Mmmm seem to notice this strategy a lot in Australia by dealers. They increase the price by a few thousand sometimes even a good 10g, then after a few days or a week the car is advertised as special or reduced back to its original price. Totally agree salesman sounds completely unprofessional but to be honest most of my experiences with salesmen seems similar to this. I have very little respect for car salesmen.
JoshsWorld.com typical Gypsy drug addict car dealership I'm going to take a wild guess and say he was a shade of brown rather than white or Middle Eastern
Joshs grow up, let this go, we don’t know what went on there, but by posting this shit you load yourself with the suspicion that you were merely gathering content for your blog, you drive a cool car, act likewise, i’d say
As a '09 Arnage R owner myself, i can attest to the validity of your comments and observations. Yes, for example, the antenna is a recurring problem; bad quality from the factory according to a prominent independent Bentley RR specialist in L.A. Cost me $550 to replace in three years ago. No problems since with the antenna. Other usual occurences with used Bentley's is that the umbrellas are missing. Flying Spares in U.K. has OEM replacements very inexpensively. OEM lamb's wool floor mats are no longer available from the factory. There are a few who will make them for you, but they're pricey. I had my carpets replaced and did not install the rubberized foot rest. Some of the R models have the machine drilled aluminum foot pedals as an option, standard on the T models. I'd recommend to avoid buying any Bentley without the picnic tables. It's so expected, that it doesn't seem to pass muster without them. (Do not buy or use mustard in the car.) These tables are fairly useless because they're too far away from the rear seated position of the guests, but everyone expects to see them, so do not buy a car without them. It's just not a proper Bentley unless the tables are in pristine condition. Also, look for the rear seat vanity mirrors on either side. Cheap models have the area padded, but the mirrors add a classic touch. These are also available for after market purchase and installation on eBay. Also, entire navigation system and screen is utterly useless. Glare on screen makes it impossible to see any images of back up camera or nav maps. Upgraded Alpine radio from factory was antiquated, no blue tooth, so i replaced it with a newer Alpine. Saved original radio for next owner. Sun visors on both sides do not detach and swing out to cut glare from side windows. Front cup holder inaccessible unless you raise the center arm rests. Cup holder insert is optional equipment upon original purchase. I purchased one, installed it, and then realized it's useless. Plus, if coffee spills, it ruins the leather lining on the bottom of the center console compartment. Do not drink coffee in your Bentley. It's undignified. Also, rear seat cup holders are fragile and will break easily. Do not use these under any circumstances. They must be closed very slowly and carefully. Do not encourage your rear seat guests to use these for anything. Chrome or brushed aluminum gas cap is optional equipment on car. Comes from factory with cheap black plastic cap, looks cheesy. Bought Chrome gas cap for $350 from eBay seller. Weighs a ton. Looks amazing, but i'm the only one who sees it when filling up. Gas inlet does not accept full flow of gas. You must adjust nozzle to pump at slowest speed, otherwise nozzle shuts off. Takes forever to fill at Costco. Pisses off other Costco customers because i'm there standing for a while holding the nozzle, while it keeps clicking off. Decided to never to back again to Costco for Bentley fillup. This is not my daily driver. Used to be when i first got it, but now, it's just a hoot to drive occasionally just for the pleasure of appreciating what went into this car by the people who made it. We are not actually Bentley owners... we are custodians of the car and pass it on to future custodians who will cherish its history and commitment to excellence. We own what are called a PMC. When you join the Rolls Royce Owners' Club (also for Bentley's) you are considered to own a Proper Motor Car.
I currently am a sales consultant at Carmax. The sales consultant was way out of line. Absolutely no need to go off on a customer, the best way to gain business is word of mouth. This is one way to kill your chances of that.
NO, I don't believe you are over-reacting. Third-hand dealerships are generally somewhat sketchy and incorporate high-pressure tactics to move those cars that are rejected by most mainstream dealerships (e.g. a new Bentley dealer). The sales people generally work exclusively on commission. They acquire most of their inventory at a low price in the auctions for cars that are shy'd away from by mainstream dealers who recognize the dollars involved in getting the car up to snuff and having to warranty that same car to maintain their reputation. These third-hand dealers often go for the flash-factor of the exotic appeal of the car to display on their lot, pricing it at comparable market value of a good condition, well-maintained car. The objective is to do a quick flip of the car with little to no investment to an uneducated buyer. I suspect when you inquired about that car and he learned that you were looking to trade-up to a newer model, he pinned an easy sale and hefty commission once he closed the deal. It was all worth his time in hopes of his multi-thousand dollar commission, but once he realized that was not going to happen, he reconciled his time vestment as a loss...very short-sighted in my opinion, but nonetheless characteristic of these types of dealers/salespeople.
