the game.

I love spamming the melee spin attack in warframe lol it's just so satisfying and makes you feel like a true ninja
In Nioh there is one particular sword move that is a triple attack whilst moving around the back of the enemy. And there were so many ways of upping skill damage so it became a one-hit kill move whilst also auto-evading enemy attacks. If you spammed that attack, it made most fights in the entire game pretty easy (which is saying something given that the bosses in that game are also filthy spammers).

Do "moves" only include attacks? Because I am pretty sure you get the most spam from Oblivion and jumping. You jump while you walk, run, dodge, hit, swim, follow an npc, as well as before you speak to anyone so you get a cool view of their potato head.
Kaisa Arminen the spacebar on my old computer stopped working because I was constantly jumping and I wore it down. I was always jumping, all over the roofs of the buildings in towns, streets are for noobs. Also I’m constantly jumping in Halo too since that continues to be a very viable tactic in every gamemode.

@@joshuahadams HOLY TALOS YES. i had 2 eye surgeries this year & playing as a khajit (night vision) archer (for the zooming ability) wizard (for the lighting effects) was basically the only way for me to play a video game, full stop.
My favourite spams:
*TR:* infinite shooting with pistols while jumping backwards/sideways/forward/upward or rolling/running
*Tekken 3:* Eddie Gordo leg attacks; Gon tail spin; True Ogre flying firebreath; Jack's arm attacks; Law spinning kick; Paul "super punch" (forgot the name); etc
*NFS:* spinning the opponent
Hahaha we used to play melee on lightning mode, double speed and my buddy Tron had Fox as his main, it helped limit his spam somewhat since he had to avoid blasting off the edge
Mini sentries in team fortress 2, its small and hard to hit while pelting you with scratch damage at a long range with its auto aim, it also builds really fast so if someone destroys it you can have another one set up before they round the corner
Mortal Kombat 3 is basically a carnival of spam moves: Scorpion's harpoon; Sektor's missiles; Kung Lao's dive kick; Rain's lightning attack; Striker's grenades and pretty much EVERY Noob Saibot's special move.
P.S.: as a huge fan of Deus Ex HR and MD I played every game several times on different difficulty levels, but I never used Typhoon. I always thought that it would make the game too easy and boring. Silenced pistol, a couple of EMI granades, masterful stealth and a bit of savescumming - that's my choice.

Corpse Lance in Diablo 3. This attack has become one of the most important abilities for any Necromancer in the game.
To be fair D3 is a game built around spam. UE DH Multishot being the most fun for me.
D2 was way better ... PoE is better (also PoE have some realy nice spam spells and atacks like the Summon Raging Spirit or Cyclone :)).
I'm shocked you didn't include anything from Tekken. Law's backflip kick that launched you a good 10ft into the air? Bryan's roundhouse that would boot you halfway across the arena? Jin's basic punches in Tekken 4 even? Anyone?

i was a fan of spamming the combination of bombs and laser nets when using Cyrax in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3/MK Trilogy. you could throw them far and drop them nearby which made for some fun moments. (well...frustrating for my opponents, but fun for me!)

The jump kick in International Karate and the head chopping-move in Barbarian... but the 80's were all about spamming, just listen to the music, same effects and beats everywhere!
Mortal Kombat's leg trip trip trip trip trip trip....... Flawless victory. Can't get anymore spammy than tripping your opponent while they're still on the ground and they can't get one move in as a result.
That's how it's done. Also upper cut.
I swore by Mileena's teleport kick. Drop off the bottom of the screen, reappear at the top of the screen, and kick your opponent in the face.
While other moves need to cut you, stab you, or do anything else to make you bleed excessively to do lots of damage, for some reason a leg trip hurts like hell.
What about Scorpion's teleporting move

I’d say so, for certain fights anyway. I remember being in a fight or two when I had to use it every time my bar charged. It felt really really cheap. But maybe you’re right, just because it’s cheap doesn’t necessarily mean it’s spamming.
When I play games I never counter Dodge or block I have alot of trouble with assassin's Creed but I get through it
