I hope you enjoy this first installment using the brand new footage! Are there any other adventuring locations to which you would like to take your party (or even just learn more about)?
Thank you for all your support in making these videos possible. It's wonderfully gratifying to be able to create lore for myself and for you all on my own terms. patreon.com/EdGreenwood

Mr. Greenwood, would the dales (or other allied nations) ever consider making an effort to purge Daggerdale of all the Zent elements and humanoid monster bands as well as get their government straitened out so the other dales can rest a bit easier. I remember that both old El and the Blackstaff both gave a hand in do just that with Morn before. Why no again?

My first goblin PC chose Daggerdale to make his home, instead of the more polite and civilized Shadowdale in a game more than 30 years ago. The reason he chose Daggerdale was because he was a fighter/thief with a serious dislike of slavers, so it gave him many a successful hunt among the orcs, hobgoblins and Zhents.
His home was in an abandoned fortified farm that he found and rebuilt. Digging multiple tunnels and chambers in which to grow mushrooms and keep semi-domesticated rats would keep him fed between his raids on orcs, hobgoblins and zhents. The overgrown fields outside of the earthen ramparts displayed the heads he took as trophies from his hunts on poles as a warning. Next to the gate was a sign that said “no orcs, no hobs, no zhents” in bright red paint that the other PCs got for me. On the other side of the gate was a sign that said “traders welcome, trespassers will be eaten”.
That was a fun character to play. The other players loved it the first time I said “waste not, want not” as I told the DM I was carving a steak out of a fallen zhent body to take with me. They even bought me a couple Flat Boxes from the Tome of Magic to use for storing meats, which let me add pigs to my farm. The unharvested wheat growing wild around the farm let me keep a few ponies too, so I could ride to get help if I saw an army on the move.
    I miss campaigns like that.

I love getting more details on the "darker" parts of setting, Ed, so thank you! They seem like much more interesting places to center a campaign. To that end, I've always thought Westgate never got the attention it deserved. It always sounded like a proper "hive of scum and villainy", but I don't think I've ever seen more than the briefest of descriptions of it.

For the past 7 years I have sworn to use Forgotten Realms as the setting for my D&D campaigns, I expand on my knowledge of FR and its timeline, also been listening to audio books, recently been on youtube to learn more, I plan to re-make the sword coast map but I want to make it as it would have been the year 400DR(Pre Waterdeep time) I know that the land around waterdeep was owned by elves and I want to play that out, is there a source; magazine , video, audiobook, or anything really that would be good for pre-waterdeep elven rule of that area?
