No insurance will cover you on normal insurance.. They all have the gig driving exclusion statement. You will also potentialy get sued by your passengers also. Way too risky.
I got hit without commercial insurance, while I had a uber passenger. I usually end my uber when in the last turn for their destination.
This passenger told me we were in the wrong spot. I found community to turn around in. I did my u turn and got hit on the front bumper passenger side. My insurance did t cover it. Progressive will offer half the damage costs. I emailed my pictures to the agent. They price the estimate based on the pictures.
Not a full inspection from a mechanic. I will reply to this comment once this case is resolved. My windshield washer fluid resevoir, did bust on impact; so I just sent a picture of all its content spilt on the ground. Wish me luck! I could expect this to be resolved Monday or hopefully this friday.Friday. I forgot to mention that I didn't end the ride on app this time, due to the frustration I hadn't gotten the right address from the passenger. Update here The cost is $4,600 estimate, and I'm paying without insurance. No claim; then no reported accident to the car.
Okay so I'm going to help you here because I did a little different. I found out by doing that tutorial that most insurance will not cover you if you do over and Lyft. Exception that Allstate and Progressive will give you a commercial insurance policy and 100% cover you. That's what I did I used to have Triple-A I'm actually paying less yes less with Allstate than I was with AAA and I have full coverage and I'm in the light and I believe that's what we should all do

Why did GEICO drop you? Was it because you tried to file a claim on your personal insurance or because of the fact that you merely do rideshare? I am just wondering what their explanation was?
RIdeshare drivers cannot wear wireless earbuds during a trip with a passenger. If that happens,call the drivers insurance company and mention that it part of terms of service from Uber and Lyft is not allowed during a trip. I see many rideshare drivers wearing their wireless earbuds while on the road.
I would not get insurance through Progressive. I went to a Walmart with a friend several years ago, and we returned to the parking lot to see a huge dent on the driver's side and Walmart refused to release the surveillance without a supoena, and Progressive denied his claim because they said he crashed the car himself? He ended-up paying a $600 deductible to repair the damage, and Progressive still said that he was at fault.
If you on a trip with rider and you not at fault... there is no need to report to your insurance. Unless the at fault driver reports it to your insurance. Tell the rider Uber or at fault drivers insurance will pay... don't need to involve your own insurance...

Progressive is cheapest because they don't pay or worst payer unless they are sued
I just got into an accident while driving a few days ago, Uber customer service reached me and provide something first it was very kind and helpful at that time, However after that seems like they don't cover my accident... they just tell me you can use your personal auto insurance. it was not my fault, someone hit my car but they don't take responsibility.... what a hell...
Even your own company won't pay if you r driving for rideshare co. Always purchase extra coverage rideshare insurance.

I would say that depends on how much insurance the other guy has and whether you get a lawyer.

Yep, the driver will end the ride and you can ask to reimburse the fare and if the accident was not really serious, they ask you not report it to Uber because Uber won’t help at all. That happened to me one time, it wasn’t my driver fault….and he told me the whole story about Uber don’t care in issues like this, and also added that if I decided to report it; it was ok but since I was ok with no injuries I decided no to report it, because I did not want to screw his job. I just call another Uber to pick me up at that location and even though I said he did not have to reimburse me the fare he did later. Bye ✌🏼
@@melissaparedes7006 they can do that also, request a ride for you, but the driver have to call to a 1800 number from uber company, and that take a loooong time, but if you are in a hurry is easier to ask for reimbursement and request a new ride and if he says no, he must call to book a new ride for you. ;)
