In p4 I suggest tanking him in the arches/doors just up the ramps instead of where you did it. The way you do it he will start casting Pyroblast halfway down the ramp and that makes it much more annoying to move him to a better position to LoS his fireballs. Thanks for the video. It helped a bunch!
This video helped me formulate a tactic for defeating this boss myself. I did however make some adjustments. For one it's easier if you pull Sanguinar even further away towards Al'ar's room than you did. That way it's incredibly simple to kill him before the other advisors reach you in p3. In p3 I killed Sanguinar first, then Telonicus, then Thaladred and last Capernian. Killing Telonicus second is because I want to get rid of toy so I can safely equip the infuser to get the damage redux.
Hey there! Great vid tho! Just got my first solo-KT today thanks to your vid :) Im from Austria so my english may be a lil hard to understand... sorry for thir. But i got a lil hint for you, which i found out while farming him with my paladin-mate. When u fight against KT himself, you can change ur weapon to main right after that strange white "shock"(looks like shaman's thunderstorm imo). that allows u to place a "hard" rip-dot that ticks with full dmg, be4 changing back to staff. Thx again! :)
@Willyum22789 Infernal Protection won't refresh if it's already active. The stun from remote toy is entirely random. If you already have conflag on you you can swap weapon (you won't get CC'd) and refresh the buff because she won't conflag again any time soon. You don't really lose any damage LoSing the fireballs. You only lose a couple of auto swings at worst and you avoid spending 25 energy which is worth WAY more damage. LoSing is the high dps strat.
@Willyum22789 Thing is that the extra time you get to dps him when he is running back is the same amount of extra time you get to dps him instead of waiting for him to get to you. Well, minus him pausing in the middle of the ramp to pyroblast. The net effect on the kill time is really +-0 seconds and you get him in a better position to start p4 with (you also don't start with a phoenix already spawned)
@mehkra O ya jus realized another reason (while i was doing KT) i prefered him further towards the entrance of TK, when you hit 50%... u dash / stampeding roar and keep up with him as he runs bac to his spawn spot to activate the next phase... with my gear I can push him to 1-10% (just rememebr to swap bac ur main weapon)
You can kite as long you run out of the room where KT is before the first npc becomes active, just as I do in the video. I am unsure about enh shammy mechanics, but I dps with the int staff at the cost of losing stats as well. But as I mentioned, I dont know how your class works. If your biggest issue is going to be the lock, maybe you can have it as your first kill.
@Peppermynthe erm i dont remember my ilvl when i recorded this but i think ~t11 gear cuz i see my tier wings Currently, i dont berserk the weapons down but i am far more geared now, ~ 395. Bererk swiping w/ the mace target should kill all of them except the bulwark which will have to be single targeted down. Remember to interrupt the healing casts he does.Other then that, try thorns before they reach you.
Just did it again today, butt i changed the strat a bit. I killed sanguinar, taladred and Telonicu right behind keal's door, and pulled the mage to the entry-area of the instance. After the weapon-phase, i equipped the staff and nuked down the mage, so i could easily fight the whole phase with my main-weapon(no fireballs, no long-duration cc). Also you should mention that you can Out-range the fireballs. So if he casts pyroblasts you can run away to gain about 10 seconds free for heal.
@Gegi1992 Well my gear changed enough, that i get ~ 1 pyroblast phase from Kael if everything works out and the 4 advisors take about 2 minutes. The stun and fears are gona be annoying, only reason I killed the shield guy first since his cc isn't avoidable besides los. You cannot los the pyroblasts as it has a very far range and goes through walls. The normal fireballs he casts are los'able which i do mention @ 11:15
@Inquisitor121 The flask food and pot goes a long way... i still use them just to speed up the kill and i am currently ilv 396. Dont jump off alar platform to heal, kite them. the hardest part is the 3-4 remaining advisors honestly. Get that and p1 kael'thas and a lucky alar might be yours.
@mehkra I dont think the defeating which adivsor first, besides Sanguinar really matters. as both the mage and engineer ccs you. So its rly bad to swap weapons at that point. You can refresh the infernal protection as long you cast heals.
@mehkra Yup my strat has changed a bit since my first down. Most of what you say makes sense besides the fireball thing... because if you spend too much time jus plainly losing, you extend the phase way too long. At my point, I get about 2-3 pyroblast phases typically, and i push him to 50% alrdy.
its not necessary to kick every fireball, as you can heal it when you need/have the available gcd. You cannot interrupt pyroblast until you broken his shield that he has up. If you have macro for the weapons, try to keep up the cosmic infuser buff, as it will help mitigate both fireball and pyroblast dmg by 50%.

