I think we can be more charitable than "stumbled on" given the kind of liberal reading Arin does in his free time; they're keeping things dumb and lighthearted because that's the show, but rest assured that they're picking up on the ideology the game is laying down; everything is political, but being flip and sarcastic about the heavy themes in a game to disarm and put the audience at ease is part of the job. Didnt expect this one to come back, ain't exactly the kind of game where they can talk a lot and not be focused.
But glad it did
It *isnt* that type of game, but they did do it anyway
Watching Arin and Dan go through this after watching Jack's playthrough years ago is giving me nostalgia in all the right places.
Also, I can't help but refer to the guy with the hand-drawn passports as "Potato Man" complete with Jack's accent. I can't be the only one.
He’s Potato Man to me too.
Mr. Potato Man, you were always my favorite
13:08 Dan: “How do you make money in this game?”
Arin: I DON’T KNOW
Most grump energy ever😂😂
Yeah I feel like it wouldn't hurt them to look it up and just find out that it depends on how many people you let in.. there's really no spoiling in that lol
Something about Arin still letting a guy in who clearly had the wrong name on his passport and then surprised about the penalty. Classic Game Grumps. Love this channel so much. 😂😂
“How do I make money in this game !”
Be quicker. Be better.
Glory to Arstotzka !
lol the game is basically saying Get Good Scrub
32:05
“Things are going to be great for you here!”
Literally explodes a few seconds later
Amazing timing
I absolutely adore how dad keeps correcting Arin when he mispronounces Arstoska, and Arin just does not care
The dude who consistently comes with better documents/forgeries? and is always nice about it is a legend.
I am still astonished by this game and how efficiently it communicates its ideas about bureaucracy.
Just doing your best and your whole family dying as a result of your negligence is just so relatable. No wonder the fans want more.
"What if you just don't let anybody in?"
"I dunno, the economy will be in shambles?"
Arin and Dan literally stumbled on a huge reason immigration is actually important in a very real and meaningful way without even trying to be political or ideological
Despite the character he portrays as a grump, real life Hanson the CEO is pretty dang smart!
@@ShadowXeneth Yeah, I don't know how "saying what would happen in an off-handed manner" equates to "they stumbled into ideology". They obviously chose to say those words, so they have some idea.
They’re just entertainers. That’s literally all they do. That or relax and enjoy life. I wouldn’t give them too much credit. Not saying they aren’t smart.. just.. yeah..
To be fair, if your country has a good birthrate, adding more immigrants can actually cause problems for the country due to overpopulation.
Happy to see more of this! Granted, it seems like a brutal game, especially if you miss some of the mechanics. Which they have. I hope they learn some things from the comments, without worrying about all the people frustrated that they don't know how to play.
(I understand the frustration, but it's not like Arin is messing up on purpose)
I continue to love all of the custom art for the thumbnails!
Literally rewatched this yesterday! And I was thinking man I hope they do another ep of this!
I was SO SAD when I saw this in the "one off" playlist so this is exciting seeing you bring it back 🥺 THANK YOU 💜
that voice crack at 22:01 on the word traveler was amazing and i’m so sad dan didn’t tease arin for it
Oh sweet I almost forgot they started this up again, so excited to see Dan's reaction to some of the upcoming story beats
So, I requested this specifically because this game is one of the greats among earthbound, outer wilds, FTL, where there's an incredibly riche tapestry of Ludo narrative and actual narrative that provides you with gut wrenching moral decisions. It's a top game because it is an important game that showcase the reality and cruelty of migration systems, and later on truly makes you feel for the characters you meet. If Danny was about to cry from doki doki or Danganronpa, I'm nigh certain the characters will create an emotional response that I'm excited to witness. Please play this to completion.
i feel like arin is close to a bad ending, i hope that when that happens Dan gets a turn to try
@@gothic_ace2037 same
Here to say that magnet ad was perfection. Well produced. Well written. Acted beautifully. I actually watched the whole thing and am looking forward to seeing it again
i’m so used to jacksepticeyes “DETAINED!!!!” that hearing arin, in the most monotone voice, being like “just get the fuck out i don’t have time for this” is cracking me up
"The carbuncle eats ass" is the single greatest line ever said on game grumps, thank the gods that it was put to record
Dan and Arin are always playing the most relevant and topical games.