You’re in the right my man. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with examining a vehicle top to bottom. I don’t care if you’re trading in, upgrading, or buying your first or tenth exotic. When are people going to realize that more and more hard working people with half a financial brain who are really into 4-wheel works of art are starting to realize life long dreams of owning these beauties? People like us, no matter how high our net worth climbs, will ALWAYS look out for our pockets. That’s how we arrived to this time in our lives to begin with. I’m taking absolutely no prisoners while currently searching for my 2010 458. Carry on gentlemen. Semper Fi.
Happens a lot when a dealer gets stuck with a lemon, they think someone is interested and they get excited at the prospect of finally unloading it. When they don't get the sale they try and find anyone to point the finger at other than themselves.
I actually saw that car online this week and was going to try to stop by and take a look at it when I am down towards Addison in a few days. Thanks for saving me the trouble.
I own a 2005 Arnage R and it has been one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned. I do maintain it at a Bentley dealership and have ended up spending more than someone with more guts to try it myself. Some things I found you need a dealer for is such as reprogramming a new car remote. They must log into their proprietary manufacturer intranet to reprogram. So new remote with programming about 700$. I just had a 50K mile service done last month with replacement of a few interior parts and a new factory right rear strut(3000 just the part). I opted for new manufacturer part even though on eBay a reconditioned strut with a warranty 995. I just didn’t want to chance an issue with a used part. Anyway the pain with these is the Window regulators. I’ve not bothered replacing the rear ones but did the passenger front window. About 1200 with labor. I don’t use rear windows so in no rush to do it. Anyway I have just decided to buy a new car with some of the latest technology such as semi autonomous driving and safety items. So I will be selling it after owning it for 5 years and my Father before me for years. I will be buying another one down the road, a 2009 Brooklands when found in condition I want. But for now I want it to go to a loving owner. Owner appreciation and a good home means more than holding out for highest dollar. Don’t have garage space to House this and new car for another year or so. Anyway if you know a person wanting an 05 with under 60k miles that’s been lovingly dealer maintained lemme know. Love your channel on TH-cam.
Cool! I would love to experience the Brooklands! I don't know of any buyers for your car, but if you list it, send me a link and I will take a look at the ad.
All I know is if I ever decide to buy a pre owned Bentley I’m calling you. Your knowledge of them and the thoroughness of your inspections is what impressed me. I would gladly pay you to inspect a Bentley for me. We all know dealerships are shady and they pull stuff all the time. Having you in my corner I’m sure would make them nervous. We should talk more. Great video.
Sounds like a prick. I bought a used Cadillac Escalade. The dealer allowed me to bring the car to my mechanic to examine the car. My mechanic estimated $2,000 in repairs and gave me a written estimate. I showed the estimate to the dealer and he immediately took the repair costs OFF the list price. I bought the car, and I was delighted with the service. I gave my mechanic the dealers business cards and now they have a business relationship. The Escalade is MAGNIFICENT. But I wouldn't mind a BENTLEY!
As a salesman myself The Guy is most likely trying to find his flavor so to speak. I personally would have called and texted you as well. But I would have loved for you to come in to promote my vehicles. Anything that’s gets you back to the lot of fine with me
Looks like one of those shady dealers by the Addison Airport. I used to drive past those every day on my former commute and they all seemed pretty shady to me. I could be wrong. Sorry you had the experience you had there. I just stumbled across your videos the other day. Thanks for some fun car content and I’m looking forward to more videos.
You were definitely not in the wrong dude, i honestly think the salesperson just wanted a quick commission & didn't take into consideration of what YOU wanted in the bentley, good luck on your search for the upgrade though man!
Yeah, even a "No Thanks" would've been OK. He was right to follow up, but that should've been it. The fact that you pulled up in a Bentley meant you were serious about ownership. I could see his issue had you come in something else.
It’s not like you were only kicking tires wasting their time! You drove up in a friggin Bentley!! Proving you are into the brand and have the means to afford it.
