I just got the Tech-XL Wheeler a few weeks ago and I am loving it. I first tried the Tech Pac Wheeler, but that wouldn't fit all of my tools and I didn't like that the shoulder straps were not detachable. The Tech-XL Wheeler fits all of my tools and keeps everything well organized. All loaded up, it is weighing 55 lbs (the bag itself is 18 lbs). Much nicer to wheel that around than to lug it. The bag is quite expensive, though. Getting the SB-LD in the Spring Promo reduced the sting just a bit. If I had a complaint on the bag it is that I cannot fit anything much in the two outside front pockets. I would like to fit my notepad somewhere on the outside, like I do with my pencil, for quick access. The notepad sticks halfway out of one of the front pockets. I fit a very small first aid kit, that I put together, in the other front outside pocket.

for an automation/controls integration engineer what would you recommend i should get. my laptop and its charger are most important to have, i need it to be backpack as wheels are not an option.i would also carry a few cable such as ethernet size cable,rs485,rs232 rs422 ,usb the list goes on from various plc ports.multimeter/oscilliscope/signal generator ,mesauring tape,my box with all my bits for a screwdriver or drill i would then carry extendable magnet ,few electrical screw drivers my automatic wire strippers, set of allan keys, pliers then miscillanous like tape, cable ties, marksers, notebook the list goes on .possibly a label maker.PPE and maybe some lockout/tagout kit.i rarly might even have a thermal camera or measure for cable hot spots or network test equipment for modbus and other protcols. i would also need an area for ids and few memeory sticks and stuff.in ideal world i would even like to be able to carry a drinks bottle and lunch box but that an ideal world, your help would be very much appreciated and i know i wont have all the listed equipment all the time.also is there any that are for sale that comes with tools such as wiha or knipex

@@seanryan973 What I use is the tech pac LT, though if you're actually carrying a DMM, scope, and signal gen, it might not have quite enough room. I use the tech pac LT, and carry my meters (an 87 V max, 772, manometer, psychrometer, etc) with their probes and such in a MB3B. The tools I use 99% of the time are in a MP1X. What usually happens is that I carry the MP1X and the MB3B, with my laptop shoved in it. Working in automation and controls, I can tell you that you're going to have so many things you COULD carry, that you will never carry it all. You can't fit a laptop, 3 meters, label printer, a bit index, LOTO kit, and anything else in a single backpack. That's what the van/truck is for (or, the trap I have fallen into: many toolbags).
A tip for cables: look for monoprice's "slimrun" cat6 cables. They save a TON of space in your bag, just don't beat them up too much. For your serial com, just get a USB to UART bridge / VCP dongle, and use whatever wire you're running to the equipment for modbus/bacnet/lon/etc that you have on hand (on site) already. That is, unless you have to connect to some boards with a proprietary connector.
May I ask what kind of automation you work with/in?

It would be nice to see you wearing or holding the bag to get an idea of how it would be worn or carried with tools. Great videos

I'm pretty happy with my Veto bag. I went for the TP-XXL after seeing the empty weight of the backpack-style bags like the Tech Pac & MB5B. I also like the single main compartment of the TP-XXL vs the separate large front/back compartments on the Tech Pac. Glad they've got such a good variety because obviously what works best for me isn't going to suit everyone.
Who knows, maybe next spring freebie deal I'll try another.. possibly the MB5B.

MB5B is wayyyy better than all three of these bags

    • @Justin-C
      @Justin-C 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@mvilla235 It all just depends what you want & need. I like how it's mostly accessed from the front like the TP-XXL, but one thing the MB5B lacks is a few external pockets to keep a few things directly accessible, like a pen/pencil, utility knife, etc. One of the reasons I went for the TP-XXL.

Great video - big fan. I’m aware you have multiple Veto bags, other than the v-swap should i be concerned with clean up with either the blackout or regular veto color versions? Just asking for opinions..from those with experience - thanks.

That Wheeler is a tank man… just soo expensive tho… I know there’s no point of you buying that new Milwaukee 15 inch pack out bag… but have you taken a look at it and if so what do you think abt it?

Judging how you like both bags, I would've almost thought you went with the tec pac wheeler instead of the bigger wheeler.

    • @americanelectrician

I thought about it but it wasn’t different enough from the tech pac for me to own both. The tech xl wheeler has enough differences that it could work in different situations!

Is a Tech-MCT Blackout too big for a first year apprentice? I have a good amount of tools and I just purchased the Tech MCT Blackout and want to hear from someone experienced on if I should sell it and downsize to something like the TP LC or stick with the MCT?

It looks like a cool concept but I’m not wasting $300 on it. It can’t compare to the tech pac in storage or durability

  • @shanen.6210

Why not use a PACKOUT wheeled box and make a tool tote for inside of that. Way more durable, Cheaper and probably more room

Hello! I'm from Ukraine. Tell me who can. I have bought the Veto wheeler Tall on ebay three times now. The delivery was to be in New Jersey and then to Ukraine. Two sellers canceled the order, the third did not ship in two weeks. What could be the problem? Bag not available? But why are they on ebay? And what are the options to buy them, because this is my little dream of an electrician.)) Thank you all for the advice.
