I have this one still (the german edition). I always loved these LEGO catalogues - as a kid I could not afford much LEGO, so I dreamt away with the catalogues. I still have many of them.
Same here! I still got many of those catalogues. Even older ones than this edition from 1993. Because i was very into the space theme it was simply not affordable to purchase a separate line of Pirates stuff. Those big pirate ships seem to me so cool.
Oh, the nostalgia! By the way, if you've ever played the game LEGO Racers, there's several racetracks and characters based on these classic themes, such as Pirates, Space and Castle.
Wow this brings back so much of my childhood memories, and I remember I had the Fire Control Centre (set 6389) when I was a kid. That Metroliner was really classic and it was re-released in 2001. The Airport Shuttle was also very classic and a lot of the Lego fans would actually like Lego to bring it back.
Wow! This is a golden era for sure, seeing all those model teams, monorails, ships, pirates... almost all these themes at their peaks. Modern Lego has a lot of brilliant new parts and is going through a new golden age, but you can't fail to notice how good this period was. In comparison, my Lego childhood was 1998 to 2003, and it was considerably more disappointing...
To echo many others, what a great trip down memory lane!! I love your channel, keep up the amazing work! I still have that Galactic Mediator set (6984 I think), still in the box with the manual and all the pieces. I love hearing from others about cherishing those old catalogue books almost as much as sets themselves, I thought that was just me! Would just go through them over and over and over.....
Now that you browsed through the catalog from '93 I realize that I had quite a few sets from that time. But, some are definately olde than '93. Also, I had the smaller port with the blue ship. That was a really awesome set. I think I'll soon get my old boxes with bricks from my parents and build all the stuff again. At least my space sets are all still assembled.
I wanted some of the Paradisa sets as a little boy. Mostly because I loved the beach theme that some of them had. I also wanted the rocky river retreat and the surf n sail camper too.
Memories... Thanks Jang! I had few sets from this catalog including Model Team 5590 set - truck with helicopter. My favorite set ever! But at that time it was super expensive.
When I was a kid, nobody ever told me that pirates stole stuff! I thought they were just sailors that explored the world over in hopes of finding buried treasure! The happy faced LEGO pirates always remind me of that. Someone that happy couldn't possibly be making illegal copies of CDs and video games!
Oh my gosh! My adventure into the lego world began right in 1993, when I was almost 6, with sets 6852 "Sonar Security" and 6813 "Galactic Chief", shown right at the beginning of the video.. Thanks so much Jang!
I was born in 94 so not only i missed out on all of these, i was also unlucky enough to be inspired by sets such as these to become a LEGO fan (LEGO Island featured similar builds, which is the video game that really fired up my love for LEGO) despite not being able to buy any and instead be stuck in the "super simplified awkward builds" era. Thank you Jang, i used to love looking at LEGO catalogs, i still have a very worn out collection but it only dates back to 1999 and most of them are in Russian so i can't read them.
I was born in 2001 and I still play them sometimes. The problems today is that the computers are to smart so they messes everything upp, but I play on a old computer from 2007 and that works.
Mr Pumpkin LEGO Island? Unfortunately my disc got mysteriously cracked in half (i was so upset as a child), but i was able to play it using "other methods" and it worked fine. Unfortunately the only thing making it worth playing today is sheer nostalgia (and noticing how insane the islanders were, how did i deem them normal when i was a child?).
