    Pendragon is one of my favorite games. This is so awesome! I am very excited for the 6th edition

    Have Runequest & Call of Cthulhu and really like both. Was hesitant on Pendragon but may have to get the starter set. Congratulations on Chaosium recognizing your channel!

    Unlike many RPGs the essential game play of Pendragon hasn’t changed drastically since the first edition. Passions, traits, skills, the Winter Phase, glory all work pretty much the same. There certainly have been tweaks and adjustments made but that’s really all. What has changed a bit more are the various subsystems: the battle system, hunts, tournaments, and the management of your knight’s estate.

    I've been watching Eric Vulgaris' game here on TH-cam (every other Sunday morning) for a few years now. The way the mechanics work is super good, and definitely reinforce the type of play the designers wanted.
    Personally, I want to start back in the Age of Uther like the fifth edition did. Might go ahead and just use it, but switch passion mechanics to the newer edition.
    Also....Chaosium is sending you stuff??? SWEET!

      I too want to start the game earlier than 510. Thankfully Chaosium has said that they are going to release the Great Pendragon Campaign and earlier "eras" in a series of books, going all the way back to Vortimer even! Combine that with the mechanics coming in the Noble's Handbook and some other books to make a far more detailed family history and stuff and I'm SUPER EXCITED.

    My partner did most of the marginalia illustrations that you mentioned. She'll be thrilled to hear you like them!

    I picked up the Runequest box set and the Call of Cthulhu beginner box too (Both in pdf at least initially as Drivethru had them on sale for a dollar each) then picked up the Runequest beginner box physical copy.
    I like beginner box sets , rember them from the 1980's .
    These Chaosium box sets are so good , may have to pick up this Pendragon box set {thankyou for the review Lexi}
    I played Pendragon back in the day, I'd imagine this would be quite a nostalgia trip for me.
    I felt it just from this review !

    Just got my copy of this recently. Definitely looking forward to digging in. Arthurian mythology has never really been my bag, but everything about this game seems well crafted.
    I'm loving Chaosium's starter sets. I think there's talk of them putting out one for the current iteration of 7th Sea, too, but I'm not sure where they are with that.

    The call of cthulhu starter is great. As is the pendragon one (I picked up two of them, one is a gif.

    Personally not a huge fan of starter sets as I’m a compulsive writer and world-builder who HAS to make my own adventures.
    The setting of pendragon seems so cool I see why it was an inspiration for Knight.

    I'm a big fan of starter sets. I'm not sure I would find Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay actually playable without it! The Zweihander corebook is unworkable at 600 pages, whilst the starter set reduces this to 200 pages and clearly sets out the rules. As brilliant as the RuneQuest rulebook is the starter set is a clearer presentation of the rules too
