SMGs again next, maybe warlock 😬? My limited experience with them has been fun, but nothing educated/knowledgeable. It's SOME aggression due to range (i think),but would like to know more! Great video, as always!
I would second the pulse video. After working through your PVP Exotic video I was getting a lot better in Control. Specifically I would like to see how to use the pulse in 3v3 game modes, including Trials.
Please make a video on how to play each map, break them down into individual modes, like this is how you play control/ Elim/ trials. Little sweet spots for hiding from supers, little known sniper lanes. How to rotate , load outs and play styles. Some things to consider.
I'm not a naturally aggressive player, but it's crazy when certain loadouts or game situations require it, I find this amazing flow state -- ducking in and out of cover, taking just 1 enemy at a time and not letting them collapse, and it's like my hands just know all the right plays to make. That's the feeling I'm always chasing in the crucible, and this video helped identify the things I need to work on to make that happen more often.
Great work on the commentary: It's hard to explain a loadout that depends heavily on split second decisions, ultra-fast movement, and top-tier positioning. You have my +respect as a SMG/Peacekeeper enthusiast.
My question is, how do you defend against well-coordinated, high-speed teams that all literary fly at you at Mach 2, and always close out the round in less than 20 seconds? What's the secret? Why does this strategy work? How do these Gilded title players make it look so easy, and make you feel so utterly helpless?
Honestly man I’m not sure. I used to think like you then as I played more with better players i generally picked up new aggressive skills. I think it’s just thinking about the play and what you want to before it happens. For example when I push a team I’m thinking about how many are there, what abilities do I have, what guns do they have, how am I gonna escape if this goes wrong. Hopefully they helps
You know the team that no one wants to rush in on? A triple revenant hunter team all rocking shatter dive and high discipline. It's literally all I got 🤷
Best counter is a good sniper in your team, I’m good at sniping and I can tell you that’s what makes hyper aggressive players scared and change there playstyle, i had so much games where my team got rushed hard first 1 or 2 rounds but as soon as i get my shots the whole match changes, I mean it’s obvious if you’re getting killed more then once as soon as you’re peeking a corner or just rush mindless you start to slow down and think about your next step
@@flowa2024 yea but you need to be VERY good. Not saying that your not, I'm just saying if my man is asking for advice he might not have access to someone who can some ppl like Frostbolt lol
I always try to coach others on how I find success in PvP. I preach being a "relaxed, aggressive" player. I don't run into spawns with a shotgun, I prefer to be aggressive with other things like map control and choke points.
I find the hardest thing for me has been properly positioning myself so I'm not limiting my arm movement with an arm rest. Its not easy as my desk is a bit small and my monitor is huge. I've missed many shots because my arm drags on the mouse pad or gets caught on my arm rest. As for aggressive play, I've found I can do decently with it, but my old age has slowed my reflexes that it makes it tough to react at times.
Hey nomad, great video. I'm a blink main and I love this type of playstyle. Have you considered doing a video on splitting/pushing/positioning aggressively in a 3v3 setting. I liked seeing this video and your thought process on how to position individually. It may benefit people to see how you position in a more intimate team setting and how to be aggressive in that situation. How do you look at an enemy team's position, and how you agress and do so safely?
The whole not giving them a chance, don't even think about it bit is the thing I struggle with most. I hesitate way too much in situations where I need to be aggressive. Good video.
I'm not the type to use Chaperone because for one I can't hit heads and two I don't like using shotguns. But seeing this gives me hope that if I use slugs I can try to hit heads and try not be afraid of being aggressive. And that calm realization is what I need instead of saying "That's impossible I should've hit that!!!". I need to calm myself down and realize that it was bad positioning and/or timing. And I like how you don't slide into people's faces most of the time and you just decide to wait. That's good enough for me. For aggression I thought it was slide shotgun mostly but you just waiting it out means that you can be aggressive AND have patience. So thank you
i wanna see an expanded video on this for all of the classes at some point. if you have to play a titan to be aggressive, that’s not very fun, and i know other classes can be aggressive without having to box their way through everything
I was actually gonna mention multimach and duality, but then you mentioned it right after. I've basically learned how to be pretty aggressive with it and it works really well, Duality is kinda nutty. I've since switched to riiswalker shayura since i got a kill clip adept roll and it's just as good, learning to get aggressive with shayura was pretty hard due to the lower fire rate
This is a killer outlook on aggression, but I'd like to say from the footage, it looks like I'm not the only one out here dealing with massive hit registration issues.
