Studying another artists work is critical and I'm glad you made a point of it. The reason is that you don't know what you don't know until you see a good example of things being done right. This is crucial for understanding and things starting to click in your head more easily so that down the road if you run into a similar situation your mind will recall good practices without you having to think about it too much.
This was a really well summarized video! I'm trying my best to improve the models I make and I've always been wondering if you were ever gonna make tutorials and now they're here! 100% sticking around to watch those I adore your models ^w^
This is a very good sum up of what's required to make a Vtuber model but also for the while time i could only watch your model's ears because they look so incredibly soft and fluffy and just felt like petting them
This is honestly so interesting to watch. This whole process seems so much more simple now! I’m so tempted to make one but I know I’ll never use it lol
I've watched so many videos on this in the past and this one finally gave me the confidence to sit down and poke around with stuff. Learning Vroid first and then taking that to blender is so helpful to learn how stuff works.
this video actually makes me think it isn't so hard to make a vtuber model! You explained everything so well and i'll definitely be using this for when i finally get around to starting
I'm not an artist and neither have I thought about modelling extensively before. But the amount of passion and enthusiasm you portrayed in this video has made me want to learn;maybe make a Vegeta or menhera chan vtuber model!
Very good last advice! I do'nt do 3D stuff, I draw, but I see so many beginners getting into the mindset of "doing things alone" or "I do'nt want to check how others do". Checking references and referencing better artists is so, so important to progress. You can't see and understand your mistakes if you don't compare your work to other's!
Thank you so much Blep! I haven't watched it just yet, but I will have it in my Water Later since I am a bit busy. I'm excited to watch it and will learn everything that I can from this video so thank you for your hard work!!
i watched this video to learn how to make a vtuber model myself because i don't have the funds to commission one as of now, and oh my gosh you are so adorable!
To take the place of a streamer at the same time as a Vtuber initially seemed strange to me, but then interesting. At the moment, I think this is a great way to express yourself and to find your like-minded people, and just surround yourself with people who are pleasant to you. My fantasies about it seem a little childish... but maybe if one day I get into it and I can create my own model, it will greatly affect my life. I can afford things to some extent that I can't afford in real life. but it's still a long way from that.
This is a great vid on how to get started, thanks! I found it real damn helpful. Hopefully I can get really good and make a cool personal model someday to make youtube and stream games with it too
I have a deep understanding of Basic Human Anatomy and Kinesiology, which I think could help with understanding the modeling of Humanoids! Such as the knee line shapes, they followed the shape of the knee cap, which is where most of your knee muscles connect to.
I use blender. This is my first time hearing about this software. I hope everyone watching this understands how much time and effort this will cut. I'm talk about hours of effort gone for someone who is good and modeling. While you can't reach the same heights as using blender or something like that. It's so so easy in comparison.
Anything in life takes time to learn, but it doesn't take away from the fun as long as you put your mind to it!! I just want people to not feel discouraged because I have no university or any other background in making models myself!!
@@Blep35 same here friend. You did a great job, I'm self taught and even now after a few years of modeling I can tell you that software is a great starting point for people to get into it. Keep up the good videos 👍
Even though I haven't done any 3D modeling in my life, I use to draw a lot and I am a software engineer. I can already see the value of using VRoid first to get most of the general look down, before getting into the small details and creating a refined product using Blender. I have worked on Unity before and I'm not a fan of the slow, clunky drag and drop UI. I think I'll focus on making a model first and then worry about the movement mechanics and accuracy of the live tracking. Thanks for the video, it gave some solid insight on the VTuber design process.
2:49 Omg, was not expecting to see my chibi model here! Always a surprise to see it sneak up on me after all these years! Hehe, but anyway, great introductory tutorial! I'm currently trying to make a selfie vtuber model from scratch, so I've been looking around how others have done it and what they used. :3
This is giving me 2012 youtube video guides, and I love it! edit: I love how motivational you sound in it, I'm not even interested in making a model, but your motivational cuteness makes me happy >//////
so glad this popped into my recommended feed! i don't know if i'll ever be able to reach this level (right now i don't think i even have the tech needed to start unfortunately) but this is a fun straightforward video i'll always have to guide me if i do, and that makes me feel a lot more prepared. you did a great job with this, and plus your model is super cute!! i'll be sure to check out the other vids in this series :)
like with any art you can learn by inspecting and even tracing other peoples to get a feel for where everything should go. I'm constantly comparing my meshes to other models by other people to see where i can improve
i just downloaded unity into my computer, im so excited for step 2! I'm gonna be making VRChat avatars as opposed to vtuber stuff though, its still gonna be loads of fun!!!
I want to become a vtuber but still don't know what to do or how to do so I wanted to learn how to do the chacters so thank you very much for the video :>

Oh boy... Good thing i observed and studied for a long time both the nsfw and sfw, gaining more knowledge along 2000s to nowadays artists and other media, it's gonna have a huge nostalgia impact on both design, aesthetic, background and personality. Hmpf, I can't put in words, but it's gonna turn out personal and maybe a bit professional... I'll take more time and get more headaches, that's for sure, but it will be more smooth, perfectly polished and fluid than most my works i guess. It's strange only now i got the same eyes and understand how many angles all of my fav artist saw things, and how many more angles and horizons i can see further each time i look at it.. weird but I'm grateful and clear on what to do with my ideas thanks for them haha ′^^
Omg your avatar is so cute. I couldn't make past the intro without hitting the subscriber button. As for the guides; Thank you, these will be very helpful as I only just visited VRChat the first time about a week ago and am looking to make something personal but have no idea how. I'm also a desktop user with social anxiety, so I hope the guides have tips on how I can add interactive (and possibily lightly communicative) things to my avatar so I can react to people in fun ways, without having to use my mic.
I don't know why but this this is just making me remind myself of a meme tell me you're adorable without telling me you're adorable be like this a tiny adorable red creature
Your character was so cuuute :) (so much so that I had to rewatch the video XD) Edit, I had to come back just to see the cuteness again (I promise I'm not a creep, but the character is just so cuuute)
well done thanks for the advice ! , though i am currently only using a laptop so making a model will be more difficult and would like to figure out another way to make the models from scratch will also let you know about it to if i come across it and will find a better method in creating a whole model from the ground up !
tysm for this, but due to me being impatient af im just gonna jump straight into blender first, then i know myself that i will come creeping back into vroid

I don't want to be a Vtuber, I just wanted to watch the cute fluffy fox
I'm happy
so am i :D

the way your ears are bouncing a bobbing around is hypnotizing me.... maybe i need to make a model with something bouncy or flow-y like that;;;
this is such a great overview video :D! I like that you explain why each program is handy ^^ tysm!
I wish to make a 3D model someday for 3D art with my fursona and human OCs. Thank you for making this video!

No offense, but the thumbnail make it looks like you made this model from scratch, while the original base is obviously Koume by Hamuketsu
I’m so glad you posted this because now I’m interested in the base!
solo entendí que tu mamá te abandono
Who else is just looking at her ears flop around like its so cute

Tap G twice for Edge Slide!? You saved me from the headache of trying to search for that function! Thanks!
Can confirm - this is the route I learned, exactly this order of software and steps, and its MUCH easier, than starting in Blender.
Do any of the programs cost money?
@@KitCatKayTTVA bit of a late reply, but no
I didn't click for the tutorial but for the model. OMG so cutie! I like characters like your model (hair and color palette)
This got recommended to me I don't know if I should feel skeptical or be in awe