Loved getting those booklets witch was not often because you had to buy large sets but I would settle for the folded sheet that would feature a taste of available sets.
Thanks for the catalog review! Spent lots of time looking at the pages of Lego catalogs daydreaming of having some of the sets. Had some of these sets growing up and was mainly into the Pirates theme. Would love to see you review victory cup racers. It had the most playibility of all the sets I owned.
I really like the bounty boat. I have several of these catalogs/ old instructions I was actually wanting to get rid of. Kind cool to see one in a video.
I had that catalog too. WOW! Just looking back at it all I can remember what sets I had then (few) and what sets I wanted (all the space sets). As Jang said, Those were the days. 😌Hmmm.
As for the Airport Shuttle set, there are people on Ebay selling it from time to time (used one, of course), but the price is very high, if you would like to get one, be ready to pay $500 or more for it :)
Thank you for sharing this Jang! I had a lot of these sets as a kid and want to rebuild many of them, but I'm missing the instructions for most of them. So, so far it has been difficult to find the instructions because I don't know the names of the sets, so this video really helped!
I started playing Lego in something like 1997 really, but somehow, I had some of those sets, and this catalog also. Strange, but truth. I think there just was some old stuff on a market.
I think i have this booklet somewhere! and I see a number of sets I have :D ModelTeam was so awesome! isn't that kind of covered by Creator today? and I miss classic Technic :(
I was 5 when that one was released, and I can remember going through it... We could barely afford many Lego sets back then, so I'd have to use my imagination on how cool it would be to have most of them! And, yeah, I really agree about Paradisa! As a girl, I usually think most of Lego's sets themed towards girls have been a little sexist or patronizing (I mostly went for space stuff), but Paradisa was very interesting and used some great colors, I really miss it.
Thanks for this nice catalog review, Jang! I have some old catalogs myself, but with less quality. Your 1993 catalog looks like brandnew :) Good old days, most/all themes were very well done and designed. I agree with "Paradisa". It had alot of potential, but in the old days all of us "AFOL's" aren't to big into girls stuff, maybe because of our age xD. But after 15-20 years later, the old "girly" stuff could become great, especially for MOC's. Paradisa also it gives this great holiday feeling to us, i think. So long, Cobra
I really loved the old sets of Lego. And I loved the dioramas they did. And I got the gasstation that was in this booklet ^^ And where i live there is a little store that still sells it though.... well must be there some time now though. ^^
Hey, thanks for showing the catalog it brings back memories. I have to ask, do you think you might be picking up/reviewing the old pirate flag ship ? its sad Im looking at my old boat and I cant remember the sets name lol.
I hope nearly think Lego backgrounds are better. Like, whenever I see a commercial for Lego, the animated/drawn backgrounds just don't look right. It doesn't,'t fit, Lego and non-Lego. (Although I'm okay with outside scenes.)
it seems to me that they are just recycling the old ideas now with the modern lines and themes. I have seen several of these themes recycled time and time again even given that that catalog was from when I was a year old or less.
From what i understand, girls like real lego figurines just as much as boys do. Having a separate figure designed for girls is just silly. I hope Lego finally decides to drop the Lego friends figurine and instead create Lego City Paradisa.
WHAT!? Aimed at girls? Us girls have no right to like Lego >:c How dare they! I wish they could just make them gender neutral instead of saying PINK FOR GIRLS! the rest for boys. =/
I would love it if they made a "Classics" theme where old sets would be released a few times a year.
Yup, same. :D
Oh, the nostalgia!

