- Penn State Football fell short in a heartbreaking 52-49 loss to USC in the highest-scoring Rose Bowl ever played Monday evening. Following the tough loss, Penn State head coach James Franklin took questions at the postgame press conference will the entire team was available for interviews in the locker room.
as a SC fan, I thank PSU for an awesome AWESOME game, this was the best ive seen, win or lose.

As a Navy Fan I Was Rooting For Penn State In The Rose Bowl One Of The Best If Not The Best College Football Rose Bowl Games I've Seen Since 2006 National Title Game Between USC and Texas!
What a game! USC Fan here. I am seeing a few trolls rip on Penn State Coach Franklin. That Coach is AMAZING! Kudos to him and his program. Coach Franklin is incredible. I think he will surprise many in that nutty Big 10 conference. Let's hope that the powers that be in the CFP see what an 8 team playoff can do. And yes....I am so proud of Coach Helton and Every USC player FOR their GRIT. WHAT A GAME!!!! Best Rose Bowl in my lifetime! Fight on!
This coach was a CLASS act after such a heartbreaking loss. He definitely has some kids leaning towards committing to PSU a lot more after this effort and showing how much he cares about his players.
I'm a Trojan who was there. Thrilled with the hard fought win. Penn State is nothing but class and I LOVE James Franklin. He's a good man representing Penn State very well. Good luck next season. Lets get a rematch in the playoffs!

HAHAHAHA!!!! We are never going to win a title under Franklin and you can quote me on it and archive it. Championship caliber coaches dont choke like he did. Meyer, Saban, or Swinney finds a way to hold onto that W.
No shame Penn St. fans coming from a USC fan! You guys are good and played great, and in my opinion I think you guys were hosed and should have been one of the final 4 playoff teams! On any given day, anybody can beat anybody and I think you guys would have had a better chance to beat Clemson compared to Ohio St. I think both USC and Penn St. will be ranked in the top 5 next year starting the season, maybe the top 4.

Another example of why going to a playoff was a mistake. This historic game should have been followed by a Sugar Bowl that mattered. The committee isnt any better than the old Coaches, AP polls or BCS, so the result is no better. All the playoff accomplished is to reduce the importance of these amazing Bowl games - BUT The Rose Bowl just proved, it is STILL the one that matters.
Had them beat, interception killed us n at the end, but Penn State can play with SC. Both teams laid it on the line tonight, the future is bright for Penn State, and we will be back next year better and tougher then this year. WE ARE..........

The Shittany Lions laid an egg in the Rose Bowl Monday. James Franklin blew it against Pittsburgh,Michigan,and USC. I hope they are happy with his progress lol.

Franklin with the 5 star choke job. Hard to believe any top national recruits taking this guy seriously moving forward. He blew a 14 pt lead with 6 minutes left in full 80 year old Joepa fashion. It was embarrassing to watch as a PSU fan. Pathetic!
All this shows was that PSU was overrated from the jump, or the game regardless of the outcome, wouldn't have ended so close. USC deserves to be a Top 5 team at least
Selfish Stockton this game came down to the last minute, so how was PSU overrated? it was a battle in the trenches and a QB faceoff. Mcsorley and Darnold are just about the same person. you have to take the schedules into consideration because the PAC12 is nothing compared to the B1G.
You're tripping. The Big 10 is the weakest of the Power 6 conferences except for maybe the ACC. They are so overrated and like I said, regardless of outcome, the ranking they got was flat out wrong. But they lost. You really think there's a big difference between 9 and 5, when USC beat the number 4 team on the road? USC was clearly better, we already knew PSU was a second half team and it still wasn't enough

Um looking at the bowl standings. Big 10/Pac-12 are at the very bottom.....ohio st/penn st/michigan all LOSING their bowl games.
Washington (the best pac-12 team) getting embarrased by bama....
ACC/SEC are far and away the best conferences for football
No hate toward PSU, great fucking game, and program. BUT if you look at strength of schedule there isnt a team in DIV 1 football that had a harder sched than the Trojans.
