Funny thing. My son's psychiatrist recommended her book. When I have more time, I'll pick up a copy. In the meantime, I'm watching this video during my lunch breaks. My son has a very hard time making friends, staying out of trouble, has major issues of abuse and abandonment from a parent, and is constantly saying he feels worthless. I was a pretty accomplished soccer player and I wanted to share my joy with him. So what do I do? Make him touch the ball 1,000 times per day like I did, because that helped me. Long story short, he didn't want to play soccer, so I directed him towards guitar because he loves music so much. I told him he could quit after 100 days and he's never stopped playing. Here's the funny thing. He's playing soccer at recess every day and it's all he talks about. Once I stopped trying so hard to "help" him become a better soccer player, he's actually drawn to it the same way I was. I know as much about guitar as my dad did about soccer, and here he is playing it every day and getting better and better at something he really loves doing.

I love Dr Shefali Tsabary teachings. I think she is doing a great brave task in the awakening for better behavior in the world. Every moment of her speech is full of life and consciousness, not even one dull moment with her. I have followed several videos with her on them and she is the most interesting deep speech and conscious psychologist there is in history. Instead of labelling as traditional psychology has done for so much time she is really into the real meaning of analysis and she is really understanding the problems of human behavior. Being in the moment and letting go of expectations and respecting the other's space of life, identity and decisions are so important for world peace and she addresses it every time and I love to put her on my computer and sharing her philosophy because it is a really healing way of advice. I think she is a great living being, I admire her and I love to hear her speak with so much passion and awareness. Thank You Shefali Tsabary. EK

Thank you @Dr. Shefali. I am privilege to hear this message on 2022 my son 20 years now - had experience of these situations in this message and so myself the one doing specially the part of expectation of him and hurting the development of his spirit. I needed to hear this entirely because there is hope to succumb and lots of healing be mended. And lots of discovery looking in the mirror of within (myself). I'm grateful that you upload this message. I'm willing to take this call now -

The best form of parenting, according to her, is post modern parenting. The individual is authoritative on truth, and active parenting that does not foster that is considered problematic and results to parent/child strain. This is the language of someone trying to sell something.

You are an amazing speaker. The ideas you present to a different type of parenting has come to me years ago, I just was not ready, able and willing enough to really make the changes. I am raising my grandson and he has just turned 16. I am so willing now to make that connection and stop trying to control. Luckily, I am seeing a therapist helping me through it. Thanks so much for bringing this awareness back. Bless you!

This made me cry! It takes so much strength to admit something like that, so you should feel very proud of yourself for that alone!! I share custody of my twins with their paternal grandmother, and although this happened as a result of my financial difficulties (being evicted, losing my job, and also ALL of our belongings were stolen) and although i THOUGHT it was the best decision FOR THEM at the time, she is controlling to the point that it is downright abusive. I now have to take her to court to dissolve this guardianship just to be able to have my kids stay a night in my own home after working so hard for over a year to buy them all new things little by little with my tiny checks each week! To make it worse, they have speech difficulties since they were premature, and it's very hard for them to communicate these things to me, ESPECIALLY with her around all the time, making them stutter from being nervous. I should have known what her intentions were when she was unwilling to offer support financially and emotionally, without having a judge to oversee it. I should have asked for government assistance for a month or two, because after months of MY attempts to get them approved for social security, it was approved once they had moved in with her! And while she has all the money she needs and then some, I have also had to save up the money for court fees just to file a petition, without a lawyer accompanying me to court. I'm terrified of the lies she may come up with to try and keep the judge from deciding in our favor, they aren't old enough to decide for themselves according to law.
Anyhow, I just wanted you to know that it's never too late, I would give ANYTHING to have her even attempt to cooperate with me to give them the support they need to be happy and confident boys, to be loved and love themselves, to be themselves, so Pat yourself on the back!!!!!!

By realizing where the pain is coming from(i.e.:'if the mom didn't give u mutch affection'), than conscientiously you are going to change your behavior with people around you....you may also come to a point where you can forgive(yourself and parents) and maybe decide not to be the slave of your fear. Ommm, Love and all the best br br

I down vote this not because I don't think what she says is right. No, she knows her subject and she has grasped the truth of the matter in many ways but there is a negativity and judgemental tone in her speech that that leads me to think that she is divorced from the ideals she promulgates.
There is a lack in integrity in her voice, this could be my imagination but the subliminal messages being put out fill my heart with pain not hope. Please stop putting people down, isn't that the message that is supposed to be given?