You acted appropriately. I have also found myself in a similar situation with a new car dealership. So I know how you felt by having been treated so terribly. In my case, it was a new car dealership that I had a long term relationship with servicing one of my cars every six months. Long story short, I was as baffled as you were. Because where do these dealers find employees that treat their customers so badly? I simply changed dealerships and took my business elsewhere. Problem solved. Also, I have just found your TH-cam station and I have appreciated it very much. I own 3 cars: an 03 Tacoma, an 07 Miata, and an 04 Lexus SC430. Each of my cars I have purchased new with the exception of the SC. I purchased it when it was two years old. All 3 of my cars are bulletproof mechanically. I love my cars, but I'm also considering purchasing an Arnage this coming year. So I find your videos to be very helpful. Keep up the good work!
One bad employee can completely ruin the reputation of a company. Thanks for watching! You have a solid collection of cars, enjoy! Good luck with your Arnage search!
Love the honesty! Makes you trustworthy. That thing needed some work and would be a money pit. I wonder who would treat such a car like that? Your silver car is much nicer! One thing I saw on the Bentley was the rear view mirror. GM used that same mirror since the mid 90’s! Crazy part sharing although it’s probably from some mirror supplier not GM.
Watched your videos on different aspects of the Bentley Arnage T, I have a Black one that is really gorgeous well cared for get many compliments on the vehicle. I have the Bentley logos for the doors that appear on the pavement, running lights in the lower grill and a backup camera that is used in the nav screen when in reverse. Recently added new rotors and brakes on the front as well as tires. Like yours I think I am due for new ball joints in the front. I have ALWAYS garaged this car since I have owned it for twelve years. 17k when I bought it and have been delighted with how little expense I have required in servicing. The car came loaded from dealer in Houston 325k according to them. I have been trying to decide on keeping the car or selling, I really prefer keeping. The interior is grey and has the fleece mats. I may want to use Matt Garret for the new Joints. Rob
I happened to go to the exact same dealer about a year ago and the guy knew absolutely nothing about cars. It was pretty funny. Starwood Motors is awesome btw, people in Dallas should go there instead.
I think your comments about the dealership are spot on. I'd be delighted if someone came into my shop and made mention of the experience on their blog.
Wow that was unprofessional for sure! I find it is very common among car sales people. It is not just a stereotype that they are sleazy. Even a Tesla sales person I had once was really pushy and unprofessional and Tesla was supposed to break the mold in the car buying experience.
Salesman was a jackass; apparently he represents the dealership's lousy viewpoint regarding customers. I was looking at that very car a month ago - on CarGurus - but decided to leave it alone. You were NOT out of line.
Stephen Mason - It doesn't really matter the marque, salesmen are salesmen. They all make their money the same way, through commission, so they're usually pushy if not outright desperate. I have a friend who worked at Toyota of Pasadena for a time, and his commissions were always going towards his weekly pay which was advanced. An odd arrangement, but when all was said and done he was broke all the time and left waiting for customers to come through that door. And it's demoralizing to be in that situation, spend a couple hours with a customer, then have them walk away. A real feast or famine existence to be a car salesman.
“The customer is king” !!!!! That ‘sales’ guy was a total fool - you are 100% right with your criticism :)))) I won’t be buying from that dealership & I’m based in Europe !!! Great vid - thanks
What drives me insane is when people own luxury vehicles and they destroy them, most of the maintenance on these vehicles can be maintained on your own, whether you have a bmw, maserati, bentley whatever just take care of them. I feel your pain man trust me.
I drive an exotic car. Those repairs you mentioned would total 5-10 thousand dollars if done by a factory mechanic at a dealer. I just took my car in for its service and it was 5800 dollars. If you can't afford the maintenance, don't buy these cars. They are expensive both in parts and in hourly rates. If you love these cars, you will pay what it takes to keep them running in top condition. Low mileage is not a guarantee that they will be good either. Nice work in this video.
Totally no overreaction on your part. Coming from someone who used to work at a dealership, it sounds like he was angry you found the issues the car has.
JoshsWorld.com I agree, a 2010/2011 is still in the lower $100k range. However as I speculated, I’m pretty sure they could drop to around 70ish? Maybe? You think so? That is of course given a few more years time of depreciation + newer Bentleys arriving.
I've been seeing that listing for months on CL and I always thought it was overpriced even before seeing it up close now. Now I see that's it's WAY overpriced. They are hoping for a buyer that doesn't know what the repair cost are.
