- Another incredible day on Devils Lake, ND. Since Devils Lake came onto my radar years ago it wasn't the Yellow Perch or the Walleye Ice fishing I wanted to visit for, it was the White Bass. Huge thanks to Blake and Nate Lafleur for the awesome day on the ice!

We catch a bunch of white bass on lake Winnebago in winter and they work well for pickled fish. In a good year we catch pails full every day. Super fun fish to catch

I’m in northern Ontario Canada never caught them threw the ice but got a spring spot this year average was 17 to 18 inches awesome video and great catching my phone is 20 and a quarter luv fishing them a blast for sure

We catch white bass all spring on the Detroit river once the walleye run is over. They are good eating. Awesome video.
First fish fry I ever had was a bunch of white bass we caught as kids in Winneconne Wi and nothing as big as the ones you guys were pulling in.

1.3" tantrum has been deadly on the striped bass here in southern Iowa. However the hooks need upgraded as a #5 fish is to big for the factory hooks. But that bait has out fished all.
Love a good cleaning station we have some around fort peck in montana. Not as nice as this one but still super appreciated 🙏.

Im from North Dakota, Ive never fished devils lake, just Lake Sakakawea you should fish there with a guide, some awesome awesome fishing, maybe you even come for the Later summer Salmon fishing! The local Game and Fish department stocks Chinook Salmon in the big lake it is awesome!

Yes white bass on the ice is crazy. They are so fun to catch and good table fair. But they are some picky fish.

Jay you have to fish Lake Winnipausakee in New Hampshire USA. They have huge white perch. Hook up with NH fishing guide Tim Moore. You will not be disappointed.

I have two giant white bass in my freezer. one from this summer, one from a couple weekends ago (we were perch fishing). What's the recommended prep on these? Smoker? Fryer? Blackened for tacos?
Next time, cook em up fresh, same day. Coming out of the freezer, spend some time cutting away any lateral lines (gray flesh), and belly meat. They’re fairly oily, and those fats are what’s going rancid in the freezer…. Good luck.
@@jayrobertson232 idk if you were replying to me or not; I did cut out all lat lines and belly fat etc. bc I didn’t want them to go bad. I know they’re kind of oily, so I wasn’t sure about frying. Smoked, then shredded into a taco is what I’d normally do with oily fish like a laker, but idk if that would work with white bass or not?

I would imagine so but can't say from personal experience. I prefer any fish during hard water.