Nice strat. I'm workin on leveling a bear/kitty for s&g's so this will def help pass the time. Question though, what is the name of the mod you use above your character bar that shows your debuffs and combo points? Thats a perfect placement for how i have my ui set up. Id rather have it there instead of in a bar config like dot timers. Thanks!
realy realy nice guide. i did a bit different spec and i had only stamina sockets with 4500 agi. it took me ages and i was so lucky at the end it shouldnt be legal. i was with 20 hp when he died. also....if you going with a friend remember to pick up the dagger. my 2 friends tried to 2 man him. im also wondering what do you reforge to? the regroth is a nice one. ill get that instead of reju glypth
@Inquisitor121 Define awesome gear? I did this in t11-12 i believe. You can get better gear w/ the new dungeons. It is FAR more difficult if your in pvp or laacking some gear of course. But jumping down the ramp will cause thaldred to tp you to him as that happens when he knocks u up into the air. Not sure if u sit in bear trying to dps, but go cat and lifebloom/thorns yourself before engaging the weapons. It helps a good amount.
Third thing. I used a macro like this: /cancelaura Infernal Protection I can decide myself when to refresh the buff since it can't be reapplied while still active. This way I don't run the risk of having it expire right as I'm going to get pyroblasted because I can control the uptime better myself. Fourth. Don't interrupt his fireball, it's a waste of energy. Always LoS the fireballs. You can't LoS the pyroblast though.
@Diropa7 You dont get mc'd if you are the only player "tank" that kael can hit... pets are consider players. So if you got ur pet tanking, you will always get mc'd. Umm you can lookup a huner vid of soloing kt but i believe you can Los when kt emotes "Obey me" or other similar mc mechanic
Im having a problem with phase 3, just because of the CC lock; the staff helps, but as an enhancement Shaman I lose so much from equipping it. I have a question though, how am I meant to kite the mobs around The Eye when there's bloody doors over the entrances as soon as you engage him?
I tried soloing this also but seems impossible cuz my gear kinda sucks and i have bulwark up aswell once he rezzes all his advisors... So i can for the room where al'ar is to jump down and heal up but once you're in mid air, Thaldred seems to somehow teleport me to his location and bang me up well... I wouldn't recommend trying this unless you got rly awesome dps (with flasks, food etc)...
@Willyum22789 Well my ilvl is 368 and when I tried soloing I had food, flasks etc... I'm also fully gemmed and enchanted aswell... It would be a hell of a lot easier to try soloing him with about 380 ilvl and the polearm from dw... I only managed to get weapons down once in time and then i went to the Al'ar room and I think Thaldred launched my all across the room lol... Anyways, my point, this encounter is easier if you have good gear... Not sure I can pull it off with mine
I'm 376 or so ilvl, altho my stuff is reforged for tanking- I'm having a problem bursting the weapons down. The farthest I got was with the bulwark still up, and I changed to Sanguinar to kill him, then was unable to heal up to finish the bulwark off and start the rest. Usually there are a few weapons still up. Any tips? I am tigers fury -> berserk -> swipe spamming with the healing mace targetted.
@Willyum22789 The problem i had with los'ing the Fireballs is, that its a bit hard to manage, beside avoiding fireblast. just wanted to give an alternative way for ppl who got problems with that. Ur the master, i wont challange you ;)
How are you handling Kael's Mind Control? Im a hunter that can do it "Normal" way, but i dont really like it, and since i suck at soloing stuff i think this tactic would be much easier even as a hunter :)
He wanted to know if ferals can solo it, you do it with 5 people. Last time I tried her as a feral, it was with t11-12 gear and it was near impossible because of the spam fear adds taking up too much time to kill. However, I have seen a moonkin solo it which is wayy easier and much more doable. Hehe its not solo when you got 4 other people :D
ya i think you can as long your trinkets and weapon are good I did this in about 370s ilvl i believe, t11 which is far lower stats then ilvl 400 pvp gear
last boss of SSC...haha dude its kill adds till boss comes and nuke her in like 2 hits, mechanics dont even play an issue in this. I take a Druid,DK,Warr,Sham,Priest and a hunter thru these raids solo almost every week. just gotta get lucky, thats all it comes down to, also come buffed helps alot. Invis pots and speed pots should also be part of your solo adventures

I believe shadow priest solo'd this b4 i did
Being range makes the fight all that much easier as you range the fire mage's acane blast and the melees

Williee, how do you get that steady heal in cat-mode. I am thinking about lvling a feral-druid but can't seem to get a heal in feral-mode. ????????
predatory swiftness healing touch is about all the healing you need, rejuv as well and it will heal you over time
what staff?

Lmao this is the exact problem i had man. He does two back to back pyroblasts for 50k and the fireballs do a ton of damage.
way easier on the hunter ... but this is really nice
