1Kg = 2.2Lbs, therefore 7Lbs = 3Kgs, therefore you're going to add 30g of the baking soda into the 7Lbs of layer feeds.

Really good information, and important to watch until the end so that you know it is not healthy to add to much baking soda to the feed. I am going to a local farm to choose and purchase chicks for my first flock in about ten years. We used to organically raise heritage breed standard chickens and heritage breed bantam chickens about ten years ago, but then our house burned down and we had to move to the city for several years. We finally have moved back to the country and I am so excited about getting to raise chickens again. So I really appreciate this useful information, thank you.

No don't give the chicks, start giving it to late growers as you usher them into their laying stage at around week 18-22.

Do you add it directly to the feeders? Can you add it to their water?
This is interesting how much do you feed per day per chicken
Measure the weight of the feeds that you give to all the chicken per day then use the ratio of 10g of the baking soda per Kg of the feed. You don't mix the baking soda in feeds per chicken, you add into the feeds of all the chicken.
