The most boggling is Jennifer Hudson, she came in seventh in the 3rd season! Went on to be an oscar winning movie star and daytime talk show host. Winning isn't everything.

I can't hit a lick on a guitar but when I watch vids of him I put it on theater screen mode and am in total awe with what he is doing on those strings to achieve his unique sound. Just genius IMO. Alejandro is one of THE most talented American Idol singers ever. His version of I Fall Apart (Post Malone) was so impressive. Guitar, piano, original songs. I loved him and wished he would have won. Humble and sweet guy.
Alejandro's audition makes me tear up every time because he is so selfless and talented and has NO idea that he is as amazing as he is in this moment. Just a humble guy with an immense amount of dedication and talent.

I remember Brian May (Queen) saying he called up Roger Taylor and asked him if he had heard Adam Lambert singing on Idol and that he thought they could have their new singer. What an honor. And Adam is still with them in 2023.
I loved him also. He is gay and so was one other singer I loved on AGT that didn't win and should have. People can't get past the gay to the person and how great the are as a person and singer. I'm not into gay people but when I judge them it's for who they are as a person and their talent. Adam Lambert is such a sweet person and he showed them being in concerts with queen.

The sheer amount of musicality and talent packed into Alejandro Aranda is kind of unbelievable, and to be as humble as he is on top of all of that, just an incredible human being.
As far as Chris Daughtry, this is one of the few times where Simon was 100% off-base. He could have deprived us of one of the most amazing voices (and raw charisma) in rock today.

Chris’s audition was terrible. Simon was right about his performance, but it was obvious his voice was unique. Simon took more chances with people in later seasons if they had something unusual in their voice.
Chris Daughtry was in a Christian band called absent element and it was based here in NC. I saw him, and met him before he became famous. Really cool dude.

But it's actually best that he didn't win, because then he would have been locked into the god-awful, limiting, contract that Idol confines them in, with them choosing the cookie cutter songs he's allowed to release. I do believe that had he won, he never would've gotten the Queen gig, and that would have been a tragedy. Nobody could replace Freddie, but Adam is the best voice to keep Freddie's legacy alive, and Queen touring. As for this video, it was interesting to see some of these auditions again (I haven't always watched Idol every year), but the one that gave me chills for the second time was Alejandro.

Alejandro’s audition is still the most memorable in Idols 22 year history. Seeing the judges faces as they hear a musical genius was so fun to watch.

Roger and the rest of Queen were so impressed with the performance that they contacted American Idol directly regarding Adam Lambert.
The band asked to be on the show to perform with him, seeing it as a unique opportunity to see if the young singer would gel with the rest of Queen.
Roger continued: “We got in touch, and we were then asked to do the finale of Idol, which we flew over to do with the two finalists and we just got on magically with Adam.”

I don't think he has the best voice out of all of them but I do think he is clearly the most talented. He killed the guitar and he is also good on the piano with a very solid voice and a different kind of voice so yeah I would say he's the most talented

Chris Medina, what an amazing person. The story of him and his woman. Not so much his singing, but the fact that he’s a real man and stuck by his woman through sickness and through brain injury. Much respect. Brought a tear to my eye. Still good people out there.

Chris Daughtry is my all time favourite artist... Just LOVE him and his band and the fact that Simon said no just proves that he also gets it wrong sometimes... Wish I could see Chris and his band live because I missed them when they came to South Africa. Hope they come back again

Chris’s audition was terrible. Simon was right about his performance, but it was obvious his voice was unique. Simon took more chances with people in later seasons if they had something unusual in their voice.
Chris Daughtry was in a Christian band called absent element and it was based here in NC. I saw him, and met him before he became famous. Really cool dude.

WOW, Adam Lambert has one hell of a voice! He’s one of the BEST singers in American Idol history! I still don’t know how he didn’t win this show?
I second that! But it's actually best that he didn't win, because then he would have been locked into the god-awful, limiting, contract that Idol confines them in, with them choosing the cookie cutter songs he's allowed to release. I do believe that had he won, he never would've gotten the Queen gig, and that would have been a tragedy. Nobody could replace Freddie, but Adam is the best voice to keep Freddie's legacy alive, and Queen touring. As for this video, it was interesting to see some of these auditions again (I haven't always watched Idol every year), but the one that gave me chills for the second time was Alejandro.
