Do British Veterans Regret Fighting World War 2?

  • The idea that fighting World War 2 was a good thing is immediately taken for granted and if you dare oppose that narrative then you are viewed as some kind of evil extremist. This applies to generation after generation. The veterans themselves, however, are seemingly never asked. What does that brave generation of the war years really think? They blindly sacrificed everything for Britain in what they at the time believed to be a just cause. Do they still believe this? Do they regret it? Let's cut through the post-war propaganda and hear the views of the men themselves. Their generation, at the very least, tells it how they see it.

me and some close friends were aquaintences to a German SS tank gunner from the 2nd SS Panzer division, he told us of his youth and growing up in Austria as well as his experiences during and after the war. (He served eastern front Oct 1941 to 1945) when he realised we were a sane group of people he shed a tear and called us ''Gute Jungs'' ((good boys)
He moved to NZ in 1954 and was an avid mountaineer and skiier, he helped build cabins for skiiers in the Southern Alps and organised youth groups for schools to send kids to learn how to ski etc he did a lot for the local community. in the 10s his house burnt down and people had to hold him back to prevent him from running back into the burning house to save his war medals (which we later replaced with replicas for him)
He passed away in 2020, and the second he had passed away, the national news villified him, the hut named after him which he had built for kiwi skiiers got its name changed, and his name got absolutely dragged through the dirt by the jewish community and newspapers.

When you use shampoo, know where it came from. When you use a printer, when you use maths, when you use paper, when you use diamonds, most of them came from India fro centuries. The first university, Nalanda was in India. In ancient India, when invading other kingdoms, you weren’t allowed to harm civilians before Geneva convention. Women in ancient India had rights. Caste system was on merit not birth. But this changed due to islamic invasions, in 1000AD.

My late grandfather fought in North Africa, Italy and Northwest Europe as a front line tank soldier. He died in the mid 1980's. At the time of the Brexit referendum, on hearing that I intended to vote leave, my mother said 'your grandfather fought for a united Europe'. I chastised her and told her that she couldn't possibly know what his opinion would have been and that to put words in his mouth and attempt to elicit feelings of guilt in me by using his memory was disingenuous, given that he'd been dead for over thirty years. I voted with my conscience but her words stayed with me.
When I heard about this book, I bought a copy and have been gradually working my way through it and will say this, if my grandfather, a humble Christian working class man, would have supported Britain and Europe becoming the places that they have, with the dilution and erosion of values and culture, a federalisation of the continent under a dictatorial and faceless centralised bureaucracy, the abolition of borders and the resultant unfettered immigration and lawlessness, he would have stood out as an outlier among his comrades. When I finish reading the book, I may pass it on to my mother, although I doubt that she'll read it, preferring instead to live on in the happy delusions that comfort her and the millions of others of the privileged and selfish baby boomer generation who took the country that heroes had provided for them and through incompetence and arrogance, destroyed it for their successors.

One of the Beatles responded, "I bet you regret that now" (or something close to that)

"It is untrue that I or anyone else in Germany wanted war in 1939. It was wanted and provoked solely by international statesmen either of Jewish origin or working for Jewish interests. I have made too many offers for the limitation and control of armaments, which posterity will not be cowardly enough always to disregard, for responsibility for the outbreak of this war to be placed on me. Nor have I ever wished that, after the appalling First World War, there would ever be a second against either England or America. Centuries will go by, but from the ruins of our towns and monuments the hatred of those ultimately responsible will always grow anew against the people whom we have to thank for all this: international Jewry and its henchmen."

Hitlers testimony: Of course, political leaders always
prefer to conquer without war, but if this isn't possible because the other side doesn't give in, they start a war or simply occupy weak countries like the Baltic countries.
War was the tool against Poland and Finland in 1939, occupation in 1940 against the Baltic countries.
Hitler considered the Sovjetunion quite weak and no big deal for Germany, an object of colonization. He hoped, GB and the USA remained neutral, but if not, he would take the risk anyway.
Hitler mistook politics as a final dramatic battle, much like a Wagnerian opera with a lot of exaggerated, heroic statements as is the language of his book, of his speeches and his last testimonies.

On the other hands the allied destroyed everything that touched, Majestic cities like Budapest Vienna Dresden Cologne Munich and so on had been completely ruined. If the Germans didn’t make Florence and Rome open cities the allied would have raised them to the ground like they did to all other cities in Europe.

The British Museum was hit several times during the war, with the worst incident being in May 1941, when 240,000 books in the museum library were damaged or destroyed by fire and water damage. Also hit was a satellite collection in Colindale, which destroyed 6,000 volumes of English and Irish newspapers.[15]
The Palace of Westminster also suffered several hits during the war, with the most serious being on 10/11 May 1941. An incendiary bomb came through the roof, and firefighters had to decide whether to save the House of Commons chamber or the ancient Westminster Hall. They concentrated on the hall. While no-one was hurt, the chamber was unusable, and so for the rest of the war the House of Commons met in other locations such as the House of Lords Chamber, the Robing Room, or Church House near Westminster Abbey. The House of Commons was repaired in 1950.[79] The Abbey itself was also hit that night, with the bulk of the damage done to its surrounding buildings such as the Deanery and Westminster School Hall.[80]
Buckingham Palace was struck at least nine times during the war, with the most damage being caused on 13 September 1940. Winston Churchill and the Queen were inside at the time and saw two of the bombs falling outside their window. One of the bombs destroyed the palace's chapel, which was rebuilt as the Queen's Gallery. The heaviest-hit areas of London often tended to be where working-class people lived, as they were next to militarily useful targets like docks and factories, and in the aftermath of the Buckingham Palace bombing, the Queen said, "Now I can look the East End in the face."[81]

My grandad had a huge family and kept having kids until late in life. His youngest son, my father, was born in '45. Grandpa was born in 1896 which means he fought in WW ONE! Some of my folks were in WWII but most were not due to age. I revered them, honored them and still do. YOU should NEVER feel poorly for your granddad.... EVER! Do you understand me? I'm serious.... NEVER feel badly nor made to be remorseful for his sacrifice! While I respect my people for doing their duty, I am HORRIBLY conflicted because I've learned that what we were all taught as children about that war has turned out to be mostly FALSE, particularly the reasons for it starting in the first place. If anything, I feel terrible remorse for people like YOUR grandfather. IT hurts even more because now I know HE was right! It isn't my place to say so but I do wish I could apologize to all those souls... not on behalf of my own people but on behalf of humanity itself. We allowed SATAN himself to instigate that war and he vehemently lied about it and we blindly believed those lies came from the mouths of angels.

Now I don't disagree with your statement. Keep in mind the most right-wing person in France is actually Jew and he endorse Lapin and he wants to deport all 3rd world migrants off of Europe. How do I know this? He said it in live TV with no regrets. I don't remember his name, I think his name is Éric Zemmour.