I used to be a salesman at a dealership and after a prospect would leave they would force us to bombard them until we got a response or they simply went cold. Terrible experience I will never work at a dealership again
Depends on your level of experience. I cover this topic in another video: th-cam.com/video/5jX7X_MJPYw/w-d-xo.html I would also add that regular service at a respected specialist or dealer is definitely a strong selling point.
Dealers should be professional to everyone, and not only when they're trying to hustle a sale. Many dealers treat their pre-owned Inventory just like used goods, and prospective buyers like tire-kickers wasting their time, which is not the right approach.
I used to be a car sales consultant. As unprofessional as that behavior was, I am also not shocked in the slightest. People that work at dealerships are usually assholes and it's one of the main reasons why I am no longer in that line of work any more (main one being I never had time for anything anymore because my life was the dealership.)
I've sold Land Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar, Toyota, Ford and used hoopties, always treated everyone as gold...lots of repeat and referral business. That salesman was unprofessional, same for his manager.
Completely agree. Since this experience, there have been a couple occasions where I've seen cars for sale that I wanted to check out, but when I saw it was from this same dealership I immediately moved on.
Yes not professional that I agree. I sold cars for 25 years and never treated anyone like that. Keep looking, your find the right car at the right dealership
Some years ago I looked at a pretty Rolls Royce Silver Shadow at a small car lot. I had a little time to kill having two tires being installed on my car next door and thought this would be fun mainly to see how they would try to sell this car. Overall it was just fairly good OK but the A/C did not work. (I knew what was involved here-expensive upgrading for this year) I said the car is nice but the air doesn't work. Sales guy immediately said it was already looked at by a "professional" air guy and all it needed was a fuse-his answer and this was in the middle of a very hot summer. Of all the thoughts going through my head, I wondered if this guy is just plain brain dead, stupid or thought I was stupid and a sucker!! Lets see now Mr. common sense; who doesn't have fuses laying around for free or 25 cents or so and this stopped the "professional" from getting this car ready for the front row for the hot days at hand??? Geeeze, give me a break from this common sense 101!!!!!
Don't bother trying to speak to the GSM or GM about their salesmen being too pushy. Those managers are the ones pushing them to "call them until they buy or die." BTW I've bought vehicles via eBay and Craigslist without hassles. There's less high pressure bullshit buying from private parties, and while I'm not protected by any state's lemon laws if I do get a dud, I do my homework on what I'm looking for, and have some mechanical aptitude. It may sound like I'm totally down on dealerships, but I'm not and would buy from one again - if one treats me in a civilized manner and justifies their markup.
Josh I think you should advertise the dealership as far as just putting such a car that needs all this work never mind a rolls,or a kia seems to me the service department is garbage
I think well-informed people that walk into that dealership and see the condition of the car quickly realize what type of business they are dealing with.
I saw this car Valet at the Shops at Legacy this week. Empire exotic motors is trash. I stopped by to look at a Bentley Continental and they had a Lamborghini Gallardo on cheap jack stands with the battery on a trickle charger, and two Rolls Royce Ghosts with front end damage that they were "repairing".. Not to mention Lamborghinis and Bentleys sitting on their crappy lot soaking up the texas rays.
You’re a Bentley fan much like myself, I haven’t watched the video, and I’m going to say there’s no upgrade for a Bentley Arnage, the Arnage is a much better Bentley than the new ones, you could upgrade for another color but anyways, if you get rid of your Arnage, you’re going to regret it.
A lot of Bentleys are in very bad shape. They look great on the first sight, but then you discover all the leaking hydraulics from steering and shock absorbers, water in oil funnel, blinking control lights, missing details, corrosion. Last experience - service book till 150K in Bentley, then Subaru and at 200K was just some no-name service - apparently just oil changes, for last 40K the car was just used, no service records... (advertised as FSH). Still looked nice from 2 meters and inside, but the rest was just wrong all over due to neglected maintenance.
