Braving Mt. Guiting-guiting

On the 28th to the 30th of April 2023, I joined a small, agile group on one of the most challenging mountain climbing expeditions I’ve ever undertaken. Travelling from the south required me to navigate across land, sea, and air to reach and return from this remote destination.
Nestled between the Luzon and Visayas regions, Sibuyan Island in Romblon boasts both rich environmental and cultural diversity. With locals fluent in Cebuano, Hiligaynon and Tagalog, the island offers a welcoming atmosphere. Sadly, its abundant mineral resources have made it vulnerable to unregulated mining, threatening to degrade its natural beauty irreparably.
The island’s most iconic feature, Mt. Guiting-guiting, commands respect, awe, and admiration. Its allure captivates nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike, drawing them to explore its rich, rugged terrain.

Dahil from Davao ako, I had to spend on airfare and bus trip to Batangas Port back and forth + round trip ferry. All in all, nagastos ko dito is nasa 20k.
