Saw him leading the LSO in this iconic symphony at a superb performance that was streamed live on TV in Europe in February 2020, just a couple of weeks before big public concerts like that became a no-go for a long time due to covid restrictions. That performance from London has been reprised a couple of times on TV since but it seems no one has got it uploaded to TH-cam - very nice to watch and listen to this one of the beautiful Adagio as an alternative. Thank you! 💗
Thanks for telling me, Louise. It was a very special night for all of us. (Julie Scolnik- flutist and organizer) The whole concert is posted on TH-cam as well. Let me know if you want the link.
This movements means a lot to me - I have memories of singing Beethoven 9 with the Orchestra of Paris chorus in 1977, and I listened to this movement during my chemo treatments about 20 years ago.. I always believed that music saved me as much as medicine did. (I talk about this movement in my memoir, Paris Blue, in case you are curious:) Julie Scolnik
@@MistralChamberMusic Hello Julie! I didn't see your earlier reply until now (after you made another one). Thank you for posting the link in the description to the video. /Louise, Sweden
Douce et mélancolique musique, interprétée ici avec une grande retenue (on entent à peine les timbales). Congratulations from Montréal.
Merci Pierre- on est tres reconnaissent🙏.