He was very unprofessional and should be happy you didn’t post his name or the dealers name. I really have seen most dealers just give you the keys to whatever car if it’s used and let you test drive it yourself as long as you have insurance.
it will be hard to upgrade to Something About You original Bentley's it has a very classy and expensive looks even though it's older it doesn't look like it
No, that's the appropriate reaction and you handle it well, if I were you probably I said "your arnage is junk no one would buy it, unless you fixed it or some morons who didn't have any knowledge about cars"
No that place is trash I tried to get a Audi from them it was trashed just like that Bentley you should check out Earth MotorCars they are not far from that place and they are supper nice I have gotten two cars from them so far and haven't had trouble with them
Yes that Was unreasonably unprofessional. It is obvious that he was a bad sales person with no personality for the job that he is being paid to do. I commend you on your work and I hope that you will still drive and Bentleys
You expected a Bentley experience, but what you received was a standard used car "bum's rush." It wasn't unique to that salesman, or that dealership. It's how used cars get sold most of the time. Finally, the salesman knew he would not likely ever have another Arnage to offer you, so you were no longer worthy of his attention.
Very unprofessional, doing a self inspection with a camera is hardly wasting time you were a guy seriously in the market for an arnage(as if it wasn't clear by the fact you pulled up in one)and that market is pretty slim too
The guy went back inside to do other work for about 40 minutes while I was inspecting the car. The time he spent with me was minimal. I'm pretty sure he was just mad I didn't want to buy a ragged-out Bentley. No surprise that car is still for sale today.
JoshsWorld.com yeah lol maybe he made a bet that he could make the "dump sale" to the other salesmen 😂🤔 only logical explanation, love your videos man I love to watch channels of owners of depreciated vehicles that I want some day, when it comes to the Bentley I'm still in between an arnage and a Brooklands(or azure I see no difference other than the convertible) however I don't think the arnage will age as well as the Brooklands
The Arnage is a totally different animal compared to the Continental and Flying Spur. The Arnage is the last of the "old-world" style developed by Rolls-Royce. The others represent the more modern development after VW took over. All 3 are great choices in my opinion, it just depends on your personal preference and budget.
Man this would be a weekend car just riding around ,Getting it waxed & washed period... not the black one that thing guesstimate you would need to put aside $10k for repair
Thank you. I was squinting to see if the other car occupants were giving you some positive recognition! Here in Australia our freeway speeds are typically max. 100 kph.
Absolutely not over reacting; I wish you would have posted the name of the dealer. Maybe you can't do that, I really don't know. People have to be held accountable for their actions.
NO...you are not at all out of line...I sold cars for several years and worked hard to become a top producer...although they market high end autos...they are just a sled lot...
No, you were acting as everyone should act in this situation. If more people acted like you, these scumbags would be kept in line. I think you did a great job handling them.
Did you over react? No. The guy was a douche. In life should we expect most used card salesmen to be douchey? Yeh , but some are cool as hell. So not all the time. Side note - your Bentley is a sight for sore eyes. Great looking machine
First, it was unprofessional of him. Now, If you went there with the honest intention of getting the car if it was satisfactory to you then you didn't waste his time. But if you did go there only to record a comparison car, then you should of told them that. Anyway good video
You’re not wasting time if you are seriously looking to purchase. It is unethical if you go into a dealership knowing that you do not intend to purchase. Obviously, in this case, the salesman is an idiot. People looking to purchase exotics are a small, exclusive group. It would have been better for him if he thanked you for pointing out the issues with the car, and then try to assist you in any other way. Maybe they could have repaired some of the issues, if it was feasible. Unfortunately, professionals in the car sales world can be difficult to find.
Guy was being a little aggressive and unprofessional about it, you were offering to promote and being diligent shows your knowledge in the field, I'd find a new dealership!
Update: Nov. 13 - Car is still for sale, price has increased from $50,000 to $59,991. Interesting strategy 😂
Thanks for this! Your experience is a big reason why I am reluctant to buy a car off of ebay.
Mmmm seem to notice this strategy a lot in Australia by dealers. They increase the price by a few thousand sometimes even a good 10g, then after a few days or a week the car is advertised as special or reduced back to its original price.

I can see his side in that you weren't ever really serious and his time isn't actually free, but his response to you was over the top.
Trying to sell a high-end car like that in such bad shape is wasting everybody's time... seller and buyer.
It's hard to 'be serious' about that unit. the antenna is one thing, the window & that panel are another altogether, & then theres the rust, in Texas?
Well done for calling out that poor dealership.

One of the best looking Bentleys ever.
Thanks for the kind words. They are great cars but a bad example could ruin the experience.
Some guys know how to do business... some don't. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the Escalade!
