    Hi Jeff ! I'm in Philadelphia and I have some strange seedlings popping up in my garden. The first two leaves resemble a brassica seedling but then it goes straight up with every leaf looking like an olive leaf. Any idea what it might be ? 🤔 I'm stumped. I'm letting a couple grow to see what they turn into.

    I sometimes buy hanging strawberry plants which come in basket holding a group of strawberries to make it look better. Would it be best to separate them in the spring into their own individual pots?

    I have an old bed of strawberries that I heavily mulch in the fall to let just hopefully the strongest ones to come up in the spring. It’s probably 12 years old now. Once a plant stops producing and stops making runners can it come back into production by digging up and making sure it’s just one plant and not on a runner? Or do they simply have a lifespan?

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michelle, I divide the older plants around year 5 and the living crown sections seem to keep going just fine. Its actually the easiest way to propagate the plant! 🙂

    We use to plant the seeds and harvest them the same year. Is there a difference in the beet seed variety or can all beets be harvested the second year?

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Theresa, no, its the opposite. You did it right. Beet seeds are planted and the bulbous roots are harvested in the SAME year. Being a biennial, the beets will then go ahead and flower the next year. Sometimes beets and other biennials will "bolt" due to environmental influence, in which case you can also get seeds in the same calendar year.
