I have decided to go with Metal as I started looking at Revolut simply due to that one perk of the FT. The extra £30 a month for ultra is not worth it for me.
One important part to clarify if you make another video on Revolut is the car hire insurance. It only covers the EXCESS. This means you should still buy car insurance when you go abroad. You usually have to pay a few hundred euros in excess to cover any damage so you don't have to pay thousands but, that excess part you would usually lose. Revolut protect that excess amount, they don't offer full insurance. Just thought worth calling out as your description of it in this video made me think it covered me fully.
Thanks for helping me come to Metal as being the right plan for me!

Hey Tom👋 Super glad to hear you're going with the Metal plan - it's a sleek choice! 👌 And you're absolutely right about the car hire insurance. It's a crucial point and I appreciate you bringing it up. 🙏
Revolut's car hire insurance indeed covers only the excess, not the whole shebang. It's like having a safety net for the "just in case" moments, but not the full armor. I'll make sure to highlight this in future videos to avoid any confusion. 🎥💡
Thanks a ton for your feedback and well done on joining the Metal squad💥 Cheers

Love your Revolt videos. I love the app and using more and more now. I did upgrade to the Ultra plan as I loved the partner subscriptions. NordVPN and Deliveroo. Plus I really like the physical platinum card.
But I have decided to down grade to Premium. I still get the NordVPN and the Deliveroo. Also I still get to keep and use the Platinum card. I did have to pay a month break fee but over all I will be saving £37 a month. I think the Premium plan is amazing value now.

Thanks a lot and fully agreed, Premium is a steal at this price, Revolut now really needs to step up their Ultra offering, otherwise many people, possibly even myself, might downgrade in the future. Cheers

Thanks a lot for the detailed comparison. I’m moving to Czech Republic for 3 to 5 years from Germany and I’m wondering if it’s possible to get an IBAN from Revolut as the only bank account and receiving salary or will I still need a regular Czech bank account and move money to Revolut manually?

    • @SmartMoneywithKai
      @SmartMoneywithKai  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi 👋
Glad you found the comparison helpful! Here’s what you need to know about using Revolut as your main bank account in the Czech Republic:
      Using Revolut:
IBAN Availability: Revolut does provide IBANs, which you can use to receive your salary. They offer local IBANs for many countries, but you should check if they provide a local Czech IBAN or a Euro IBAN. But it looks like they do help.revolut.com/en-CZ/help/receiving-payments/transfers-info/international-iban/business/
Salary Payments: Many employers will accept an IBAN from Revolut for salary payments. However, it’s best to confirm with your new employer in the Czech Republic to ensure they can transfer your salary to a Revolut account.
      Considerations:
Local Services: Having a local Czech bank account might still be beneficial for accessing local banking services, ATMs, and potentially lower fees for certain transactions.
Manual Transfers: If your employer prefers a local Czech bank, you might need to open a Czech account and then transfer funds to Revolut manually.
In summary, while you can potentially use Revolut as your primary account, it’s a good idea to have a local bank account as a backup to ensure smooth financial transactions in the Czech Republic.
      Cheers,
      Kai

      Hi 👋
If you're living in France and considering Revolut, the Standard plan is a solid start. It’s free and gives you the basics like foreign exchange and budgeting tools. If you need more features like higher withdrawal limits or travel insurance, check out the Premium or Metal plans. Personally I am on the Ultra plan and love it, but I also travel a lot and spend a bit more per month so it makes sense for me.