As a salesman myself The Guy is most likely trying to find his flavor so to speak. I personally would have called and texted you as well. But I would have loved for you to come in to promote my vehicles. Anything that’s gets you back to the lot of fine with me
I don't care that he followed up with the texts and calls, that's what salespeople do. I take issue with is rude attitude.
JoshsWorld.com I hear you
Looks like one of those shady dealers by the Addison Airport. I used to drive past those every day on my former commute and they all seemed pretty shady to me. I could be wrong. Sorry you had the experience you had there.
I just stumbled across your videos the other day. Thanks for some fun car content and I’m looking forward to more videos.
It was in the Addison area. Some of those guys are good, so I wouldn't say they are all shady.
Good work Josh. I thought you were in the right. To have a Bentley reseller act that way, this guy should be selling Yugos.
If you're in sales and you think the hours you spend with someone who doesn't buy your product holds no value, you've chosen the wrong profession.
Excellent point.
Because of you Sir... I am actively searching for a Continental GT!!
Love your Chanel budee!!!!
Thanks! Good luck on your search!
You were definitely not in the wrong dude, i honestly think the salesperson just wanted a quick commission & didn't take into consideration of what YOU wanted in the bentley, good luck on your search for the upgrade though man!
True, he wasn't very professional about taking a "no."
I don't understand it either.
Good luck with your Arnage search!
bentley arnage years 2005-2009 amazing car! real gangsta car!
Haha yeah!
Hey, Josh I just stumbled upon your video and as a true car guy loved it and subscribed.
Awesome! Thanks for the sub!
Your silver one is much nicer Josh, I hope you stick with that one.
Watched your videos on different aspects of the Bentley Arnage T, I have a Black one that is really gorgeous well cared for get many compliments on the vehicle. I have the Bentley logos for the doors that appear on the pavement, running lights in the lower grill and a backup
camera that is used in the nav screen when in reverse. Recently added new rotors and brakes on the front as well as tires. Like yours I think
I am due for new ball joints in the front. I have ALWAYS garaged this car since I have owned it for twelve years. 17k when I bought it and
have been delighted with how little expense I have required in servicing. The car came loaded from dealer in Houston 325k according to them.
I have been trying to decide on keeping the car or selling, I really prefer keeping. The interior is grey and has the fleece mats.
I may want to use Matt Garret for the new Joints. Rob
U are so professional at shopping a bentley
Thanks! Hopefully other Bentley enthusiasts will be well-informed when they are shopping.
I happened to go to the exact same dealer about a year ago and the guy knew absolutely nothing about cars. It was pretty funny. Starwood Motors is awesome btw, people in Dallas should go there instead.
Yes, I was really impressed with Starwood Motors.
I think your comments about the dealership are spot on.
I'd be delighted if someone came into my shop and made mention of the experience on their blog.
All the other dealerships and sellers I've visited have appreciated the exposure.
The Black is very sharp !
Wow that was unprofessional for sure! I find it is very common among car sales people. It is not just a stereotype that they are sleazy. Even a Tesla sales person I had once was really pushy and unprofessional and Tesla was supposed to break the mold in the car buying experience.
This guy definitely played to the stereotype. A little surprised to hear that about Tesla.
I think you were correct in your dealing with these people. They were totally unprofessional nd extremely rude. Good decision on your part
Very valuable video. Thank you!
Glad you kept your current one!👍 If you do replace or get another Bently get a continental GT or something!:)
I do like the Continental GT! 👍
JoshsWorld.com a continental GT would be a downgrade, get a Brooklands :)
You have some great intel.
Yeah that guy was salty and thought you were using him i suppose, but honestly.. TIRES FROM 2010 on a car that they have for sale is disgusting.
Agree. This is not retail condition.
I used to sell cars. I would never think of doing something like that!
You have good common sense.
“The customer is king” !!!!!
That ‘sales’ guy was a total fool - you are 100% right with your criticism :))))
I won’t be buying from that dealership & I’m based in Europe !!!
Great vid - thanks
Thanks for watching. Yes, now I am skeptical about the rest of the inventory.
What drives me insane is when people own luxury vehicles and they destroy them, most of the maintenance on these vehicles can be maintained on your own, whether you have a bmw, maserati, bentley whatever just take care of them. I feel your pain man trust me.
In that case, you better not watch the $6000 Bentley Mulsanne video!
To give a real opinion, we should allways listen to both parts
Absolutely NOT? This is why we go TO dealers and not a private SELLER! Keep up the good work. I'm looking a buying a used Rolls thanks to your ideas!
