I scalped the top of my lawn using that exact Greenworks to even out my yard no problem. Over a dozen blokes I know (including professionals) have also got rid of their petrol mowers and use exclusively electric / battery mowers. They aren't all the same, not even close.

Are you going scarify and aerate before the top dress??
Yeah mate best to do thoes things first then jump into a top dress
Those toys(battery mowers) are useless for most things including scalping.
