as a canadian born 20 yrs after the war it always mystified me how Churchill the great war leader lost the 1945 election - this documentary gave a better explanation than most others as to how that happened.
You failed at putting me to sleep… Documentary was too well done and too interesting!
So an not the only one who put a documentary so I can fall a sleep yaay
@@nessdzlou5685you are not alone.
Rightly said
Every free person in the world owes a debt of gratitude and our freedom itself in part to
Winston.
Tusentakk Sir!
Very well played indeed Sir!
"Yes i am my dear you are ugly but tomorrow I will be sober and you will still be ugly"-Wiston Churchill
I remember hearing that story. It makes me ☺ smile. He seemed like he had a good sense of humor. God knows we need that right now.
he had some awesome 1 liners
How WC lived so long (90s) given how much alcohol he drank, smoked, and did not exercise is an amazing story in itself.
I think that a million plus Indian troops and half a million animals are not given enough credit.
I don't care what any body say about church hill he was a hero leader to try to put the leader together to fight the war to win
Please proofread your post before you send it
Nobody's perfect but I love him still.
Same.
Exactly. He had some bad beliefs, even for the time, and some major mistakes in his career, but he was the perfect guy for WW2.
Sometimes when I don't feel very brave, I listen to his war-time speeches. They give me courage.
Legend - nobody's criticizing legends fall on deaf ears.
@blueshift9 in a free world, what makes a belief "bad"?
Winston....cheers big guy.🎉
I find it hilarious that the owners of this channel know the main audience😂
I was thinking the same thing when i saw the title
A truly great man, but flawed like most of us. Britain was indeed fortunate to have him in the war years.
"To fall asleep to" i felt that my boi😂
watched while sleeping .woke up second day rewound it where i last remembered i left till i finished .It has been soo eductaive
Brilliant documentary for a brilliant man, thank you.
Churchhill was an excellent statesman and a great Prime Minister of England. He was a true inspiration to the English people and even to the United States.
Awesome documentary of Church hill. RIP You helped save England from Germany. God Bless you for your service and dedication to your country! USA ally and fan. 🇺🇸
Good point. The question NOW however is who is going to save Great Britain and Germany from their globalist leaders...
I was a very young child when the great Winston Churchill died.
I was at my grandma and grandpa’s house (my mom’s parents)when his funeral was televised on their black and white TV.
My dad, a raging and often violent (when in his cups) narcissist, was there watching with the rest of the family.
It was the first time I can recall that he shut up completely and just watched the TV.
He had his demons, I would say, from serving in the Navy in the Pacific, so that was water under the bridge.
It was truly a marvel that he did not utter a word.
Respect!
He held the world together when it was supposed to be seperated and fought over.
I admire him for sure 🎉
As a politician, he was at least as well-respected as Cicero - as a general, but more successful than Caesar. As he himself stated, he was born and prepared by his biography for his unique task of saving Europe from ruin. One must admire him for that, but even more so the English nation, which supported him so unreservedly in two existential wars.
How fascinating that a quintessentially 19th Century man became the greatest man of the 20th Century.
Semper Fidelis...
Ole Churchill was one hellva good wordsmith, oratory and writing.
No surprise when he authored his book after World War Two he portrayed himself in the most favorable light.
"It's better to be a sexual predator than to be sexual prey" -Winston Churchill
He would know.

This is so good! Can't believe i hadn't seen this!

I'm glad we were on same page.
Yeah I bet you if you asked a million people who was the king of England during world war II and then ask them who was the prime Minister 99% would probably tell you who the prime Minister was and 0.001% would be able to tell you who the king was. How you could probably even do that same survey in England
I like history as a kid and during most of my childhood I thought that Winston Churchill was the ruler of England.
wrong caption. churchill made me pull an all nighter.
Remember a beautifully flawed human is the best human that is what GOD loves about us all
It’s quite surprising that the writer of the History of the English Speaking Peoples can be so unaware of the current political conditions around him. It’s obvious to his own family, but he is unwilling to believe it (because surely this cannot be just ignorance). When I reflect on this, it amazes me that he remains significant as a public political figure in some of the years yet to come.
All men are driven to tears.
Bravo
Wonderful documentary.
The dockworkers wanting to be paid to lower there cranes for the last journey of this great man, shows how ignorant people can be.
Still waiting on his personal memoir 😉💕🇺🇸
Yeah I also think the post world war II time would have been a lot different if Churchill would have stayed in office.
in what way?
I admire him and considering his even a hero.
FDR was US leader since 1932, Stalin Russian leader since 1924,not sure how Winston figured he was the senior leader at Tehran
1:42:32-- what's a "Juke" or was it supposed to be a duke?
