The 1981 race was won by Dick Johnson who should have won the year before but some moron threw a rock on the track. He was a lap ahead of everyone except for Bob Morris who was also in a Falcon. The outcome was a travesty of justice

Reality check - we Queenslanders DO NOT have a hivemind. As many of us were supporting HOLDEN as supporting a guy just because he's from this state.
So how much of the race did the stupid block ruin? I know the 1981 race didn't go the full distance.
You mean the rock in 1980? As far as I remember, the pileup in 1981 was the first Bathurst 1000 to end before its scheduled number of laps.
The tv camera around Quarry Corner \ Reid Park has a terrible picture same as it was in 1980. Channel 7 ..... Do better.