My sister had all of the Paradisa sets and I loved them.
I actually still have them now.
Oh the nostalgia! That was my era of wild and imaginative Lego-playing.
To echo many others, what a great trip down memory lane!! I love your channel, keep up the amazing work! Blacktron takes me back. That line was too sweet.
I miss those raised base plates. Never had one, ALWAYS wanted one.

I was into Lego stuff EXACTLY at this time the most. Have so many sets from that catalog :D
+Mtaalas Same here. Seems most what i have is in there.
Got the airport shuttle for Christmas when I was about 7- 8 years old. Also got my first pair of Jordan's. One of the best Christmas' ever!!
Loved getting those booklets witch was not often because you had to buy large sets but I would settle for the folded sheet that would feature a taste of available sets.

Had some of these sets growing up and was mainly into the Pirates theme. Would love to see you review victory cup racers. It had the most playibility of all the sets I owned.
Oh man, that's my childhood right there! I still have a little bit of each from that catalog!
I really like the bounty boat. I have several of these catalogs/ old instructions I was actually wanting to get rid of. Kind cool to see one in a video.
Man, those were the days where they did good pirate stuff! And I'm not blinded by nostalgia.
Man, the good memories are flooding back. :,)
I had that catalog too.
WOW! Just looking back at it all I can remember what sets I had then (few) and what sets I wanted (all the space sets).
As Jang said, Those were the days. 😌Hmmm.
It is amazing how much Lego has come over the last 30 years
i had that catalog when i was a kid i loved pirates then and i cant wait for the new sets to come out
Aww, Model Team looks awesome. I hope you'll review some of the vehicles someday! And of course, can't wait for the next catalog look through :)
I actually remember that catalog from way back. The memories.
This catalog represents my childhood. I can't BELIEVE that Jang doesn't like Ice Planet! By far, my favorite Space theme.
I like those 3D base plates with the ramp!
They rarely have 3D base plates now...
Oh, that brings back memories. I had that exact catalog.
:-) this is one reasons why I love your channel! My fav classic and new sets
As for the Airport Shuttle set, there are people on Ebay selling it from time to time (used one, of course), but the price is very high, if you would like to get one, be ready to pay $500 or more for it :)
"Maniac", huh? I heard my name called! And today's my birthday, good coincidence! Cool looking guide!
***** Thanks!
Happy birthday! You get a cake! 🎂
Mooshroom Jockey Thanks!
Haha I remember my sister got the Poolside Paradise for christmas 20 years ago, I've got the pneumatic set the next year :)
Are you going to review the Ice Planet stuff aswell?
And I just notice how ridiculously many sets in this catalog I've had.
Best Pirat series!
They should bring back the shoulder pads!
you need the rebel hunter (space police) absolutely coolest play value set from space police and one of my favorites from my childhood
Thank you for sharing this Jang!
I had a lot of these sets as a kid and want to rebuild many of them, but I'm missing the instructions for most of them. So, so far it has been difficult to find the instructions because I don't know the names of the sets, so this video really helped!
I had so much sets from this year.
i agree whit you completely! I always loved the not-lego stuff in the dioramas and all the action going on in there:D
I started playing Lego in something like 1997 really, but somehow, I had some of those sets, and this catalog also. Strange, but truth. I think there just was some old stuff on a market.
I think i have this booklet somewhere! and I see a number of sets I have :D
ModelTeam was so awesome! isn't that kind of covered by Creator today? and I miss classic Technic :(
Well, personally love the "way cool" sets and the "radical" models :D
That was right around the time when I was a kid. I have a couple of those sets.
Also six minifigs for under $7? Shut up and take my money!
I was 5 when that one was released, and I can remember going through it... We could barely afford many Lego sets back then, so I'd have to use my imagination on how cool it would be to have most of them! And, yeah, I really agree about Paradisa! Paradisa also it gives this great holiday feeling to us, i think.
So long, Cobra
Oh man, the instant I saw Imperial Trading Post I suddenly remembered how much I use to want it, guess I'll pop on over to Ebay then
I really loved the old sets of Lego.

Childhood memories come alive ♥
My mom has the Dragon Wagon set! Ah, memories.
Am I the only one that thinks the old Lego sets from the 80s are cooler and more diverse?
Awsome!
Do you have some of 2000+ out of my childhood?
Reviews of them whould be very nice

I have that one!
This catalog is two years older than me.
Haha this is from my childhood for example i have that space minifigs so called battle pack ;) road signs pack and a different tree and fences pack :)
It's too bad Lego don't go back to selling parts packs like they used to; small wind screens, traffic signs, fences, rocket stages, etc..
I thought zack was the lego maniac whos jack?
Plzz plzz plzzzzzzz do classic pirates reviews
I think exxon oil co. was pushed outo of business by Octan's AWESOME TAKOS!!!!!
Friends call themselves Legos. They look like mega blocks.
Look for a lego Star Wars Death Star
It's Zach the lego maniac not Jack.
it seems to me that they are just recycling the old ideas now with the modern lines and themes. I have seen several of these themes recycled time and time again even given that that catalog was from when I was a year old or less.
I had that dragon
actually, i had alot of these sets

OMG
Those are some janky looking vehicles
girl
