Someone in authority went to great lengths to destroy this young man’s career. The original charges against him were contrived and even his legal challenges to clear his name were illegally quashed. He has endured a lot of pain but has resurrected his singing career through incredible strength and hard work. As far as I know he is still barred from making movies in China., where truth and justice are abused.
I would like to add that there weren’t even any legal charges against him. In fact, separate government agencies that oversee culture and television had clarified that there is no official call to ban him. Unfortunately, the entertainment industry is controlled by corrupt forces and the government is powerless to do anything…

They mis-spoke. He never visited the shrines in Japan. He visited outdoor area that was a recommended viewing area for the cherry blossoms (as recommended by CCTV just a week or so before) that happened to be in the vicinity of the shrines.
