GREAT video! Thanks! As a bonus, I would add that when you chose the "Publish to Web" option, before you click "Publish", go to "Published content & settings" drop down list and click "Automatically republish when changes are made" if desired.
Thanks for your great content. Im new to sheets. I have created a pricing calculator for HVAC equipment. Its simply calculates the subtotal, taxes and final total for the entered equipment pricing. I would like to share this, not as a shared document, but as individual, stand alone calculators for anyone who has a copy. They should be able to manipulate the fillable cells without affecting anyone else's copy. Is this possible?
To achieve this, everyone has to copy your document. You can share it with them with "Viewing permissions" and then tell them to make a copy of that document.
Hi, thanks for making this tutorial. I have a question about sharing a google file on a FB group. If I add the web link, can I unshare it later? If so, how can I unshare a web link? Does this make sense? Thanks again for your time and attention.
To share a file with lots of people, like a FB group, you have to choose "Anyone with the link". So anyone who klick on the link has access to the file. Obviously, you're sharing with literally anyone on the internet and not only the FB group. To unshare you change the settings back to "Restricted".
I have a question: if I have once shared an important file with someone, but not do not want them to be able to see this google sheet any more, what must I do? I have removed the person from the sheet, but if the person still has the web-address, he/she can still browse to this URL and see what is happening in the sheet, correct? Thanks in advance!!
No, luckily it doesn't work that way. If you un-share a file with someone and they try to access it through the link you shared with them, they WON'T have access to the file anymore. Instead they will see a screen letting them know they don't have access and can request it from the file owner. You will receive an email notification and can then choose to share the file again or ignore the request.
I would like to know if there is a way when sharing a google spreadsheet that person 1 sets some filters, how can person 2 still see the entire spreadsheet without having person 1's filter impact what person is viewing. Is this possible? How is that accomplished?
@@saperis Thank you for your very kind assistance. This is very helpful. One last question is: Can I hide columns in a shared spreadsheet and not impact others sharing the same spreadsheet?

How can I resolve a "Can't share" error? The email I want to share with is a Google account. If I try sharing by updating "General access" to "Anyone with the link" and paste the link in my email, an error pops up "This person won't have access to "". This person can't access the file because of its sharing permissions"...the sharing permissions are General Access to Anyone :-(
Hi maybe mine is a beginner question , How do i send a google sheet to, say 10 people at once individually with their email addresses, but not make their edits affect each others' google sheet?
Well, you would have to make each person a "viewer" of your original file and then tell them to make their own copy. But then everybody has their individual copy. Or you all are "editor" on the original copy. But that means everyone can edit everything. The type of sharing you want isn't available for Google Sheets.
Hi! I love your videos. They’re very helpful and clear. My only criticism is that the videos I have watched so far have variable sound. Your voice is too soft and music too loud. Not sure if you e fixed that. But just thought I’d mention it. I don’t want anything to take away from your great content
@@saperis Hmm I just watched the video tutorial for screenflow and found it's sound was just ok as well. It might be worth your while to investigate further. What Microphone you use, and also if you can audio balance in the program> I dont use that one so I'm not sure. I use iMovie or Adobe premiere but Premiere is only for bigger projects. Its a couple of things - one the balance between the music background and when you're just speaking and also you naturally speak softly so you need a more sensitive microphone to pcik it up. A lapel mike or even a desktop one is good - they come pretty cheap these days. Good luck anyway - I love your stuff - keep putting it out there

Yep, that's an important thing to be able to identify in a document.

The other editors of the Google Sheet file can run the code themselves. They have access to any Apps Script you have added to the file.

Yes, that is possible. You use the filter view feature for this: support.google.com/docs/answer/3540681?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop

Nothing. That's simply not possible. If you make 5 people editors on the same document, they will inevitably see who has access.
