Im 6'3 or 190cm, and i find myself letting the shinai drop below horizontal to make the shinai land on the do-dai. Anyone else dealt with this and have advice to fix this?
I'm 6'5, and have the same issue as well on top of slouching a bit to drop the shinai. Counterintuitivly the slouch makes me more likely to go past horizontal. Only advice I can offer as a beginner myself is to try and make sure you aren't slouching.
Hello. Thank you for your Kendo channel. It's very well made and very instructive. Best regards from France.
Thank you Andy, this really is a BEAUTIFUL video :-)
And so your wife is a kendo player too :-) :-)
Thanks, I need to improve do waza
Thank you sensei
Thanks for the tips cos I’m usually more doh!
Yes Andy, my Japanese wife used to teach kendo to nursery kids. Pretty cool, though more a bjj/judo guy myself…

Do waza is difficult skill to me..😢
Same. There are some beginners who can do it super naturally but Dou is generally difficult for most!
