    I love the idea of using the adjustable cakes molds (which I did not know existed) and the big ice cubes. Bravo. I love the choice of colors and especially the intensity of the socks. For myself, I prefer the most intricate part of a shirt pattern to be up near my face or shoulders. My hips don't need any extra attention.

    I think the shirt came out nice. Always love the color palette. I'm not crazy about starting on the bottom, I'd rather like to see the design going from the neck down, gravity going down. I'm thinking the design gets lost way down the shirt, I don't think the design is visable when wearing. But, I always love what you come up with. I always appreciate any and all videos you post. Thanks!!! 🥰

    Fun design, love the marbled look. Why did you do the socks in the muck? Fabulous ice cubes you scored. Have you tried gravity effect with liquid dye? Love you explore different techniques. Fun FUN!

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I have done a gravity type technique before with liquid. Tie Dye Hobo used to do a lot of them and he called them the hang dye. He has quite a few TH-cam videos showing his technique.
      I muck dyed the socks for convenience. I was gravity dyeing 2 other shirts at the time and I didn't want to have to continue adding ice to the socks.

    So nice, Angie, I love your color choices. I noticed that it was windy and some of the powdered dye fell down on the shirt while you were applying it up top. Did that cause the dye flecks on the shoulder? Beautiful shirt. Thanks for sharing.

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes, I think that's where those came from. It's always windy here, and so it's a challenge to not have the dye blow where I don't want it to. That adds an extra element of challenge to the gravity dyes. 😀

    Looks great. Question: how do you fix a tie dye design mistake. For instance, I tried to make a heart design but it turned out to be more of a circle. Can I fix it?

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either do a reverse dye on it, tie a design on top and dye over it, or paint a design over it. It kind of depends on the particular shirt. You can't share photos on TH-cam, but you can click my link below this video and send me a photo on facebook. I'd be happy to take a look.

  • @riyyasyafathianfawwas3522
    @riyyasyafathianfawwas3522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    after using soda ash, after it dries, do you need water glass to fix the color?

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I use fiber reactive dye and all it needs to properly bond with the fabric is soda ash (sodium carbonate). Then once the dye is on the shirt it needs to be left in a space that is warm (above 70 degree Fahrenheit) for at least 12 hours (I prefer to leave it at least 24-48 hours though)after the ice melts to permanently bond with the fabric.

  • @janettegonzalez984
    @janettegonzalez984 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I want to try to tie dye, my question is by using this products and following the techniques do you think the longevity of keeping the dye in the fabric is longer than using dyes from stores. And does still come out dye in every wash? Also are this products safe for sensitive skin ? Thank you

    • @FunEndeavors
      @FunEndeavors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the dye is used properly, it is permanent. Excess dye will come out of the shirt with the rinse out, but the shirt will not continue to fade. I have shirts that I dyed 10+ years ago and they still look super vibrant even after being washed over and over again. Usually my tie dye shirts will wear out from use rather than fade from washing.
      As far as the dyes being safe for sensitive skin, after the shirt is finished it will be perfectly fine for sensitive skin. The dye itself shouldn't bother sensitive skin, but the soda ash will. Soda ash dries and irritates my skin, so I always wear gloves when handling it and a respirator when using it in powder form. If you follow some safety measures, you should be fine. I also always wear a respirator when using the dye in powder form. It is super fine and you don't want to inhale the particles.
