Hi Jerry and Linda! We live back in the woods in Georgia. We have a Jackery power station which can be charged by solar panels also which came with the Jackery. Great peace of mind. So quiet! Can help with refrigeration, freezer, internet, phones, ipads. We use to use a big gas generator with extension cords through the windows. What a difference! Great video! ❤❤
Just used one of our Jackerys last night during a 9 hour power outage… Unfortunately at 500 W it does not charge the refrigerator… And honestly who can move a whole fridge, unplug it and plug it into a battery power bank… Not easy. When will they learn to relocate the fridge cords & outlets ?
We decided before moving to Florida that we would have a whole house automatic starting natural gas electric generator. After moving to Florida one month, we ordered the generator installation. It took 9 months to get the generator installed because of the backlogs at the time. We have been in Florida four years. Before the generator was installed, we were lucky and had no power outages. We’ve had over a dozen small power outages for several minutes, that were not storm related, and the generator automatically starts in 30 seconds. We’ve had a few power outages from 30 minutes to 4 hours that were not storm related. We’ve had two long power outages from hurricane Ian for 29 hours and hurricane Milton for 41 hours. The generator is 24 kilowatts and powers everything in the house, including the two heat pump air conditioning. There’s is no interaction required because it automatically starts and automatically switches the power from utility power to generator power. No hassles running power cords around the house and only powering limited things. We have several UPS units to cover the 30 second power loss on the Internet devices and some other devices in the house. The cost to run the generator for 41 hours was a natural gas bill that was $60 higher than normal. The main downside was the $13,500 installation cost and about $500 a year preventative maintenance costs. When the generator runs for more than 24 hours, you’re supposed to stop the generator and check the oil every 24 hours as a precaution. The oil level was normal, although I had spare oil on hand just in case it needed oil. It makes about the same noise running that a lawn mower makes. The liquid cooled generators are much quieter, with the noise level of a car running, but they are double the cost. Liquid cooled generators are normally used for larger commercial applications. We can hear the generator running outside the house or near the generator on that side of the house. But we can’t hear the generator running in the opposite side of the house. The generator can save you hundreds of dollars in spoiled food costs for long power outages. It’s miserable living without power in the dark without AC, and the generator solves those problems. It’s comforting to know when there’s a power outage, we will have power. Our overall opinion is installing the whole house automatic starting natural gas electric generator was worth the cost.
Thanks for these comments about the power station. I have thought about a generator, but that just seems like overkill. We have the occasional power outage, but not an extended one since hurricane Sandy - that's like 20 years ago. More interested in something to get us through the typical outage, and this sounds perfect.
GREAT job and GREAT video ... as usual, Linda and Jerry ! THANKS ! Those power stations are great for coffee in the morning, also, to get your day started, too. Really need that in a storm/hurricane !! For example, a "Mr. Coffee" 5 cup coffee maker needs 800 watts. So this unit would have more than enough watts. And it only uses about 5 % of your battery life !
That thiing is great to keep a regrigerator running during a power outage. I have an Ecoflow whole house battery which we used during Milton. I only had to charge it once a day with my generator for an hour or two. My neighbor has a portable unit like you have here and he would bring it over and plug it into my generator once a day to recharge at the same time I was recharging the house batteries. He kept his refrigerator cold for our 3 day outage while I was able to keep my whole house running.
The Power Station should run everything in your house except the air conditioner and water heater. The most important thing is the refrigerator. My experience in The Villages is everything is well-engineered. Life is good, life is very good in The Villages.
It looks like a very nice and capable unit. We had inherited 2 brand new 3600 watt units last year for free. A friend found out we had them and talked us into selling them to him for his off the grid cabin. The money was nice but I’ve regretted the decision to sell them ever since. Each one of those units was over $2000.
Thanks for the video! I have a generator (similar to the one you showed) I used during the last hurricane since my power was out for 5 days. It kept my phone, iwatch, and iPad going the whole time. I use battery-powered lanterns and headlights for power outages and a butane-powered stove for cooking. I've gotten used to 4-7 day power outages and can do them easily.
I have a bluetti that can be charged with your wall outlet or with solar panels. Won't run the refrigerator, but it will run a laptop, lights, charge cell phones and power small appliances, fans. Good to have and safe way to keep energy for when you need it 😀👍
I planned to buy a generator as soon as I moved to TV but I talked to the builder about it and he didn’t recommend it. Said TV rarely loses power. This looks like it would be easy to operate and ideally for a single lady like me. I also love the solar panel idea. Maybe a good birthday present for myself.
We have a natural gas generator as well the cost was high but it gives one apiece of mind for sure there is a cost for upkeep though my cousin has one in Amelia island but his is fueled by propane .. great show I tried to talk the hubby into two Jackery’s but he wanted the generator instead ..
GM Jerry & Linda. Happy Saturday. Oh it stores power? Oh yes. C-Paps. And your fridge so food doesn’t spoil. Look at that. USB for phones etc. Guess one could have 2 of these. 1 for the fridge and the other for whatever else. Never heard of this. Thanks for sharing 🤗. Have a great weekend.
Cool video and product. Here in South Lafayette Louisiana I recently had a whole house 26KW Briggs and Stratton Natural Gas Generator Installed in September. It runs automatically when power goes out and exercises itself once a week. My cousins here in South Louisiana suggested Briggs and Stratton over Generac or Kohler. I moved from Maryland to South Lafayette Parish in March and work remotely from home. Needed this for my job and refrigerators freezers cpap HVAC and more. Hopefully at tax time can write off some of it 👍😎👍
Ill stick with my 9500 watt Generator, dual fuel, runs the freezer, fridge,, and all my electronics, power stations are ok, but in a storm, how do you recharge? no sun, no solar.
Jerry and Linda we took a tour of the villages this past Wednesday and were really impressed. We were in the Brownwood area and it looked nice. Which area is considered the best to purchase a home that is closest to most activities and a grocery store. We plan on going back in April for a lifestyle visit.
That is a hard question to answer. They all have their benefits, and very few downsides. I think basically the newer the area the less developed it will be. Eventually they all catch up.
Dear Jerry and Linda please look up unbiased reviews of this product. Comes from China and by giving you a free one they get free advertising. I'm not sure how good these are. Check battery life ect. Maybe ok for camping but not much else. Make sure to check for battery safety. Take care❤
Thank you for sharing this informative video Jerry and Linda! That would be so handy to have! Have a great weekend! Early Happy Thanksgiving from the Heartland! Mark in Iowa.
Hello Jerry and Linda, Thanks for all the wonderful information on the power unit its definitely something to think about. Does it come with a solar panel? Hope you both have a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
How about your deep freeze? Remember when you came home and found the power was off to yours? At that price, I would invest in a back up generator or a stand alone one to run off natural gas or propane. That unit seems pretty pricey to me. What are Peter Bernards thoughts?
It depends on the size of your freezer. The more full the freeze of the longer it will power it. In any event, I don't think it would power it as long as we would like it to.
This was so helpful hearing about this from your perspective. However, I was SHOCKED to hear that you are an HOURS drive yo Costco. Does the company understand what a missed opportunity that is?!?! I’m in NE Florida-❤️☺️
Your channel has really changed over the years to being one of commercialization and just needing to turn out videos. Guess you lost me as a subscriber. Soon you will be setting up a patreon division. Goodbye.

How long will a freezer run?
But I switch to the gators, I really need that sunshine 😅
