Was lucky to meet Steve at work while he was picking a vehicle up for delivery, I was a bit star struck but a nice down to earth guy with no time for bullshit, would love to learn from him.
He is a real hero, all theese called nice weather truckers could it make even that far like him, I think he would also be a exelent driver here up in north europe, keep on trucking Steve!
Hello Steve i have only just heard that you had a health issue I really hope your problem is fixed mate been watching the series from here in the UK since day 1 I really hope the producers keep on making this brilliant serious I would be lost without seeing you and the dog and the rest of the guys ,God bless Steve..

With all this rain water which is a common problem in that part of Australia you would think that they would carve out the biggest of man made lakes to harvest this resource.
A lot of the monsoon rainwater ends up in a lake anyway (Lake Eyre) a couple of months after it falls and even if you did make a bloody big lake in QLD or the NT, what's the point? There's nothing out there and if you tried to pipe it to cities you'd have the world's most expensive water. All trapping it would do would be to deprive any number of eco systems of a much needed inundation every year.
Everything is hardcore in Austrália. Either it's 45 degrees celsius full of snakes, spiders and sandy roads or it rains a little and the roads disappear. Then come the crocs. And the snakes and the spiders.
Feel like this road should have been built to be more elevated than the surrounding to avoid flooding like that.. But then again, not all roads are equally worth putting money into i guess..
That was NOT the result of a cyclone. I'll grant you it would have been rated had the low pressure passed over water but those floods were the result of a couple of low pressure systems coming down over land. This footage was made when very shallow. It was 15kms of up to 1.5mtrs deep at the worst. I drove it at 1mtre in my Dmax with the family and almost didn't get back. I have some great footage driving it just as they closed the road for quite a few weeks.
Youd think they would be smart enugh to put concreat culverts und the road in the dry season where its needed and elavate the roads well their at it in those spots
It might be available on Foxtel if you have that in your region. The clip is from a series called "Outback Truckers" made in Western Australia and is one of my favourite programs here in Australia. Question for the viewers when does Aussie gold hunters start I'm in the U.S. and don't have much info available to me...help Napa valley California...peace mate's happy New year...
Apart from the fact the roads are dead straight our there, what they try to avoid showing you on TV is that that there are regular roadside markers and also depth indicators so that drivers can work out where the sides of the road are and how much water is over it. Gotta make reality TV a bit more exciting than reality really is. 😊
@@mackenzienewman5838 Yeah, we don't have road trains running around the highly populated Eastern Seaboard. You only see them out in the middle of nowhere where the length of them isn't a big worry to other drivers.
@@Fuckthesystem-ro5wm Its not reality television, this is real! Real men and women doing real jobs in the Australian Outback. They are not paid for this. Of course we push the drama, but trust me I am an editor on the show and this is real and that's why it works. People respond.

Isn't this country fully developed yet?? Those are some bad roads to drive on
70% of Aus is outback and has only 5% of population
So it’s not viable financially to be building bridges and roads