Can't wait until they play happy wheels.
Bro I want Guts and Glory so bad.
still waiting and hoping for them to do FnaF: Security breach..
@@D44RK_Iced_YogsThey have a whole series of that
@@D44RK_Iced_Yogs I think they totally played some of that a while back. Dan angrily sang the Gummi Bears theme.
@@Archgeek0 that's the joke...
"What are you doing later tonight? IN CASE MY WIFE DIES."
*gets handed a The Pink Vice card* XD
"My family is sick and starving" *At the same time Arin playing this game slower than I've ever seen anyone play a game ever*
I can already foresee that they will be receiving a very specific ending in the next episode of this.
You can use the discrepancy detector more often, especially if you arent sure of something, such as the work pass stamp. Connect it with the valid stamps in your book. Its very helpful and just might be better than trying to scrutinize the details yourself.
I love Dan correcting Arin's pronunciation as if these are real countries.
Best advice I have is to get a separate screen or a tablet with a country guide so you don't have to flip through the book all the time. You guys could even have a division of labor between Arin and Dan, like Arin checks country and codes while Dan checks faces and names.
gods i want to watch them and sean play this game in the same room but Sean cannot have the controls. I just want to hear him screaming in the background "GREATEST COUNTRY MOTHER PROUD!!!"
For Dan: Veruka Salt fell down the garbage chute. Violet Bolregard turned into the blueberry "Violet! You're turning Violet, Violet"
Not me, scrolling the comments to see if anybody already made this correction
@@LethalLaurie they made the correction in the video, so i see someone else was in the comments before it came up xD
GLORY TO GAME GRUMPS!
As someone who has worked with both passports, and visas, it really does end up like that.
"Your paperwork doesn't match. I really don't give a fuck. Get out of my sight. I'm sick of hearing excuses."
Usually when I hear about the angry comments they talk about getting I'm like "lol how do they get so worked up?" But today was the day I felt like leaving multiple angry comments about how they don't know how to play the game haha
The one guy that keeps coming back and getting rejected reminds me of Tom Hanks in The Terminal. "Chance I go New York 50-50"
He's the Monologue Boy! He's the one who speeches!
I'm so glad they are continuing this. I love this game and Arin's unintended negligence makes it all the better as him and Dan chatter.
"I forgot how to do this..." - Arin the videfuckingame boy henson
“I forgot how to do this.” You know it’s gonna be good when an episode begins with _that_
Them not interrogating Vince Lestrade made my head explode 😐
I've never played this game, how do they interrogate him if there's no discrepancy in his papers?
@@djgucci528 Click on the newspaper you get at the start of every day and then his face.
you dont get to keep the news paper, its in the paper packet when you enter your booth, you gotta click on that and the name in his passport@@THENAMEISQUICKMAN
What about Dari Ludum
@@djgucci528when you're new to the game there's a lot of information to take in and I think that makes you forget about a lot of the functions in the game. You figure out later on how to keep all your documents in place and to remember to use essentially all of them to your advantage. I think most people need time to figure out how to use the fingerprints as well. Essentially, you need to match everything up and figure out what correlates.
I love that they made it a poem to Dan and also seeing Dan's expression facial expression that is
GameGrumps Lunch Break Chronicles, Day 73:
Ramen again today. Is it healthy? Nah. But we ball. 10/10.
Whatever fuels you, my friend. Have a good day!
Arin choosing to use the discrepancy detector seemingly at random is... fun
Glad to see them return to his series. I can’t wait to see Arin lose his mind when he has a bunch of things to check and not much time to do it 😂
Game grumps ads are the only ads I will watch cause they’re cute and delightful. That note at the beginning had me in stitches
Arin not inspecting stuff is gonna kill me
In two episdoes, Arin has done 20 years work experience at the DMV.
"Was there a way for me to stop that from happening?"
That's... that's your entire job in this game.
Seeing them continue this game gave me the same reaction as I would have if I got banana bread at work, dude
Hell yeah
Dan's aptitude at reading difficult names and Arin's inability to remember basic ones in front of him that he repeats incorrectly both amaze me.
it is not, in fact, veruca salt who eats the blueberry in willy wonka. 6:05
also, Violet did not eat a blueberry 🙄
@@KyloStimpyyeah like she turned into one !
Iirc, Veruca gets chair'd? Along with her dad or something