Yeah me too 😊
Couldn't fall asleep 😢
No nonsense sort of a guy, a true patriot and will do anything, anything to be the leader he is expected to be. If Churchill was not there or any other soft hearted or some diplomatic English was the PM during the war... Then the world map you know would have been very different
Churchill was the best statesman of Engkand and washow the British eon against Germany eith the helpmof the United States 🇺🇸.
Gdth frrr th
2 hours of Winston Churchill Facts to Fall Asleep To! LOL Can't be that boring and never was! Of course anyone who doesn't know who he was or about WW2 might fall asleep....ZZZzzzzzzzz!!! smdh
A million British soldiers!!!
Yes he shaped the future 🎉
Nice video. But as a non- British viewer find the British accent of the lady historian difficult to understand. Can't the commentary be more accent - friendly for non Britishers to reach larger numbers of viewers; or please give sub titles. Most Indians will find the accent unintelligible.
.
Lol Germany declared war on the US not vice versa. First five minutes 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
SORRY Gallipoli was a good strategic move. The commanders failed because the concept of an amphibious and secure the beaches was not well understood. The Commanders failed to take the heights immediately upon landing and that cost them dearly. This same mistake was made also in ANZIO in WW 2 in the Italian campaign. The failure of Gallipoli prevented the allies from supplying Russia hence the eventual collapse of Russia and the Bolsheviks eventually taking over. So Gallipoli was worth trying!!!!!
History proves you wrong
@lylecampbell9036 in what way legitimately just asking
Freedom or death?
How can a person have 2h worth of facts about him?
Interesting 😎
"I'm jealous," Churchill said. Behind all that charm, a miserable leader.
My favorite hero after Jesus
Mohammad?
Is this Greg Davies narrating?
Thomas Deborah Hernandez Helen Garcia Edward
Music and sound effects are too loud to fall asleep. Bad title
subtitrati si in limba romana
Smith Patricia Thomas David Lee Michelle
U gotta be a little nasty to win in a world war. Leave him alone
White George Walker Kenneth Hernandez Scott
I bet when Churchill was first lord again everyone was like "really have everybody forgotten about Gallipoli right as well we lay flat in our backs and kill ourselves"
Humans are notorious for short memories. But honestly, you'd better be thankful. Otherwise, you'd be speaking German today (if you're European).
Lee Angela Lee John Martin Kimberly
Quite a few times Churchill was mentioned as an imperialist - how about a patriot?!
Complete imp
The lady historian saying churchill without the cigar and uniform is a undersized bald old man is crazy i guess thats her opinion but its wildly inaccurate hes extremely smart and a great leader orator among many other things tell me your political leanings without telling me your political leanings
i mean he lost the election in 45 so i wouldn't say he was that smart. he was not aware of everything then. after that it just went downhill.
i see wat ur saying but i think she was speaking more on jst his image in General how the cigar and uniform makes him so unique and gives tht imagine of the interesting strong leader and strong man tht he was.
Wow that speech was poor. It was overly scripted and obviously rehearsed is the wrong word cause obviously it was rehearsed and should have been but it felt again scripted is the wrong word how bout this it felt fake. U thought more of him before watching this tho. Typical glory hunting politician
Love to see the speeches you wrote, JK...😂. But to each their own.
Well, please do add what he thought about the Indians and how he treated them too
lol just about all european countries didn't care about them and were very racist. lol. weird part is some of the soldiers despite all of that was very loyal to the crown.
Why do people today feel like they've got to look at something that occurred over 80 years ago with today's morality??
@@SMichaelDeHart because they were still humans back then
@pablosilva5443 There is no utopia...stop lying to yourself. The human animal is the most evil thing on this earth!!
@@SMichaelDeHart then why do we only blame Germany and Japanese? Isn't it hypocritical
😂
gen-z today think we know it all, sitting on our high moral horses judging heroes of the past with today’s standards smh
Warmonger , Village Drunkard, War Criminal, Empire Destroyer, Racist
I can do better than that
What a great title! Nothing could be further from the tru...😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴
He was a lizard 😅
Maybe, but a lizard that could drink 😂
There is several copies of this already on TH-cam. So why upload another copy of the video. Unless it is stolen and exists only for clickbait and advertising revenue
you must be fun at parties lol
to fall asleep like the title says
There may be several copies of this on TH-cam, but this is the first time I've seen it, so why complain?
It did what it was intended to do, put the information out there. Now a new person, me, is watching this for the first time.
Your argument is moot, mate.
@toddmcclellan979 you should have seen it last week when it was uploaded. Before this account downloaded it as if they owned it
I think you'd be surprised how many channels are actually History hit owned, which is why so many will all have the same show.