I've always found aggressive playstyles to be more fun. It keeps me on edge- keeps me thinking from moment to moment. I have attention span issues so that's really the only way I keep engaged in any videogame.
It’s the internet. Everyone makes fun of everything, like your inability to let a little ribbing about poor fashion choices go even though it happened months ago. Sheesh, get a grip
I always clench when I'm up close (controller). I'll get in the right position, line up the shotgun shot - then clench the right stick and get stuck in the melee animation. Any advice?
Honestly, the biggest thing for being aggressive is hitting shots. Aggressive is higher risk, meaning that there is less forgiveness when pushing in. The pusher is at the disadvantage. I personally think grinding out rumble helps with aggressive play, it gives you weird fights in quick succession, helping your aim, game awareness and movement. When pushing in hard hesitation is your enemy, you have to move fast and not miss.
I like Shurayas and chap. I run it with Peacekeepers which makes swapping to chap buttery smooth and still lets me keep the increased movement similar to dune marchers when I have my SMG out.
I know this is probably redundant by now. But, I just watched Wallah go solo flawless about 5 or 6 times last night playing the most aggressive way I've ever seen. Would love to see a Nomad review on his play style
How about a video on how to counter weapons/ playstyles? I’m not sure if you’ve covered this or not, just an idea. Also I watch players like wallah. He knows where enemies are and how they will push, he knows what weapons you are using before he even sees you. It’s like he’s a natural hacker lol. I’d like to learn how to analyze opponents like he does.
In essence, it’s developing instinctive control of the game and familiarity with the play space. Players like Walluh or Coolcheese spend hundreds of hours a month doing nothing but spending time in the crucible. They practice so much they have a grasp of the playspace that lets them know where people are going to be just because they can anticipate the likely position that person will be before getting visual confirmation. They don’t have to spend time thinking about it because they instinctively know many of the variables at play just from constant practice and familiarity. Goes back to the whole “game sense” concept from Nomad’s earlier vids. Maps only have so many different spots people can possibly be, so if you play often enough you can anticipate where they are and take advantage of better positioning for when they’re going to peek a corner, or take advantage of their reaction times and peek aggressively to secure a kill.
Nomad, I need to know: What is your mousesensetivity? DPI and Modifier pls, I am currently looking at the sensitivities of good players to convince my bud to get off 16cm/360°
@@tribalcorndog1215A change in Mouse sensitivity is completely overestimated in the regard of the impact it had on performance. A sensitivity of 20cm/360° or higher (like 15cm/360°, I know its intuitive) cannot possibly be beneficial in any shooter solely because someone who isnt necessarily neck deep in aimtraining like I am for example probably does not have the capability to control such a high sense let alone not overflick 9/10 times or track a target smoothly for more than a fraction of a second. There is a reason why the majority of pro players across multiple FPS games play a range between 25cm and 45cm per 360°.
I respect your choice to be the class you want, but I wish more people did more with Hunter. Nearly infinite grenades. It’s obviously a 6s set-up but its a load of fun. Too bad the scorpion is sunset.
Vex will absolutely eat up shayuras unless you get the first shot or swap, and it'll do it easier. The max range multimach is absolutely the move, use peacekeepers and play like he's talking about. If you play against hand cannons shays works very well though, you could also play a GL to start of the Kill clip. But be wary of vex no matter what and be wary of multimach because i have very rarely been outdueled by a shay with multi, just too big a TTK difference imo

I like the video, but I'd love a whole series in a less "live commentary" format around play styles. Sometimes it's hard to follow why a scenario works for a given point of view, because we aren't in your head. Commentary is great, but it doesn't capture the whole picture in a way a breakdowns may point all that comes to attention in a moment. Referencing other videos like lane from cover, and gamesense would be great. For example, you take a fight at the stairs between B and A, where you recognize an issue with your positioning, seeing all the data for that decision could be helpful in the context of an aggressive play style.
Great video, but it just seems as success with SMGs relies too heavy on first having a god roll and then near impecable gameplay, i.e., they are too far from the meta. :( edit: yes, I know it’s a video about aggressive play and not SMGs, but I thia just jumped out to me.
