It works so well with the environment, and the execution in the details is exquisite. I do believe they have truly defined a new benchmark in quality, for a style that it’s overwhelming being botched by many garden summer houses.

George says there's not much privacy in the bathroom whilst standing not far from a curtain to block the view. I guess it was a way to segway into the privacy glass.

@@spiralpython1989 Looking at it's location I would guess that it's classified as a static caravan and there is a maximum size for those of 20m x 6.8m. It's done like that so that Planning Permission isn't required.

@@NickLea they struggled to gain planning permission on the build for many reasons, one being light leakage, they had to buy that special glass to block light from escaping at night to meet planing constraints. That smart glass alone cost £100,000

I suspect that it’s just going to require high maintenance. And a full re cladding every couple of decades. The decking will definitely require replacing overtime. As long as the timber frame is kept dry the only other issue I see would be the foundation ground screws and their lifespan. However they can probably be replaced by jacking the building every 60years or however long they last. It’s a lovely house and I bet they’ll make enough through booking to cover all the work

How so? In comparison to many build technologies I feel that this construction has a lesser impact.