Sales is a long game. Clearly, the salesman was only interested in a quick sale without regard to a positive relationship.
I would add to that, he probably wanted a quick sale to avoid a closer inspection of the vehicle.
That Arnage T has so many signs of neglect that I'd have walked away from it. The dealer probably knew it's a basket case.
Thanks for watching!
Not over reacting at all, as the salesman probably had a huge bonus if he sold that car.
Anybody that could sell that car deserves a huge bonus!
You did the right thing
Great video. Totally loved it. You may have me sold on an Arnage - but sure-as-shootin not this one! LOL
Thanks! Follow up with me if you decide to get one!
Totally no overreaction on your part. Coming from someone who used to work at a dealership, it sounds like he was angry you found the issues the car has.
Probably so.
You make great content. Enjoyed watching this!
Thanks for watching!
Do you ever plan on upgrading to a Mulsanne? Some have depreciated ridiculously and I see them dropping like rocks when the newer Bentleys arrive.
Would love to have a Mulsanne... but way too far out of my price range (even after all that depreciation).
Always beware of the craigslist Bentley! haha!
I used to be a salesman at a dealership and after a prospect would leave they would force us to bombard them until we got a response or they simply went cold. Terrible experience I will never work at a dealership again
Thoughts on doing ones own maintenance and repairs? Do you feel a that doing so would effect the car's value?
Depends on your level of experience. I cover this topic in another video:
th-cam.com/video/5jX7X_MJPYw/w-d-xo.html
I would also add that regular service at a respected specialist or dealer is definitely a strong selling point.
Dealers should be professional to everyone, and not only when they're trying to hustle a sale. Many dealers treat their pre-owned Inventory just like used goods, and prospective buyers like tire-kickers wasting their time, which is not the right approach.
Update, they still have it for sale for 53k lol
I just love analog cars.
Do Bentleys have reg carpet or sheep's wool carpet
It has regular carpet, the wool is an optional mat
Yes not professional that I agree. I sold cars for 25 years and never treated anyone like that. Keep looking, your find the right car at the right dealership
Thanks. It's sad because the bad guys give good guys a bad reputation.
Buy a car that is not a hand grenade with a loose pin...... these heaps of $hit can't seem to make to 50,000 miles without falling to bits???????
You were right all the way thank you
Now thinking about it we just gotta find a good kept one
Yes, very important.
Haha! It's always "just a fuse."
You my friend are 👍!
BTW I'm going to keep an eye out for you around Dallas lol
Haha! Yeah, it's probably the only silver Arnage T-24 around here. I like that Jag.
Thanks man! Yeah you'll be easy to spot haha
Don't bother trying to speak to the GSM or GM about their salesmen being too pushy. Those managers are the ones pushing them to "call them until they buy or die."
BTW I've bought vehicles via eBay and Craigslist without hassles.
Completely agree with you. I've bought vehicles from eBay and Craigslist as well without any issues.
Meanwhile I live in Pennsylvania and am struggling to find a decent used Audi A4! 😒
Josh I think you should advertise the dealership as far as just putting such a car that needs all this work never mind a rolls,or a kia seems to me the service department is garbage
I think well-informed people that walk into that dealership and see the condition of the car quickly realize what type of business they are dealing with.
F is a good grade. Those jerks got a free commercial.
Wow, that's horrible!
True, shoppers should look carefully at the service history before falling in love with a car.
I know the guy standing at the door and yea not the last word in professional with this dealership
He was very unprofessional and should be happy you didn’t post his name or the dealers name. I really have seen most dealers just give you the keys to whatever car if it’s used and let you test drive it yourself as long as you have insurance.
it will be hard to upgrade to Something About You original Bentley's it has a very classy and expensive looks even though it's older it doesn't look like it
True. If I find a newer example that's a great deal, I would certainly upgrade.
No, that's the appropriate reaction and you handle it well, if I were you probably I said "your arnage is junk no one would buy it, unless you fixed it or some morons who didn't have any knowledge about cars"
Was it empire motors in love Field Texas?
No that place is trash I tried to get a Audi from them it was trashed just like that Bentley you should check out Earth MotorCars they are not far from that place and they are supper nice I have gotten two cars from them so far and haven't had trouble with them
Cool, good to know. I see listings from Earth Motorcars all over eBay.
