I played this game back in the day from 2000 to about 2003... the LAN party golden age... then life happened and I eased up on games to go and do other things.... Just randomly started looking into it again a few months ago and could hardly believe the size of the community this thing has. It's truly one of the greatest video games ever made, period.
Yeah, the second life for this game is pretty awesome. Never thought I'd be playing this again in my 30's.

This game was a clusterfuck for Vipey to try and mop up, and he did really well. But the amount of raids on your teams trade route with zero walling from anyone is ludicrous man. I get that viper was far too busy dealing with the opponents and making up for the stinker of a game his team was having, but Yo was nearly down and out halfway through. Walls would have been a really cost effective way to meaningfully contribute to the team when he was recovering his abused economy. Those cavalary were damn near encouraged to have their way with your trade.
where would he put up the walls? enemies would've scouted the wall and killed the builders.
Yo is sooo good at weird strats & micro but like over and over he just makes werid small mistakes like that

Your audio overall is always very low. Whenever I watch your videos I have to increase the volume on my computer which is always very frustrating when the video ends and I go watch something else but forget to lower the audio. It doesn't seem like speaking closer to the mic is the solution, I believe your master audio capturing program is fairly low. Would be nice to look into it.

Usually VODs from streams are quiet for me as well. Streamers tend to have the volume lower, it seems, than conventionally produced YT videos.

A friend of mine wants to join in on aoe2.
Me and all of my friends still use the hd edition, and from what i understand the definitive edition includes all previous dlc's and the hd edition.
So i'm wondering, does that mean that it includes all dlc's for both versions, or just that they have been integrated into the definitive edition?
It's all integrated.
If you buy the package on steam which include aoe2 hd and aoe2 DE you will not get dlc for aoe2 hd, but everything will be in DE so the only reason you would want to play HD is if you have friends that refuse to get the new game.

Most of my friends have computers that aren't suited for gaming, so we all use hd edition to be able to play together
I'm not sure I understand your question but in 1 sentence : DE regroups all previous civs and official campaigns (HD + DLCs) + new civs and campaigns.
Then you can add mods like in HD/Voobly if you wish.
If your friend buy DE, he will have everything in the world.

why i seldom see people wall up their trade route? like just using the wood wall and wood gate to wall to zone out the opponent
wood walls would Just disappear VS castle or imp army, only stonewalls can help

Does anyone knows how to hide rivals civilization on the lobby..?? I saw several Vipers games where he doesnt see other players civs.. He just sees a (???). How can I do that?
When making the lobby put the tick on hide civ (next to allow spectator)

I don’t get it. It’s as if some form of psychological counter impulse doesn’t allow you to wall. Why don’t people grab one vill, make a long fucking stone wall, and their trade is generally safer throughout the game. If they’re too busy, tell the shittier team mate to do it. Might just be the noob in me talking but at least wall most of it
