    Mannn you are a legend. So simple, yet effective. Couldn’t wrap (no pun intended) my head around how to make the double-band for the bench without one of those pins, but the way you did it made me realise how easy it actually is haha. 😂
    Anyways keep up the great work this was a gamechanger, take care 💪🏼

    Great video. For some reason I thought the actual bands were not the same as the "stretch" bands, I thought they were thinner and maybe longer. Great to see all the variations. Keep it up!!!

    This is really useful. I have been using bands for a couple of months but not been setting them up right and using too thick a band and them being too slack. I need thinner bands so I can get less slack and a smoother resistance throughout. Still seen results but I know it could be better! Lol thanks for the great advice. Atb. Tom.

  • @Pibodabo

    Do you think it's safe to try a double mini band for squats for someone with a 300-400lb squat? Both for speed and max effort?
    Edit: I have already tried it and it works as long as you can maintain bar speed and it still feels like speed work.

    What percentage of the lift should the bands be? How do you know what "weight" of bands to get?

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't really go off a percentage of weight, plus obviously the resistance in the bottom of the lift and top will be different (plus it will be different by lift).
      You'll be using fairly tiny bands, so if you're looking at Rogue or a similar company, the smaller ones will likely be used (these are also the cheapest). Play around with it, though.

    Also is there any benefit in using bands with lighter weight for strength or just life heavier weight for strength?

    great video!! one question. if the rack is not bolted in what types of band while doing a squat or deadlift could potentially move the rack, or how much rack weight would help to keep it from moving? I am sure that is a subjected question. I have the bigger bands from Serious Steel and Elite FTS and pairs from Clench Fitness, undersun, and x3. i do have about 300lb in sandbags that maybe I could lay on top of the rack?

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds the sand bags are enough weight. Definitely try it out timidly first to see if that IS enough weight.

  • @phichau90
    @phichau90 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I got a question. some ppl put the resistant band at the put of the squat rack when squatting. doesn't that put less resistance on the exercise or is does it make it easier for the lifter to life the weight? and whats the benefits when putting at the top? thanks for the vids on bands.

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you meant "top" of the squat rack.
      That is a reverse banded squat. It does deload the bottom portion a bit, but less so at the top. You'd have to adjust the weight.

  • @williambardjr.5966
    @williambardjr.5966 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Question: If I add resistance bands to weights while working out using 2 of the same gauge resistance bands does that in effect double the resistance band tension? For example, if I am bench pressing with a weight of 135 and I add one resistance (with a resistance of 15-35 pounds depending of the tension put on the band through out the movement ) on each side of the apparatus, will it add between 30 and 70 pounds to the 135 pounds? Thanks!

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good questions! Yes, if you know the precise tension of the band on one side of the bench, you would double it and that will give you the total added resistance.

    Does doubling the bands double the resistance added.. Ie, red bands are supposed to add 30 lbs to the top, would they now add 60 or is not directly proportional

    Can you utilize accommodated resistance for hypertrophy? Or is this a tool mainly for strength and maximal contractile velocity

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Can be used for either. Going to stress to a greater degree the muscle or muscles that work to finish the movement (triceps more than pecs on bench; glutes more on the squat, etc.).

    I have a problem with resistand bands. I like the idea, but even if you use the same Brad and color band, being ad elastic material, the resistand is gonna be uneven in both sides.
    I check it with a dinamomeric scale, and for example using a red elastic band, both bought at the same time, and I have extra 12kg on the pick of my squat i one side and 10,5kg on the other.
    We buy really expensive weights to weight exactly as is written on the plate to avoid working uneven and then we use bands to make uneven all the workout.

    • @BarbellLogic
      @BarbellLogic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You're right. Unless you get the most expensive plates out there, however, the plates are also going to not weight the exact same. You may also have body limb length discrepancies. I think the best thing to do is not worry about small discrepancies like this--unless there's some pain or noticeable issues from using them.
      Thanks for the comment.

    • @TheGluteSpecialist
      @TheGluteSpecialist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they help you get stronger faster. With a resistant band you have a lot more tension then if you were just moving weight. For example when you curl, most of the work “tension” is towards the middle of the exercise. Now if you curl with a resistant band the tension is present through the whole workout. Plus they are great for not being able to hit the gym and doing a home workout. 💪
