Penn State has won 8 of the last 9 championships, that’s unbelievable...it’s more unbelievable that top NCAA wrestling schools have dozens of championships whilst Penn State had only 1 prior. The greatest wrestler is quickly becoming one of the greatest coaches...that man is on his own level

I never knew anything about Cael until both my boys started wrestling. Then I read about what he had accomplished and I was truly blown away, granted my boys started much later in the sport and didn't have the added benefit of a coaching dad (I never wrestled since there wasn't a program wherever I attended school), but still his achievements in the sport are truly remarkable. . I think its basically the perfect storm of ability, drive, coaching, a strong support system etc. that gave the world Cael Sanderson. It might arguably be the greatest achievement in any sport in history.

True, having a dad coach and 2 older brothers. He also started officially at 9 years old. Most kids who start later and do not have a coaching dad will be behind a Cael Sanderson type. Best of luck to your boys though.

Sanderson is obviously an individual of incredible material. People like him certainly need to be studied in order to hopefully share and teach his traits to other individuals. Sometimes however you just have to take in the total and complete being because they warrant a holistic in the attempt to understand.

Bring more DI Programs back ASAP; it’s been long enough since Title IX and many of the SEC & ACC could begin adding back their DI lost back in the 90s! They have plenty of money, such as Clemson(who should have no problem with their Olympians they’ve had prior; plus Football/IPTAY Money, Facilities, & if NC State/UNC/Duke/App St/Citadel/Etc can...Clemson can too), Auburn, Alabama, UGA, It’s time! Cael is not a guy that got to the top and rode it out. He also has Olympic GOLD under his belt. Some of the NCAA 4X champions never transitioned to Olympic championships! Another reason the US needs to expose wrestlers to freestyle a lot earlier in their wrestling. Several folkstyle killers just never leveled up after college. The worlds are a joke compared to the Olympics. Only 6 weight classes in the Olympics and it only comes once every four years! THE BIG SHOW!!!