JoshsWorld.com plz keep up the awesome videos
Yes that Was unreasonably unprofessional. It is obvious that he was a bad sales person with no personality for the job that he is being paid to do. I commend you on your work and I hope that you will still drive and Bentleys
Thanks!
Do you still have the Arnage?
You expected a Bentley experience, but what you received was a standard used car "bum's rush." It wasn't unique to that salesman, or that dealership. It's how used cars get sold most of the time. Finally, the salesman knew he would not likely ever have another Arnage to offer you, so you were no longer worthy of his attention.
That's a good summary. Here's my suggestion to this retailer: get your vehicle in "retail" condition before trying to make the sale.
JoshsWorld.com but that's kinda the arnage thing isn't it, old school look like the XJs of the late 90s and early 2000s(piticularely in the rear)
JoshsWorld.com how am I not subbed??I feel like I accidentally unsubbed...well either way subbed lol coulda swore I was
haha! Thanks for the sub(s)!
YOUR OPINION ON THE Bentley ARNAGE ,GT,or SPUR Im in the process of purchasing just want to get more insight
The Arnage is a totally different animal compared to the Continental and Flying Spur. The Arnage is the last of the "old-world" style developed by Rolls-Royce. The others represent the more modern development after VW took over. All 3 are great choices in my opinion, it just depends on your personal preference and budget.
JoshsWorld.com Thanks for the info did you trade yours I seen one for sale in Houston Texas same color
No, I still have it. The one in Houston has a black interior, mine is gray. Also, one in Houston is in poor condition, a rusty car from NY area.
JoshsWorld.com o ok any other Bentleys you planning on getting or Maybach 57
Man this would be a weekend car just riding around ,Getting it waxed & washed period... not the black one that thing guesstimate you would need to put aside $10k for repair
Can you come with me the next time I need a used car please! Very competent
Time for you to start a used bently car lot...
It would be your dream job
Haha! Great idea!
What is the Thumbs Up referring to?
High speed limit.
Thank you. I was squinting to see if the other car occupants were giving you some positive recognition! Here in Australia our freeway speeds are typically max. 100 kph.
Which in the USA would be 61 mph.
AMAZING A DEALER LET YOU SEE IT IN THAT MESS
That poor little car 😩
Absolutely not over reacting; I wish you would have posted the name of the dealer. Maybe you can't do that, I really don't know. People have to be held accountable for their actions.
NO...you are not at all out of line...I sold cars for several years and worked hard to become a top producer...although they market high end autos...they are just a sled lot...
I never really liked black on these at all. I feel they need a bit of a fancy pop. green or blue #TheDream
I'm a big fan of blue, for sure.
I like black cars a lot, but the absence of brightwork on the Bentley front fascia militates against black for the marque.
Engine cover missing.
It had the cover, I removed it to inspect the engine bay.
No, you were acting as everyone should act in this situation. If more people acted like you, these scumbags would be kept in line. I think you did a great job handling them.
Thanks!
Or just a shot of Freon. One salesman called it
freezon.
Did you over react? No. The guy was a douche.
In life should we expect most used card salesmen to be douchey? Yeh , but some are cool as hell. So not all the time.
Side note - your Bentley is a sight for sore eyes. Great looking machine
Thanks!
First, it was unprofessional of him. Now, If you went there with the honest intention of getting the car if it was satisfactory to you then you didn't waste his time. But if you did go there only to record a comparison car, then you should of told them that. Anyway good video
You mind sharing the name of the dealership? I want to stay away from them just in case I’m in the market for a decent preowned luxury car.
Empire Exotics
JoshsWorld.com thanks
I much prefer the look of the older Bentley.
The newer Bentley is a unique design for sure
You’re not wasting time if you are seriously looking to purchase. It is unethical if you go into a dealership knowing that you do not intend to purchase. Obviously, in this case, the salesman is an idiot. People looking to purchase exotics are a small, exclusive group. It would have been better for him if he thanked you for pointing out the issues with the car, and then try to assist you in any other way. Maybe they could have repaired some of the issues, if it was feasible. Unfortunately, professionals in the car sales world can be difficult to find.
Agree. All was fine until he got the "no." And on that particular car, they should be used to hearing no... a lot.
Guy was being a little aggressive and unprofessional about it, you were offering to promote and being diligent shows your knowledge in the field, I'd find a new dealership!
Definitely will not earn my business or any referrals.
