Adding a very important info to this page: a Vz. will expect from you full emotional engagement. If you are not ready to bond fully - your baby will feel lost and unloved. It is the best if you can think of them like " differnt looking - humans". They are hard wired to notice the smallest change in their human partner, the slightest mood change, your tone of voice.... It is not arrogance - it's in them like in all pointers. The Vz. is not an average breed, needs more work, more investment, more...in everything - but, Oh, Gosh! they worth it. This VDO is a very good example of the life with a Vz. Thank you, so much - it was awesome.
Beautiful Dog! Our Vizsla is the most amazing athlete I've ever seen, rivals anything I've seen on TV as well, then turns into the sweetest snuggle dog. Plus, you can tell what they are thinking, so expressive. Have fun!
If you have the ability to give them tons of off leash exercise, they are wonderful. Our Chester is almost 16 years old and he is the most gentle, sweet dog ever. But, he recently chased away a coyote from our backyard. We love him so much. They do need tons of exercise the first two years so be prepared.
I agree. I had one too. Absolutelly not aggresive, very easy to train. They do not smell. Great with kids and other animals. They love to run but when inside they turn into couch pets. But these are not dogs you can ignore. They need your love. Unless you are not able to treat them as a part of family/pack, then this is not a dog for you. All they want is to be your best friend so be it.
Two more things is missing : " They are extremely intelligent " and also very attached to their master !!! They always want to sleeping close by you , just to touching you because they feel very comfortable close to you !!!!
John O toole dog games ....gotta love those Vizslas! Ours is a Vizsla mix rescue dog, have had her for 13 years, and love her to pieces. Will never want another breed....
NEVER EVER let your dog off leash , except in a fenced area. Arrogant dog owers claim their dog is trained. People like that do not realize that if the dog thinks they sniff a rabbit, or whatever another part of their brain shifts into gear. There are horror stories out there. Many dog owners do not deserve dogs. People MUST educate themselves
These are truly wonderful attributes but they are not restricted to the Vizsla. I was looking for something that makes them distinctive. The only thing I can see as distinctive is their color, which when you consider that they are hunting dogs is NOT good. Having a hunting dog that is quasi-deer colored is rather not odd.
dont get one if u u and your partner have a regular job. its not a dog that can stay alone the whole day or they get destructive and its cruel. or u r rich enough to hire somebody to run with the dog for 2h during halftime
Lost my girl Vayda one year ago at 14 years young, now we have a 4 year old rescue, they are the sweetest creatures you could ever know

Don’t expect vizslas to be alone to long, especially in house!
