Diwali or authentically deepawali is a festival of lights which is celebrated as a sign of victory of good over evil ..on deepawali our lord ram came back to ayodhya(place in uttar pradesh, india) after a 14 yr long exile.. everyone in their kingdom was so happy that they light up diyas(its like candles) and wore new clothes..so till now deepawali is celebrated on 15th day of kartik month(month in hindu calendar) actually hindu calendar is different from gregorian calendar so dates of deepwali varies in gregorian calendar but is same in hindu calendar vikram samvat..on this day people wear new clothes, worship lord ganesh and goddess lakshmi , burst crackers, eat lots of sweets , meet everyone and wish them shubh deepwali(happy diwali in english) so thats the basic which u must know
Actually the swastik and swastika are both based on the concept of infinity. In Hindu/Buddhist culture it signifies the infinity of the cycle of life and rebirth. In Nazi Germany they took the symbol to represent their goal of creating an infinite Reich of German purity that would outlast the test of time.
To add more info in your comment for them to refer, i don’t know if they took it from Hinduism. Don’t remember any record where such a thing was mentioned but what the Germans used is called Hakenkreuz (Hooked Cross) which is a derivation or different type of the Cross. They are completely different and are drawn in opposite ways. Swastika is over 1000+ years old but the Nazi symbol (Hakenkreuz) is not that old (assuming). But it does not predate Swastika.

No. That is not the case. What you say does happen but not in India. During "DEEPAVALI", in Sri Lanka and Singapore that is the custom to eat Non- veg. or maybe some..very few who do not care for any festivals may eat non- veg. But that is common all over India. 5:43 there is a Diwali song by the Legend Lata Mangeshkar that says 'jis dware pe ghar ki bahu rangoli sajati hai, uss dware ke ghar ke andar Lakshmi aati hai.' Translated basically it says that the houses entrance where al daughter in law decorates Rangoli is a house where Lakshmi enters. Goddess Lakshmi is our goddess of Wealth and Prosperity and is one of the pre-eminent Gods who is celebrated during Diwali. The Daughter in Law when marrying into a household is said to be a representation of Lakshmi entering the house as we hold the bonds of marriage sacred and a good woman marrying into a family is said to bring wealth and prosperity to the family. Hence why it's the daughter in laws role to draw the Rangoli in front of the house. Although we allow the young children of the house to also draw Rangoli.
There was a foreign vlogger who tried his hand at bursting cracker and ended up losing a finger. Got him a lot of views and fame though. 😂 Also you are not supposed to fire rockets horizontally, it can end up blinding someone and you can end up in jail. Its the other sparklers or similar stuff than gets thrown around among friends and its usually pretty harmless. Bursting crackers and firing up rockets can be dangerous, but then that is half the fun. I don't think anybody would exchange it for safety and a dull festival. at least not in India.

Great Diwali experience! I haven't had this kinda experience in years. "Ohh That Symbol..." great you noticed that. That symbol is a Hindu symbol called the Swastika. It's a Sanskrit word. And yes, Nazi Europeans stole it from right there only and Hitler used it as his own. You know what else they stole from Hindus? - the word Arya/ Aryan. Those are also Sanskrit words! Traditionally, since very ancient times in the unknown antiquity (8/10/15,000 years or more?( Hindus called themselves Arya or Arya Sanatana Dharma ( aka around the world now as Hinduism). Arya, also a Sanskrit word. # Interested to know what is the real meaning of these? #1) Swastika means a symbol of "well-being of the whole world"! The words/ prayers related to this are called Swasti or Swasti Vachana, which means "Prayers for the well-being of the whole world". There are quite a few Swasti Prayers that Hindus do. , These are especially a part of daily routines of traditional Brahmins! One Swasti Vachana for example is "Sarvey bhawantu sukhinah...", which goes like "May all beings in the world be happy, may all be healthy, may all live with peace and love etc..."! (American singer Tina Turner has sung this in Sanskrit beautifully, check that out!) # So, like there is a modern hand symbol for love (the heart), this ancient and still in use symbol - the Swastika, is for Happiness, love, & peace, & harmony of the whole world. Hindus draw these during the festivals, Auspicious occasions, during their rituals & worships (wishing well-being for the whole world)! If you see a Swastika, you've just been blessed and the whole world too! #2) Arya or Aryan, what is that? The major difference between the Hindu religion & others is that the centre of other religions is some God, in Hinduism it's the Self. Purity of the heart, goodness of character, words and actions, and their whole life. Not "conquering & colonising India (or anywhere) for Christ or for Jihad but conquering oneself, is the goal and the mission of life. "Arya/Aryan" means those who strive for the goodness of character or purity of the heart, i,e, those who follow, have faith in this ideology. While the Missionary-Supremacists changed/confused that to mean a particular race, the Nazi supremacists used that to mean their race!!! Nothing about the goodness of character!!! (NB: Apart from the outrageous & heinous human crimes that European Colonialist Missionaries committed against India was maligning India and Hindus so that they could bash, denigrate & convert them, this theft and abuse of Swastika & Aryan being among the smallest ones)!
