Fun fact: The kilt was bought as a gift for Axl by his best friend Izzy Stradlin! They were friends in school, played in a band together. Axl often hid in his friend's house from his abusive stepfather and then followed Izzy to L.A. where he only joined bands with his friend as a package deal. Izzy had left the band very recently before this recording due to him getting sober and being unable to deal with Axl's bipolar & obsessive moods as well as the other's addictions. He was responsible for keeping Axl somewhat in control. After he was gone they never produced anymore original music & the remaining band collapsed until Axl did 'Chinese Democracy' decades later with an entirely new band lineup. Axl hated Izzy for a long time when he wouldn't come back after he begged him for hours on the phone. Slash blamed Izzy for the band's collapse for a long time too. These days they have appeared together on stage and even collaborated a bit on non-GnR stuff! Extra fun fact: Izzy only got clean because he had to take court mandated drug & alcohol tests after peeing in a plane's isle :D (To be fair their flight was delayed for hours so they got smashed and then the toilet was clogged & unavailable so...). He'd been on heroin and other drugs for over 10 years at that point, having started out as a drug dealer in L.A. getting hooked on his own stuff. He used to sell to other greats such as Aerosmith & Mötley Crue before Guns made it big. Once he was clean he realized that he couldn't live like that anymore and watch his friends kill themselves so he ran. Extra extra fun fact: Gilby Clark replaced Izzy on his recommendation! They stayed friends and when Gilby broke his wrist Izzy stepped up and played for him despite leaving the band and having bad relationships with some other members. Axl was so angry about Izzy leaving that he withheld his well-earned payments from him (his egocentric & paranoid control issues were a big part of Izzy leaving in the first place) and Izzyn only played once he got his past payments.
I have been a huge GnR fan since 1990. I had missed out on a chance to see them Live in concert, in 1993, but I finally made my life long dream come true to see them Live, in 2017. It was awesome beyond my wildest dreams. Axl has always had a lot of energy. Even these days (he is 61 years old) he still runs & sings on stage. A bit less wild than he was in the 80's & 90's & his concert clothes are less wild, too, but he & the and are as incredible as they've always been 🤩🥰

Seen them in August 2021 at Washington Grizzly Stadium in Missoula. Slash completely stole the show. Axls voice was shot half way through the concert but it was still great. Heavy Axl doesn’t run the stage like he used to 😂😂
I love this song, but the studio version is sooo much better. Axl's voice is nowhere near as smooth and strong during this concert. If you take time to listen to the studio version, you won't believe the difference!
He is wearing a kilt. Scottish men wear them. His (Axle Rose) full name is William Bruce Rose Jr. and is of Scottish Heritage so it's appropriate that he wears a kilt.
Slash is also a great studio musician and I think sometimes he prefers that to stage work. He also coveres other styles you would not suspect. I have a recording of his doing an original number that is considered gypsy romance and mostly acoustic. He has range.
You guys should always do the studio versions of the songs unless some tells you the live version is better...I know everyone wants to see the energy and emotion of a live performance but most live performances just don't have the quality sound of a studio version where you you can really judge the song....having said that this live performance is pretty good but not better than the studio version ...

I saw them open up for Motley Crue. That was when they were fairly new at the time and they were much better than this particular video. The whole concert was great. Slash is definitely in the top 10....maybe close to top 5.

I thnk this was in Wembley stadum and Axl Rose was wearing a scottish 'kilt'... I have seen them live here in Lisbon, Portugal and it was epic... But then I've seen Price and it was something else... An AC/DC and they were incredible... Dire Straits.... So many and all good!!!!

Axel could be great live and be bad live vocally. Drugs/alcohol pending. Saw them open for Aerosmith in 89’ . They were pretty good. Just about to release “Lies” so we heard some of that too. But Aerosmith put on an incredible show

O que a maioria dos vocalistas de rock fazem, isso não o fazem mals vocalistas. É este show em específico não foi dos melhores, tem versões desta música que são muito boas, e os caras pegaram a pior versão onde tudo estava estranho. Até os instrumentos a voz do Axl muito roca inclusive . Mas tem muitos bons shows para se reagir, eles foram infelizes ao escolher este. E quem diz que vocalmente Axl é ruim por este show. Realmente não conhece guns.

While I love guns and roses..slash and gibby especially..axl was notorious for showing his ass and showing up hours late for concerts or walking out mid set...appetite for destruction is an amazing album..their pinnacle...and it was their first album and axl got an ego that ruined that bands chemistry..he was childhood friends with izzy and he ruined that relationship as well...

He sounds awful here. I’ve seen him live and he’s much better and you were talking about his outfit. Usually, he’s in his underwear so that’s a lot of clothes for him. You need to listen to a studio version of them because they sound much better.
