I met Stet back in the 1980s when he was playing with a band called Run 21. I knew he was destined for great things. Met him at a Run 21 gig one night and blew a joint with him. I'll never forget it. Wicked nice guy and cancer survivor. I have one of Frankie Banali's snare drums. A 1942 concert snare that's now my main snare. Proceeds went directly to the family. Very honored to have it.
My first concert in my life was in 1989 at the Austin Opera House. The headliner band was W.A.S.P., but the opening bands were Accept and Metal Church. It was the most memorable concert that I ever went to. These bands have always been relatable. I love them all!
Stet is a GREAT guy!! The Metal Church CD he talks about was delayed due to him coming down with Lymphoma around October 2017. He is now in remission and working on the new CD.

I am talking about the 80's when Stet was still starting out with a bunch of smaller bands. It is great just hearing your voice and listening to you talk about music. Stet is good people. I was honored enough to open for him as a drummer in a band called SAVAGE HEARTS 1996 in a little shithole club in mount airy N.C known at the time as "THE PALACE" When he was working with Rickey Medlocke and he is a truly a gentleman.
I love Metal Church and have never seen them live, back in 2018 a band asked me if I could fill in on bass for a stint of a tour they were gonna do opening for Metal Church, unfortunately it fell through. Wish it would've happened. Would've been awesome

Stet told me he worked with WASP 🐝 for over 17 years. He's the longest playing drummer 🥁 for WASP. Stet Howland is a frontman all by himself. I played with Stet many times. Every show, he took over. He stands up and walks around his kit 🥁, never missing a beat. He holds front and center stage at a table with drink bottles 🍾 filled at different levels.
