Another option to save on your magnets is to use metal washers. They are round discs with a hold in the center, use to secure a screw to a bolt. You can find them at home depot or Lowes in the nails and screws section.
Thank you for your idea. Most people can't find these metal disks so that would be another great option. The only difference that I can think about is the thickness. But probably about the same as using another magnet. Thanks again we can all learn something from each other! Hugs, Lisa
I'm so glad you have enjoyed the tip. I love to save money so that I have more money to buy more crafts! lol Thanks for letting us know where you get your magnets. That will be very helpful to me, for sure. Thanks for joining me in my craft room, and for your kind words. Lisa
Dear Adrienne, They are called Tin Cap Disks. They are usually used to help hold down roofing felt. I would imagine anyplace that handled roofing material would have these disks. I get mine from my local home Depot store. Let me know if you still can't find them. Good Luck, Lisa
Great tip! Where did you buy these? I checked both Home Depot and Lowes. Lowes had similar ones but they were in a 6 lb box. I'd love to see if the are available in a smaller diameter as well. Lastly, do you have any concerns about them rusting from humidity?
I will go as soon as possible and locate these at some of the larger box stores. I will report back to you as soon as I find them. I no longer live where I purchased this box from. I don't believe they come in a smaller size but I'll check that out also. I live in Florida and I have never had them rust. They are made to last in the outdoors. Thanks for your comments and questions.
