Yeah, I missed it on the first watch, but over time, I came to see how much Jiang Cheng did for WWX, and in the end, he kind of loses Wei WuXian who is his last remaining family member.

Fight tooth and nail for years, tease each other til the cows come home,… but the minute there is any possibility of physical or emotional danger, you are first in line to defend. this show has developed all the characters so well, Jiang Cheng gets lost in the fray. But he is just the little brother Wei WuXian needed.
if you think about it, jiang cheng after realizing he got resurrected didn't kill him instantly nor outed him. he didn't show it and likely because he still despised him for what he thought he did, but a part of him missed him and was simply glad that he was alive again. i mean his entire family all passed, i think having at least one of them back again was a relief to him. also jiang cheng and lan wangji worked together during the war to take down the wen clan and didn't like it when wei wuxian and lan wangji weren't on good terms after wei wuxian came back from the burial mounds. he cared for lan wangji and knew how important their bond is. maybe the reason why he did this was not only because he cared for lan wangji but knew that if anything happened to him, he'd lose wei wuxian all over again.
The saddest thing is many still don't remember how A' Cheng placed himself as bait to help Weiying escape on that rainy day... Which was also the reason for him to loose his spiritual power (as it was damaged by that Core melting hand). He in fact still loved his WeiYing even after he became Yiling Laozu as he approached him to tell him to stop everything. But when he realised Weiying won't step back he even acted as a bad guy (that first fight it was an act put on by them together)to Wuxian and acted like he Dont care anymore...... He even let go of his First and One and only LOVE to choose his responsibilities....... And still remains as one of the most underrated characters whether it is in Live action, Manhua or Anime.......

he was so scared for lan zhan's life. thanks to jiang cheng who still protected them, who wasn't able to hide his fear too. jiang cheng felt betrayed and had loathed wei ying for years but will always have a soft spot for him. he might hide it through his harsh words and actions but he still long for wei ying, because no matter how much hatred he feel towards wei ying, he will always be someone who he grow up with, the one who took care of him during his hard times and even sacrificed his golden core just to save him. the most selfless person he knew that angers jiang cheng even more.
The one redeeming thing JC did. He's a weak minded character which is why Wei Ying gave him his core. His mother did a number on his confidence and any affection he would have had for WY. He was always in competition with him. Their relationship was damaged for years and while he may have loved him, he was deeply jealous and would have held WY back. Also his ill feelings towards WY and LZ's relationship. WY would never choose anyone over LZ and vice versa.
I really hated Jiang Cheng tho., he was full of resentment and anger towards Wei Ying not seeing the bigger picture that Wei Ying was only protecting him but then I realized that he lost all his family and the person who he treated as his brother found someone like Lang Wangji basically replacing him. He has no one but his nephew and he must feel so lonely.

Es muy estraño ver a Lan Zhan desprotegido frente a la espada de Jing y a Chen tan asustado de lo q podía pasar, salvó a Lan Zhan por WeiYing y su hermano, aunque estoy segura q si Chen no habría reaccionado tan rápido, WeiYing se habría sacrificado por Lan Zhan sin dudar, es algo muy tipico de el y no lo habría hecho diferente con el amor de su vida.

he was so scared for lan zhan's life. thanks to jiang cheng who still protected them, who wasn't able to hide his fear too.
jiang cheng felt betrayed and had loathed wei ying for years but will always have a soft spot for him. he might hide it through his harsh words and actions but he still long for wei ying, because no matter how much hatred he feel towards wei ying, he will always be someone who he grow up with, the one who took care of him during his hard times and even sacrificed his golden core just to save him. the most selfless person he knew that angers jiang cheng even more.
The one redeeming thing JC did. He's a weak minded character which is why Wei Ying gave him his core. His mother did a number on his confidence and any affection he would have had for WY. He was always in competition with him. Their relationship was damaged for years and while he may have loved him, he was deeply jealous and would have held WY back. Also his ill feelings towards WY and LZ's relationship. WY would never choose anyone over LZ and vice versa.
I really hated Jiang Cheng tho., he was full of resentment and anger towards Wei Ying not seeing the bigger picture that Wei Ying was only protecting him but then I realized that he lost all his family and the person who he treated as his brother found someone like Lang Wangji basically replacing him. He has no one but his nephew and he must feel so lonely.
