Bit of info: Luca announced himself that he will never take part in another race. However, what makes this all so more pathetic is the following: they were battling for 15th position when the crash happend, and the only reason why Luca was even taking part in the race, was simply because his dad owns the track. Luca himself had already ended his active racing career some years ago. He damaged his whole public image, because he got caught up in an accident, that took him out of the race, while he was fighting for a position that get's you no points (or maybe 1 or 2 points) while he was racing as a guest starter and legit couldn't had cared less about his final position, since he wouldn't have gotten any points anyway as a guest starter.

It really can lead to any type of motorsports. You learn basic rules of getting around the track and racing others, and sometimes they are FIA sanctioned. In the World Karting Championships, Ayrton Senna (look him up, amazing driver) lost to Lake Speed. Lake Speed didn’t go to F1, he actually went to NASCAR. Crazy stuff

@@azl5044 I'd count only Stroll and Latifi to the paid drivers, I can't say any other drivers are really bought into the sport (though a personal sponsorship helps getting into it easier). And it's not like paid drivers are bad by default. Niki Lauda was one and he became a WC multiple times and Stroll is also putting in strong performances
Karting is actually a serious endeavor and most of the world's top drivers get their start in karting and are usually recruited from there. Most, if not all, of Formula 1's drivers started in karting.

Karting is no joke! :) Still, you need to keep your cool, it's perfectly normal to get mad if somebody wrongs you during a race but you should take it as a part of the sport and deal with it by putting it behind you really fast as it does affect your laptimes in a negative way. And getting physical over the racing is totally unacceptable and he really should be banned from the sport. Even Schumacher relatively kept his cool in 98 in Spa when Coulthard forced him to crash into his car and that was really a life-threatening situation.

I had something like this happen at one of my go kart races because I beat a kid that always wins and he tried to crash me when I passed him, but when he did that his tire popped and he couldn’t finish. After the race he was to coward to confront me so he had another kid come up to me. He then spun me out at the next race. The only reason he didn’t get penalized is because his dad gives the race series tons of money.
Update on the situation, he has actually banned himself from racing ever again, as the governing board does not have the power to do so. Immeasurable douchebaggery but at least he was smart enough to admit he was an asshole and decided he wont ever race again, not that anybody would ever give him a sponsorship or anything close to it ever again.

Former go-kart racer here. I used to race in KZ2 category nationally a few years back. With 45 bhp 125cc engine paired with 175kg of total weight, their power to weight ratio will give Porsches a real run for their money. That shifter kart can charge from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds, and they are capable of clocking speeds up to 190 km/h. They are definitely not kids toys, they are literally go-kart equivalent of a supercar. Edit: As for Corberi, I have visited this track before. I didn't think the owner of this track let alone his son would be such a big idiot. We don't have room for this kind of behavior. Not only did Corberi receive a 15 year ban, but the track has been also banned from hosting any race activity for FIA. Rightfully so.

I worked at an arcade with go karts 2 years ago. There was always this one guy that came with gloves, hair slicked back, and some badass sunglasses. He would pass the other people, mostly kids, with a grin. After the race, he would sit and smile and do that arm gesture with the fist while looking down, to celebrate his victory.

I Remember one race with “legend cars” basically supersized go carts with a shell. The 1st and 2nd place are on the finishing straightaway they both out into the dirt 2 meters from the finish line. The younger drive was furious gave everyone including the spectators the finger and tried to beat up who was in third that got 1st when he came back around. 97 went into an early retirement of his racing career It was the most memorable racing experience.
Legend cars is still a thing here in Australia. I believe they run a bike engine (I think with a turbo too) and a 6 speed sequential, they're fairly quick for what they are

I had something like this happen at one of my go kart races because I beat a kid that always wins and he tried to crash me when I passed him, but when he did that his tire popped and he couldn’t finish. After the race he was to coward to confront me so he had another kid come up to me. He then spun me out at the next race. The only reason he didn’t get penalized is because his dad gives the race series tons of money.

Update on the situation, he has actually banned himself from racing ever again, as the governing board does not have the power to do so. Immeasurable douchebaggery but at least he was smart enough to admit he was an asshole and decided he wont ever race again, not that anybody would ever give him a sponsorship or anything close to it ever again.

Former go-kart racer here.
I used to race in KZ2 category nationally a few years back. With 45 bhp 125cc engine paired with 175kg of total weight, their power to weight ratio will give Porsches a real run for their money. That shifter kart can charge from 0 to 100 km/h in under four seconds, and they are capable of clocking speeds up to 190 km/h.
They are definitely not kids toys, they are literally go-kart equivalent of a supercar.
Edit: As for Corberi, I have visited this track before. I didn't think the owner of this track let alone his son would be such a big idiot. We don't have room for this kind of behavior. Not only did Corberi receive a 15 year ban, but the track has been also banned from hosting any race activity for FIA. Rightfully so.

I worked at an arcade with go karts 2 years ago. There was always this one guy that came with gloves, hair slicked back, and some badass sunglasses. He would pass the other people, mostly kids, with a grin. After the race, he would sit and smile and do that arm gesture with the fist while looking down, to celebrate his victory.
We have a guy like that at our lazertag arena.. He calls himself shades, he has a light up pair of blackout sunglasses.

I Remember one race with “legend cars” basically supersized go carts with a shell.
The 1st and 2nd place are on the finishing straightaway they both out into the dirt 2 meters from the finish line.
The younger drive was furious gave everyone including the spectators the finger and tried to beat up who was in third that got 1st when he came back around.

If there’s anything more competitive and with more angry drivers than Go karts, it’s NASCAR. Yes they drive in circles but the rivalries are insane. I have seen drunken brawls between drivers in this sport and it is absolutely legendary.

Idk why he says it's a kids thing.. it's pro racing as much as any other pro sport, just leagues below. Basically for farming f1/gt/lms etc pros, so they're unbelievably talented drivers

All drivers start in karts. Most of the good ones move up to cars before they turn 20, meanwhile this goon is 23.
Almost all F1 drivers have had a karting career it's literally the first step you're supposed to take. Then again most of them move up from karts well before 23. It's like 15 or so these days.
